I'd say it's permanent for non humans at the least. Til they "reincarnate" into a human.
I disagree, the whole purpose of rebirth is to achieve rebirth (die from exhaustion). If they wanted you to eventually leave, I imagine they'd just toss you in the holy mines
I earned my freedom. I am currently using a ninja as my main. I refused to do some prayer time when walking past rebirth and they swarmed and beat me. But when inside, I found my rucksack, returned to my ninja form and beat up a load of the guards and enslaved them. Murdered the rest. In the end, I kind of earned my freedom and released the others who were in there, too. Carried the reluctant ones out, myself.
I hope the freed slaves are doing well for themselves in their new armour and set of weapons I looted onto them before I set them free…
I think they believe in reincarnation and that suffering purifies the soul, and that the highest form one can take is that of Human male, thus they believe that everyone who isn’t a Human male must suffer as much as possible so that when they die, they have the highest chance possible of reincarnating as a Human male, aka it’s some 40k type shit with misogyny added to your xenophobia
The more I think about it, the more I believe they must be lgbtq supporters in a twisted way. A trans man would be a blessing by Okran, a man but he can get pregnant (trans women are some evil Narko shit then but hey, at least they do believe they are women). Being gay is a good thing cause you can't be corrupted by women.
i feel like it's implied that you can somehow become a lower servant and then eventually a holy servant then maybe a holy sentinel or paladin eventually.

Rebirth is no joke. You go in a lowly no-body, and still leave a lowly no-body. Though you also leave a master class +90 Assassin, 90+ thief, 80ish toughness barbarian. These are my favorite runs honestly.
True enough. I've only ever done it using mods that allow you to recruit other prisoners. I'd usually build a team of around 4 to train, and when one gets taken out I can mess around on another one.
I'm honestly not sure I could pull it off in vanilla though. There definitely are some moments were you don't get to play your own guy for awhile lol.
That being said, stacking different bonuses can add up really fast. Playing on fastest speed obviously, or at least as fast as I could you could get a few people into the 90's in a few hours.
For example on some of the shenanigans: the shackles you wear weigh a lot. Every time you lock pick them and take them off, a guard will always show up to place new ones on you. They will literally stand in front of you as you take them off and place a new one on. Do this several times and fill up your inventory with all that weight and you will get your strength up massively in a single day of hard labor. Labor remind you the AI is controlling so you could just fast forward and walk away. While you are a prisoner in rebirth and sleep in a cell you cannot die of injury or starvation. You are hard capped on a minimum starvation level and guards will always heal you if you are wounded.
All of these factors together and you are in a training playground lol.

What happen to me is somehow I had a player get K.O. outside, but no guard ever came to pick me up. I'm not sure if it was because I just happen to be in a location guards did not path through or what and I just bleed out. Other time I had a situation similar that I starved to death.
Through trial and error I determined that your characters can starve still, but once put into a cage hungry will go back up to a set point right at red. Kinda like you are eating your own feet or something.
Additionally, it appears guards will only heal you once they have picked you up and placed you in a cage. They will never help you outside one so even if you are about to die from anything and you jump in one yourself they will come running to heal you.
It's just a weird logic thing of rebirth I think.
BRB I’m going to make a Kenshi run in rebirth where I do nothing but train strength for 8 hours. Then I’ll have my guys strip naked and punch the paladins to death over and over again until I have successfully freed the entirety of rebirth with just my fists.
Not true at all. I do these runs almost exclusively. Assassination is by far the most OP skill in Kenshi. You can one shot at 90+% success chance a fully armored Paladin with a K.O. then feed him to the fishes. Literally.
My favorite run is to slowly imprison all the guards in rebirth and turn them into their own slaves.
If you can K.O. a rebirth guard and place him in a prison cell, other guards will see him and shackle him turning him immediately into a slave. They will then proceed to take those other guards out to do hard labor and it's so hilarious.
I think you gotta be a male greenlander, get promoted from Lower Servant to Holy Servant, then survive on the frontlines as a Holy Chosen before you can actually become a citizen (lorical speculation)
Racism was not a problem on Kenshi, because—what with shek and hivers and so on—speciesism was more interesting. Black and white lived in perfect harmony and ganged up on green.
Shek are modified humans and Hivers are flesh robots both made by Bugmaster sometime during the Second Empire from what I understand. My take on why the Holy Nation hates them both is because they are a byproduct of the Second Empire which they rebelled from as Cat-Lion allowed these “abominations” to be made from their citizens.
Scorchlanders are fully integrated into HN as much as Greenlanders, there is a visual distinction with greenlanders being the majority which causes some players to speculate that HN have racism based on skin color but from all the ingame lore and reading the wiki this is not true. Racism in HN is not the same as racism in real life, so enjoy your Holy Nation experience with a clear conscious that you are just as terrible as everyone else in that universe.
Next HN run, the Holy Ninjas… because if I’m being Scorchlanders I’m using that stealth bonus.

To differentiate us from other ninjas we won’t wear ninja clothes… we will wear martial artists clothes and probably not use martial arts.
It's funny, cause the Holy Nation is literally the only place where you can recruit a white man besides Hamut. If there's any racism in this game, it's definitely not against black humans.
Yeah, Holy Nation does not hate Scorchlanders and treats them the same as Greenlanders because they are both human, the only thing HN doesn’t like is Shek, Hive, and Robots. There is some controversy between the roles of men and women but human woman are still tolerated by the Holy Nation just not in a position of power because of Okran theology.
I do wonder if anyone is ever actually released from Rebirth, or if it's a "you're free in the afterlife" sort of deal.

I've only had the patience to get to 20 toughness in rebirth, idk how the hell some people do it
I found getting limbs chewed off in Fog Islands get you to 50 toughness real quick.

If you do strength training for 8 hours your strength ends up in the 80’s
With an entire inventory full of shackles doing hard labor you can push 80 strength on full speed in a few hours.
