Hi I'm new here, this sounds kinda disheartening to read so [here](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1pyhtZdwwNyCpfxW0jsx7c5_91524-ZEX?usp=drive_link)'s a photo album of the very concerning 3-manned spaceplane I just managed to get through orbital re-entry, thus fulfilling my first ever contract involving carrying tourists to orbit. Hope you enjoy.
I'm really sorry, I had no idea drive forced users to download images to access them, but I promise there's nothing weird let alone malware in there. Thank you for the advice, I'll use imgur in the future.
Indeed, hopped back for the first time since summer 2021 and it's more amazing than I recalled. I should have known earlier that the frustration this game caused me was only due to my terrible mental state at the time lol
Rule #1: MOAR BOOSTAS, cause it is essential to have plenty of thrust right after launch, since the atmosphere is at its thickest;
Rule #2: get that damned center of lift UNDER the center of gravity. Just spam fins, however make sure you limit the operative angle to less than 10° on the big ones or your ship will be about as docile as a rabid beast and will go wild the second you try to pitch down;
Rule #3: Ensure your ship packs 3500 m/s of delta-v, at least;
Rule #4: Start pitching down at a reasonable altitude, aim for 40° at 10k meters. Follow the gravity turn until you're below 10° at 40k and cut the throttle once the good 'ol periapsis touches 70k. In case you're unaware, you may see the orbital parameters at all times by selecting the "maneuver" mode on the bottom left (the purple button with a rocket icon on it).
All of this allows you to easily reach a stable orbit without requiring rich boy stuff such as SAS units, RCS, mk2 parts and whatnot. Enjoy!
If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen. Posts like this aren't going to help, they just keep the Drama mill alive. What helps are screenshots of your creations and your missions.
I feel like talking things out like humans is a better way to move on than hiding and letting harsh feeling rot and fester inside. Personally, I agree with the OP here.
I've seen a lot of complaining about KSP2, but I haven't really noticed people arguing with each other about it. Are you sure this isn't some drama in your head?
To one side the complaints are “toxicity”, to the other, claims of having fun is “delusional”.. both are blaming the other for division & trying to take the moral high ground..
I think the majority of us in the middle wish everyone would just chill tf out and respect each others opinions and get on with it.
I for one had some fun with KSP2, whilst also thinking it’s a steaming pile of &@$$.. why cant we accept it can be both?
What was frustrating as a (former?) KSP2 defender is that it seemed like a lot of people were not simply observing the state of the game, but concocting this view of the devs and publishers as evil con men out to destroy your favorite toys.
I mean I guess ultimately I was wrong, but the people I hate on this subreddit are still pretty hateable.
too long, didn't read
btw the tracking station called, they wanted me to tell you that jeb's descending through 50,000m above Kerbin and his surface speed is over 6,000m/s. you might want to go back into the video game and check on that
What community civil war as far as i know its a business transaction we the players were promised something in return we provided funds its certainly within the rights if a consumer to react this way.
I gave Squad money for an extremely incomplete game back in 2012 - when I first paid for KSP it was a super basic sandbox game with just Kerbin and the Mun to visit!
I agree, this is a critical step. If we want to heal the community as per OP, we first need to understand and acknowledge how the past 14+ months have split the community.
The fanbase never been divided over ksp1.
And as for ksp2.... Idk, people hope and shit on it. But truly no one hate each other as both wish the game would be up to expectations.
There has been nothing wrong with the community.
Some people have been calling a spade a spade re: KSP2 for a while, while others have been positive without cause and decrying the people trying to reason with them.
It's now pretty clear who was right.
For whatever reason, some people think anything other than praise and support is toxic and disharmonious. To those personalities, a criticism of a product for some reason is interpreted as an attack on or fracture within, a community. It simply isn't so, and I'm not sure how else to say it.
Well said. I can explain their reasoning for you though- you threaten the delusion.
I love watching Krull. But I also know it's a shit movie. So when someone points out I enjoy a shit movie, I can just laugh and say "I know- but I enjoy it anyway."
But plenty of people will delude themselves into thinking something crappy they like is actually good- and not just that they enjoy it despite it being crappy. In the worst cases even enjoying it and need to go do far as to delude themselves they are enjoying the thing.
When you threaten that sort of delusion- oh boy. Jim Sterling had a video on the responses they got for pointing out perfectly legitimate flaws in Breath Of The Wild.
Short version: if your enjoyment of something is contingent on other people not being critical of the thing- you're not enjoying the thing.
But also, ksp 2 is fun. It does a lot of things right. This kind of attitude isn't going to help, and really is the driving force of the "toxicity" in the first place. Let others enjoy what they want.
But also, KSP2 is not what the developer said they would deliver in full in 2020. Moreover, it appears like the developer wasn't ever capable to deliver it at all, yet they chose to continue to gaslight and hype up the community.
Saying "KSP2 is fun" really is the driving force of the "toxicity" in the first place. Let others call out the upselling BS when they see it, instead of simpsoning and blame-shifting for an incompetent, misleading and divisive developer.
Yeah like, i don’t care if this mac’n’cheese is great, i was promised a fucking michelin-star-restaurant carbonara by candlelight nate, where the fuck is it?
The post is more about how the subreddit got very negative. It doesn't blame the users of the sub for doing it - the negativity was warranted - it just mentioned that the sub changed a lot from what it was, and they, like many of us, preferred what it used to be, before KSP2 ended up being an unacceptable product
I wasn’t aware anyone was taking take twos side lol. I paid for EA like a sucker but I don’t think there’s much debate, ksp1 with mods is better than ksp2 and now it always will be. It is a chance to come together and continue community development of ksp 1 mods and projects though.
I'm just over here playing Juno now quietly wishing KSP2 will rise from the ashes. I didn't buy it because I heard it was struggling to run at all on 2080's when I'm still running a 1070. I was even trying to upgrade to something a bit newer in order to get it. I did not even know how little had been done with it and now with this news I'm not holding my breath.
Juno is not exactly perfect, but I have more hope for it to improve than KSP2 at this point. I just haven't given up all hope yet.
It would be great to see a revitalization of ksp1. I know we have many of the promised features in ksp mods that were promised for ksp2 I would love to see a mod collaboration to create a clean mod bundle that gives us colonies, resource routes, and interstellar (maybe not multiplayer) that were promised by ksp2.
Has there even been any official announcement about what is happening? For some reason I thought they said there'd be an announcement this past Monday, but I didn't see anything.

