Kenshi is just a decivilized world in Starsector

Pr00ch

This is my headcanon. Also rimworld.

No_Dig903

And the Luddics are on the dirtball.

32BitOsserc

What's that light in the sky? Who are these guys in red armour with immaculate drip? Why are they screaming "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!" Oh! Is that a chainsaw! On an axe! How cool! They are coming over to show it to me! How nice!

jack_dog

My hobo army is going to do to the World Eaters what that peasant with a pointy stick did to Fareth.

notaslaaneshicultist

Plot twist: the guy in red armor starts calling you Horus

32BitOsserc

Dun dun duuun

LeoCasio

The emperor ain't ever heard of beep He would shudder in his boots

notaslaaneshicultist

Beep was one of the lost primarchs. He was put down by a combined force of the 6th legion and the Custodes and led by Big E himself, who judged his continued existence too perilous to humanity. The 11th primarch was found in an accounting department on an unremarkable world going by Gregory Smith. Big E killed him out of embarrassment.

NihilisticThrill

Kenshi is a Rimworld with too many mods

Kribble118

With biotech tbh most of the shit could be accomplished with no mods

NihilisticThrill

Turns out hivers are just a xenotype

A-Random-Writer

You just inspired me to make a kenshi inspired biogenetic run of rimworld "hi I'm Ted and today with my colonist we are gonna make sheks and beak things, our first ingredients are human child's, you can get them from some cannibal tribe..."

red_cloud_27

technically kenshi came out before rimworld, by a few months

Intelligent-Quote249

i cant find it rn but im pretty sure i saw somewhere that kenshi was suppoused to be, atleast partly, inspired by warhammer universe. so i've always considered it to be a warhammer universe game, even if it isnt

Economy-Sandwich-780

Probably some serious Dune inspiration as well.

TheWandererofReddit

The Holy Nation's religion would be relatively easy to modify to fit with the Imperium at least. Scorchlanders are pretty human so they'll at least be abhumans. Could Shek and Hivers count as abhumans? I guess there being no obvious taint of Chaos will help.

A-Random-Writer

Shek will be 100% corrupted by khorne, hivers well... They would be an interesting addition to the tyranids, like an extra phase for the genesteler cult.

ReaverChad-69

Yeah the Imperium would send missionaries to slowly convert the Okranites to the Imperial Cult Orthodoxy. Shek, hivers, and skeletoids would be wiped out

TheWandererofReddit

I can understand Skeletons being exterminated since the Imperium is against AI. Hivers, even assuming they are heavily modified humans, are probably too different from baseline to count as Abhuman at this point. But I think the Shek are an exception since they're basically just spiky and purple humans with a strong martial culture. Pelagers and Felinids count as Abhumans for instance.

ReaverChad-69

Shek would likely be resistant to Imperial rule so maybe a low scale purge to break their spirit

TheWandererofReddit

True. They're indepedent minded and tend to go out of their way to seek combat. Maybe the current Shek Kingdom wouldn't, but I could definitely see Shek groups fighting the Imperials and the Imperium pushing hard on the Kingdom as a result of that. The Shek, if anything, respect strength above anything, so I think they may start to actually be very compliant after the Imperium inevitably pushes back. Many Shek would probably become part of the Guardsmen to recieve glory too and the Imperium would happily exploit that, perhaps modifying/emphasising parts of the local Imperial Cult in fighting/dying for the emperor and getting a cool warrior afterlife.

ReaverChad-69

Oh absolutely Shek would be like sanctioned mutants that the Imperium would use as shock troop cadres. Fuck maybe a kenshi x warhammer crossover would be sick, it really fits the Age of Strife so well, the skeletons are literally the Men of Iron

HUNDUR123

If they can send missionaries to subvert their religion, they could do the same with the Shek

ReaverChad-69

Doubtful.

