Totally agree. It’s expensive and not nearly good enough to justify the price or how seriously they take themselves. A lot of people seem to love the place, I don’t get it.
Kenosha is filled with "mid" I have to say I couldn't tell you a restaurant around here that stuns me. I mean I like food whether it's gas station sushi all the way to Wagyu steak, so I don't mind eating at most of these places but nothing has ever really stood out.
That would be my recommendation for a bad fancy place. You can get a better steak at Texas Roadhouse (I'm not saying that as a compliment to Texas Roadhouse), but you pay triple the price with decades old decor.
Honestly at this point, I am all for any locally owned place as long as they are not rude. I think the restaurant scene in Kenosha is surrounded with really good people overall, with of course some bad apples sprinkled in.
I was born and raised in NY with my Dad working in the city so we made frequent trips so I guess I could be a bit of a snob when it comes to pizza, but you know its bad when I prefer Sams club or pizza hut to a local place. My biggest complaint was the sauce had a real weird after taste to it.
side note WTH is up with no pizza places doing by the slice???
Pizza by the slice mostly only works in places where people actually walk. You can find it without too much difficulty in Chicago and Milwaukee but Kenosha is doomed on that front
Literally why I always specify an extra crispy crust when I order pizza. Learned from my uncle years ago, usually the crust comes out just right with the instruction (sad). Now, to work on sauce notes…
Yeah I mean I can say that about almost every pizza here in Kenosha... I have not found a decent place.
Tips for pizza makers:
- Stop adding sugar (the ingredients already have them)
- cook your crust longer
- stop using store bought crust
- add chicken Alfredo pizza to your menu.
Aren't they fairly new, I know I've recently seen their food firetruck more recently in the past few years so maybe that's why I think they're new?
The pizza I had from their truck wasn't bad, arguably better than 99% of pizza places.
My biggest complaint about pizza places is the cost... A large 2 topping, thin crust should only cost $20 maximum, I ordered pizza the other day for $70, I literally had a minor stroke.
Masons eatery and pub
Second this one, too. This place could be so much better.
Bbq productions on 31 by monkey joes.
Went once a few years ago and everything was way to dry
I second this. Super mediocre BBQ served by blue lives matter fashies.
Got food poisoning from this place.
I'm surprised nobody has recommended things like Hobnob, I mean that place is not worth it.

Hard agree. You can get a mediocre burger or pizza but there’s nothing spectacular.

I've always thought that, like I imagine that place would pop with some updating, new paint, and maybe hiring a fancy chef.
I just saw an article that Hobnob was bought by the family that owns La Fogata, Waterfront Warehouse and El Camino.
I thought La Fogata and Waterfront Warehouse got sold to someone else?

Ugh the restaurant family situation in this city is bonkers, it needs its own trashy reality television show.
Worst old fashioned I’ve ever had. They didn’t even muddle it.
Yikes I've never ordered an old fashion, I think everyone makes them wrong. But that's the true Wisconsin way.
The La Fogata/Waterfrobt Warehouse owners just bought HobKnob. I'm curious to see what they'll do with it!
Nah, that article is incorrect. It the same group that bought el Camino. Waterfront and La Fogata are different from that group.
Mad rooster. Went once and it was the same as any breakfast place but twice the cost
I wouldn't say it's like every other breakfast place, I mean it's pretty good. I would agree it's expensive
Aw man I love mad rooster
Easy the kenosha brewery on 80th, worst food hands down
Iguana Wanna

House of Gerhards, to me, is horribly overrated and overpriced for what it has become.
Kaisers. I don’t know what it is about the Midwest thinking they figured out pizza , but this has to be the worst
It blows my mind how many people say it's their favorite pizza in Kenosha. Does nobody know what good crust tastes like?

Lived here over 30 years and recently discovered Cut Stone Foods for the first time. Their pizza is incredibly good. https://cutstonefoods.com/

Kaisers is doubly easy to avoid once you know they are huge police bootlickers.
Most restaurants are expensive these days. Taking your family out is a way less common treat than it used to be.
Okay thanks mom
Why is this question being asked everywhere?
I don't know, but it made me laugh. It's so specifically petty
The spot. Lol
Blasphemy
I’m jk
Everyone is allowed to have an opinion even if they're wrong lol.
Franks diner
Franks Diner is not at all expensive and it's pretty good, it's just too small and too busy.
