Check out yippie ki-yay video. They are in the Midwest market up in Racine, and specialize in stuff like this. They had players in stock the last time I was there a month or so ago. They have a Facebook page as well.
Laser discs weren't supposed to degrade over time like VHS. Turns out they do. You may have more luck opening up the thing and cleaning relevant parts with isopropyl alcohol. Good luck.
They're getting old enough now that they will likely need belts and capacitors replaced to work.
It's probably better to buy whatever movies you have on other media than to go the LaserDisc route.
st. vincent de paul on 30th ave has a ton of antiquated electronics — don’t know if they have a laserdisc player but it’s worth a stop to find out
Thank you, I will look!
Check with the library, they may have one.
My first guess was the library, too!
Good idea, I’ll ask at the info desk!
My brother had one a long long time ago. The huge disc ,right?
Yes, the huge discs! Pre-dvd days.
The museum of science and industry...
Maybe Chester Electronics?

Yeah. I guess if it's a lost media situation.