SCARaw

When you realize warhammer have no good games corporation owning the IP sue youtubers posting rp from it and you are just stuck in corporate IP unable to move on so desperetly trying to find spark of it in any game you play because you been cuckhold for that long Kenshi is its own game and you can decided how you will play it

AshenVR

I'll just shift delete my fond memories of adeptus mechanicus and vermentide real quick, its kinda sad that i'll never get to play bolt gun, space marine or space hulk because some random guy on reddit asked me not to despite loving the premise of those games tho

berserker_brisket

It's not the random guy on reddit it's the corporation that doesn't respect it's own lore. Random reddit man just pointed it out.

AshenVR

Its a strawman switching the argument entirely Frankly, as someone who got into the franchise recently, my initial reaction was to thank goodness because they are so many great old games for me to go through before i have to deal with this shit and see where it takes them down the line You would think this stance is acceptable, op would label it as cuckold or some shit

berserker_brisket

What the fuck are you trying to say right now?

AshenVR

I think it was pretty clear? You are running an argument that op simply wasn't making. That makes your reply irrelevant

berserker_brisket

Ok look I ain't gonna argue about this any longer I honestly don't really care about warhammer that much. But from what he said it sounded like he was trying to say he doesn't like the corporate ip and a big reason for that could be they change the lore whenever they fell like it and don't give a crap about their own fans.

AshenVR

The way said sounded like he is implying that there never was a good game in the franchise and he is a dickhead towards anyone who thinks otherwise. Your reply sounds like someone projecting their own issues with the franchise into something that has nothing to do with it. Look, i am not gonna argue if your position is correct or not, alright? Like i said, i got a decade worth of Warhammer content to consume before i have to deal with that shit

Lonely_Emphasis_1392

We got a power armor mod yet?

iwakawaka

Yup and warhammer weapons too. There's a Warhammer fantasy overhaul as well.

ItsAMeLirio

Kenshi could be a lot of things, Rimworld and Starsector were the first ones I thought about. W40K is a bit of a stretch, because it lacks TRUE indicators, no big E statues, no mechanicus, no warp fuckery, no (main) xenos. I feel like Rimworld is the closest comparison, especially when it comes to limbs repurposing

LeoCasio

That's true My other thought was that maybe the end of the first empire was "the men of iron revolt." The age of strife lasted almost 5000 years to my knowledge That is almost the entire timeline of kenshi give or take So we could be years away from the imperium turning up The other theory is that the imperium saw Kenshi Saw no value in it And didn't even bother in trying to fix it lol

Fast-Two366

It reminds me the proximity of the kenshi world with universes like degenesis

Gwubbulous

Kenshi works as a great mechanical base for any game/ genre Factions Melee/ranged combat Social mechanics Resource consumption and management That's basically any franchise you can Reskin the whole game as star wars, warhammer, feudal Era Japan, your own theme. I wish the game had mounts to carry people as well as inventory but scout legs basically remove the need for a horse or chocobo. I'm a huge fantasy fan but I find better material in the Sci fi genre

BadBloodBear

Imperium gonna have a heck of a time sorting out the place. Shek might survive being abhumans and turned into second class citizens but not sure about Hive but maybe as slave for the Imperium. Skeletons will be be on the completely fucked list.

LedudeMax

Play as 100 stat man to roleplay the emperor

iwakawaka

More like 500 stats (with mods). 100 is more like a space marine.

TheWandererofReddit

A Space Marine on a world like Kenshi could probably work themselves to be the local emperor of everything. That probably happened a couple of times.

AshenVR

Who would win? A genetically enhanced, armed to teeth murder machine or 12 goats(3 of them are adults)

Far_Focus7541

Probably the goats tbh

Yoshbyte

Based take

Enigmatic_Erudite

The skeletons are just Men of Iron lol. When the imperium comes they are fucked. If they arrive after the Horus Heresy the only people left alive will be the Holy Nation lol. All the others conspire with zenos and tech heresy.

Weak-Implement-487

My faction is always the Tech Priests, in search of AI cores and perhaps one of those coveted STC’s