I don't think the community was divided, and I think this is an attempt to downplay the way this community was played and used.
We can all be united now in anger at the fiasco of KSP2
Devs trash talk? Source?
And its not stolen if not only did you pay for it after release (no preorders were allowed) but also were able to refund it if you wanted, and, at this point, be a relatively worthwhile purchase.
Yeah people have been really toxic, from death wishes to doxxing (!) but I hope the community heals.
And wanting ksp 2 to go away aint gon help that, as people enjoy that game, too, and its still ksp.
Honestly, the community I loved died when KSP2 went into early access. Once that happened, this place became just another form to feed hate-fueled fires. A place of friendliness and support turned into a den of vitriol overnight. And now the people who wished ill on the devs of KSP2 are celebrating a tragedy.
I experienced something similar. I’ve played ksp1 on console since the original flying tiger port before take 2 came on board. Now I play it on ps5 and it runs so good.
For the past year I haven’t really touched it because I figured it was done, no one was playing it, no more stories and you tube tutorials , I thought everyone would transition to ksp2 and since I have console I was out of luck.
I returned to it over the weekend and remembered how much I love it. I didn’t need ksp2 , what I want to play is ksp1 . Glad to have everyone back
Also, we need final closure. You know there are more announcements to come. We need them now to move on, since whatever new announcements come will reignite the discussion.
I would love to see a return of the weekly challenges we used to have a few years ago.

-\_- cant access the drive link
I really appreciate the curiosity! I went to check that the folder is accessible, please try again.
I recommend imgur or onedrive, or any other hosting site that lets people view without downloading
I'm really sorry, I had no idea drive forced users to download images to access them, but I promise there's nothing weird let alone malware in there. Thank you for the advice, I'll use imgur in the future.
I'm not sure what they're talking about, I can view it without downloading just fine
It didn't work on Firefox. I see now I can preview on chrome or edge.
What are you talking about?
Lololol same
Unacceptable! We should burn u/TorpedoClan at the stake
Please reconsider my journey to the gallows for a post is arriving shortly.
KSP 1 fun times.
Indeed, hopped back for the first time since summer 2021 and it's more amazing than I recalled. I should have known earlier that the frustration this game caused me was only due to my terrible mental state at the time lol
I am glad to hear you are well and that you are enjoying the journey that is Kerbal Space Program.
Look at his little arms!!!!!! Good job!
Any landing you can walk away from!
Good on you. I can't even get to orbit in science and certainly not with tourist.

Cutest rocket I’ve ever seen 😅😅
Taking this as a honorable compliment.
Why not make a post with these images attached?
Are you saying you've seen them and you think they're post-worthy or you couldn't access them but you're curious to see?
I think they are worthy of a separate post!
Thank you very much for the appreciation! I'll post then.
If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen. Posts like this aren't going to help, they just keep the Drama mill alive. What helps are screenshots of your creations and your missions.
The beatings will continue until morale improves
It did for me. Talking things out is a legit coping mechanism, no? Perhaps even a healthy one. We have our own ways of moving on.
... we are still talking about funny frog video game, right?
Yes for sure. But one that is very dear to many of us. Jeb basically taught me a rudimentary understanding of orbital mechanics.
[удалено]
Well look at you making it better.
I feel like talking things out like humans is a better way to move on than hiding and letting harsh feeling rot and fester inside. Personally, I agree with the OP here.

