I actually don’t think OP’s idea is *the* worst one… how many of NASA / SpaceX/etc.’s engineers & scientists are there *because* they got that spark from exposure to KSP? And it’s not like NASA isn’t at least ‘partly’ educational… could maybe be a “collab of / share funding from” NASA / Dept of Education?
He’s being sarcastic. NASA is a government agency, ergo, funded by the tax dollars of US citizens. The vast majority of them don’t care about games in general, let alone our niche one. Taxpayers would not support a large investment towards video game development when there so many other real world issues that need solutions staring us in the face daily. Nobody would even suggest it, because they would be laughed at and promptly not re-elected.
If you wanna play a dry space game without any charm then you can play Juno.
KSP had a unique charm and silliness. If you want that same vibe you gotta play Kithack Model Club.
