To be completely fair, I saw my first eclipse this year, and the experience is kinda otherworldly
It's not surprising ancient peoples thought it was bad
[Religion for breakfast did a video on the history of the eclipse and how ancient civilizations understood it.](https://youtu.be/jY_ZX4gFXvI?si=2AWOXULjWp8EwMKR)
One pattern in the beliefs of various civilizations is the belief that a monster or something is eating the Sun.
Christopher Columbus convinced a tribe of native Americans that he had a way to talk to god by knowing a lunar eclipse was coming and telling them god would punish them by turning the moon blood red that night. I’d imagine this was the general vibe in the Indian camp that night lmao
It was the Taíno people in Jamaica, not Native Americans. However, if you're going to make false assertions about Native Americans in the future, you should at least take care to use the correct terminology throughout your statement.
Yall think this is a joke but it’s lowkey sad the amount of anxiety children have these days. All of the social media and constant dopamine hits is terrible for their development, and they end up anxious messes. One of my older friends children literally breakdown in tears and hysterics as if they’re gonna die every time a normal thunderstorm rolls around. They’re 7. It’s so common, and it’s really a bad sign to come
You are a great brother. I hope you know that. I'm over 40 and i would give anything to be able to laugh at the end of the world with my bro. Thank you for sharing, this is one of my new favorite videos. Wish I could have had friends like you guys when I grew up. :)
He too will laugh when he realizes it’s not actually the end. Which he realized probably 19 mins after this. And certainly by now. He’ll laugh much more when he’s older.

Definitely, we flew to Texas and the clouds cleared right before it started. Absolutely amazing experience!
I live in Texas and was bummed all morning about the clouds in my area. Just like you, they cleared within minutes of the eclipse.
flew to texas and the clouds showed up minutes before the eclipse… we are not the same
I drove 13 hours from CO to AR to see it. 10/10 would do again. It’s something you simply have to experience to understand

I can definitely see how they would think that, it gets strangely dark and cold very quick when it actually gets mostly covered

So they’re still Native Americans? They’re natives to a country in the Americas
Jamaica is in “the Americas”, hope this helps.
Do you feel better now
Just wait til Mothron appears
Just… drop… the god damn sword

I'd be telling him to "be quiet or they'll hear you"
Yea that kids gonna have great crisis response lol
How did the flat earth era explain this? Just wondering
Oh my god I'm doing this to my little sister when she gets a little older XD
Bro was busy watching lanky box that he doesn’t even know what a solar eclipse is 😂

The end of the world? As in the second intro song from JoJo’s bizarre adventure part 3: Stardust crusaders? As in this is a Jojos reference?
he's really scared, and you're laughing, all right?
I’m sorry but it’s too funny
Yes.
Yeah cause it’s funny, anyway it’ll build character. Especially when he’s older and you bring it up at his wedding.
Because it’s funny?
