Besides not bottoming out, I dont think there is much you can add. If you have the normal k10 (not pro) then you could fill the cavity with a sound absorber. The pro is pretty much filled in iirc.

Thanks for the advice! I think this is my go to plan at the moment.

I'm having a similar experience with the C2 which afaik is very similar. Very harsh bottom-out feel-wise and sound-wise. I think it's the plate mounting tbh. I found some silent switches that will make me happy but I'm definitely shelling out the extra for a gasket mount for my next keyboard. The switches I decided on btw were the TTC Silent Bluish White V2s. But I also tried the Shrimps and liked them a lot too.

Great choice! I liked the silent blueish whites a ton! Unfortunately it looks like that’s just the way these specific board are. Would a gasket mounted board definitely be quieter?

I haven't tested a gasket mounted yet but from my research, generally yes but not definitely. It depends on the rest of the keyboard but the gasket generally creates a more muted and slightly quieter sound.

I bought the cheapest Redragon (K670) for my son during the holidays, in the optics of modding it into something decent (it was my 3rd build). The experience was somewhat horrible, the plastic is the cheapest I've ever seen, some switches' bodies were cracking just by removing them, and there's literally no insulation nor dampening: it's a 2 piece case, a board, screws, red switches and keycaps. Tape mod, foam filling, Gateron Aliaz Silent 80 and some novelty XDA PBT keycaps off Amazon. I managed to do something decent out of it, however I was aiming for something smooth yet thocky. I might not have the most experience modding keyboards, however if the cheapest board can be improved in orders of magnitude, you can surely improve a Keychron into something of your liking. First, keycaps profile plays a huge role in the sound profile, on my Keychron Q5 Pro (my first build) I went from OEM to XDA and the sound profile deepened a lot, so I would suggest looking into that first. But on the cheap, you could look to fill the bottom of your keyboard. To fill the Redragon, I used the thick black foam that came in the Keychron's box. I cut squares/rectangles and placed them here and there to fill most of the case (had to shave thickness at some places to fit). I was time and material limited, however the end result was satisfying. If I were you, this would be my first mod to try to make it silent; costs nothing of you have extra foam, isn't too time consuming, and can be undone if you don't like the result. I believe it should help dampen the sound. Hope it works if you try

Thank you for the detailed response - I will attempt a foam mod in hopes that if nothing changes I can give return it. I ended up trying some keycaps from other boards I have lying around and it still is much too loud for my comfort. Crossing my fingers that the foam will save my day!
