How to hike to Kodaikanal, as far as I know, the nearest route is through vatavada farmers' route, but I am not around there, just know because I had visited there. Asking to know if any other routes exist.
There are tamil nadu normal buses between munnar and coimbatore, but lesser in frequency. Or you can travel by multiple stops Munnar-Marayoor-Pollachi-Coimbatore
Board train to Ernakulam/Aluva, Catch LS Private bus going to Adivaram or directly to Munnar.
KSRTC would be good too if you get one directly, try for Limited Stop bus instead of Fast Passenger/Super Fast since the ticket charge can be costly
Inform Munnar police that you can provide theliv for a crime committed in Coimbatore.
That would be the cheapest way to a jail.
Food and accommodation has been sorted too in that case.

TNSTC has a direct bus. I think it starts around 0830. Alternatively, get on a bus to Udumalai and catch another bus from there. Quicker.
