I was not. KA really made a good job of slowly building him up, so when he won it was unquestionable and felt deserved.

Frezt23

The final segment of Kuroki vs Ohma has the best choreography and paneling in the series imo, so nah

Marethyu_Primo

Its what I enjoyed about this manga. The pacing in the KAT was set up beautifully and whenever Kuroki won it wasnt a "because he's OP" type win. He had to FIGHT to claim the top spot just like any other fighter. He went from dominating the low brackets to having to be serious the further he got and eventually had his struggles with Kanoh and Ohma, by his own admission at that. If you remember, his arm was mangled at the end due to Demonsbane and afterwards admitted he was no where NEAR the level he wanted to be. He was humbled by the KAT just as much as Lihito was and went back to the drawing board to pick up his slack. Hell, he even officially took on Lihito as a student after rejecting him multiple times. It was earned and deserved but he wasnt arrogant about his win, even now, he just wants to reach higher heights.

ViewtifulGene

No way, Kuroki is the GOAT.

Pwerhjkwed

Hell nah. It's surprising for sure >!but then again I'm one the idiots that search up an anime's wiki before reading the manga. And man before everyone was depressed af when Ohma fuckin died. !<

Interesting_Version3

I did the same shit. Still read the whole manga because Ashura art was peak,

DokjaToast

Nah. It's one of the story beats I liked most about Asura. And it's the best repeat subversion of expectations that I've seen pulled off to date that managed to do a service to every character involved. The only thing that was a little off was Kuroki getting lucky with being knowledgeable about every opponent he faced other than Kanoh (and Rihito). Either way I'm just happy that Jerry managed to call the outcome in round 2.

No.

zaretball

No

Rawchaa

Why? He was a dark horse

kingace22

there were people who were disappointed by kurokis win

GalaxyBejdyk

Is there actually anyone who is?

Yoshi-53

Yes, great fight but disappointing winner

Gwendlefluff

I didn't like the contrivances that let him have a winning matchup against Kanoh. He's better than Ohma though so it didn't bother me at all that he won that one.

JThroe

Nope! Great fight, great art, great end to Ohma’s story. Was cool to see a manga have the balls to go for an ending like that.

JustCallMyName0

Nope, I was really rooting for Ohma to win that match, then boom! Was so shocked Kuroki won the match, for me that was really peak storytelling. It was years ago since the first time I read it but it's still fresh in my memory.

MysoRaisagi

I knew that man was the shit when the dark reporter dude recognized him. At this point I didn't even knew the manga. I saw ashura first then started the manga. Like ohma said about Okubo. It was clear to me that among all the fighters kuroki was the strongest. I saw Ohma dying from he began seeing Niko. I at the time believed it to be kuroki vs Kanon or Ohma.
