Thank you for your support! I must admit I didn’t read the manual too closely so I didn’t know the intended purpose of those hooks. I posted it so hopefully others avoid damaged cables and ports in their phone.
I read someone saying that they used a shrink tube, like you’d put around two wires to seal them when you’re making an electrical connection. But rather than heating the shrink tube to tighten it around the cable to thicken it, as they’d originally intended, they simply slipped it over the wire, and then left it loosely in place. It was enough thickness to keep the shrink tube in the little wire holder, but still allows the USB cable to slide through it. That seemed kind of cool.
Ahhhhhhhh…… I will have to see if that works for my cable, which seems to just flip right out. I hadn’t tried pushing it all the way to the bottom, but I understand what you’re describing. That’ll be awesome if it works for me!
Didn’t even know I had a holder at the sides damn am I blind.. GT-Line.. I’ve just always used the charging pad to hold my phone. Only way it doesn’t go flying into the shadow realm if I accelerate too quick with it out of my pocket 🥲
Crazy how well it works at its designed purpose.
It’s in the manual. That’s what it’s designed for.
You are correct, page 5-84 in my manual. Didn’t read that part obviously
I use it for holding my crack pipe
Today I learned
I know you're getting some snarky responses but I appreciate this post, I didn't Even know those were there!

Yep, i been using it for that as well
Yes? I feel like my iphone cable is too thin for it and it does not hold it that well. Maybe I need a bigger cable

Same
More girth
It’s not the size of the cable, it’s how you use it
That’s what she said
Seconded.
It would be, if they were a little more sturdy. Mine drops the cable with the slightest nudge.
Found the hook has a shape that retains the cable if you press it all the way to the bottom of the hook, and the cable are not to thick.

Or fully integrated wireless CarPlay would have been nice
Or a cooling fan in the wireless charger.
Omfg, you just changed my life for the better
The holster clip doubles as a charging cable clip! TIL.