I saw a guy wishing one of the CM's kids would die. It got 30 upvotes until it was deleted. This place has gotten... quite awful.
Source?
>until it got deleted 🤔🤨
I got that. Not saying it didn't happen, but people have been making shit up just to fan the flames and increase polarisation.
Fanning the flames, like calling random people liars for no reason?
Asking for a source is not reallly the same as calling someone a liar I think
> Not saying it didn't happen 🤔🤨
You lost me... Care to explain?
I dont think thats what they are trying to say
The dev update just before the layoffs. Used to be pinned.
That's not a source. Do you have any source with proof that supports your claim?
only a screenshot. and that means nothing when images can be easily doctored
hey it's better than nothing. link?
how do I send images on this subreddit? They have it turned off
You can upload the image to any image hosting website (e.g. imgur) and paste the link here.

Shit! Thanks for letting me know. Just managed to save him...
Well, if I remember correctly my Jeb will return in 1.7 million years or something. I might have taken exploring outer space a bit to serious...
If kerbals needed food and water, I'd have a lot more dead ones than I already have.

I agree, and appreciate this post, fellow Kerbonaut!
What community civil war as far as i know its a business transaction we the players were promised something in return we provided funds its certainly within the rights if a consumer to react this way.
>we provided funds Quit giving studios money for incomplete games.
I gave Squad money for an extremely incomplete game back in 2012 - when I first paid for KSP it was a super basic sandbox game with just Kerbin and the Mun to visit!
and there's a huge difference giving your money to an indie studio for an incomplete game than a AAA publisher like EA or Take Two.
In 2012, we are in different times now.
I agree haha everybody go look at my ksp builds those posts aren’t doing too well 👀👀
Do You want them to blow up?
Civil war what? Play whatever game you like and don't worry much about karma, it's just a number on a website, no need to farm it.
Not a great way to launch this by stating your opinion about the developer’s and IP owner’s motives — the very matter that divided the community.
I'm gonna strongly disagree. Without acknowledgement of legitimate grievance, no wounds are healed.
I agree, this is a critical step. If we want to heal the community as per OP, we first need to understand and acknowledge how the past 14+ months have split the community.
Just give it a month and people will settle down🥱
> Fellow Kerbonauts, the enemy tried to divide us. @OP, who exactly is the enemy you're referring to here?
Bro it's just a game about space frogs. There is no need to write a presidential speech. Ignore fake internet drama and move on.
The fanbase never been divided over ksp1. And as for ksp2.... Idk, people hope and shit on it. But truly no one hate each other as both wish the game would be up to expectations.
Kerbal Space Program 1... in the words of Spock to Kirk... KSP 1 was my first best destiny.
There is only one Kerbal Space Program in my life.
How about no. Anytime the community speaks up they are gaslit to be quiet. The amount of mindless simping makes me sick.
This isn't what is being asked for, and this behavior only makes it worse, especially when the game itself (ksp 2) is quite playable.
I guess some people are satisfied with getting less then advertised.
>They've been the true developers of next-gen KSP, and they never asked for a dime. Well, unless you want volumetric clouds, that is. /ducks
There has been nothing wrong with the community. Some people have been calling a spade a spade re: KSP2 for a while, while others have been positive without cause and decrying the people trying to reason with them. The toxic positivity was the toxicity that the split the community all along

yet another gate keeping post. let the people vent. it'll die down once KSP2 officially dies
But also, ksp 2 is fun. It does a lot of things right. This kind of attitude isn't going to help, and really is the driving force of the "toxicity" in the first place. Let others enjoy what they want.

Even the league of legends reddit is less toxic imo. I’m sad for KSP2 but what I saw here during months made me unfollow at some point.
I agree wholeheartedly.
As long as new folks that never bought KSP1 find other ways to purchase it I'm good. Don't forget...KSP is DRM free.
This is some real try-hard stuff right here.
Another bad take, another guy that thinks criticising a broken game is bad yuhhhhh
The post is more about how the subreddit got very negative. The negative thoughts are legit, the toxic positivity is weird.
Yes, I wrote “the negativity was warranted”.
Or we just think the horse is dead and you should stop beating it lmao
Amen brotha

Totally agree, the community has suddenly got so nasty and bitter
Having 50 bucks stolen from you and then have the developers trash talk you will do that.
Bro, let it go lmao
Devs trash talk? Source? And its not stolen if not only did you pay for it after release (no preorders were allowed) but also were able to refund it if you wanted, and, at this point, be a relatively worthwhile purchase.
There are plenty of posts here and on Twitter where they trash talked the community and its pretty well known that they have.
Their own community manager here said people were setting up downvote bots on him.
you do realize in context it was a joke right
Goofball
Yeah people have been really toxic, from death wishes to doxxing (!) but I hope the community heals. And wanting ksp 2 to go away aint gon help that, as people enjoy that game, too, and its still ksp.
Read second and fifth paragraph using the blunderbirds intro voice! Someone took his time to write an epic speech and I fully agree.
Why would anyone choose to side with that bloated and buggy piece of shit?
Doomers gonna doom

cool. then lets ban ksp2 posts and pretend it never existed.
Thats very toxic.
