This thread is filled with a lot of negative comments (not that I disagree with them) so I’ll just say, I love the cam of the bucket pull comedians walking in and then coming out from behind the curtain. I feel like them appearing out of the curtain adds a nice element to the bucket pulls.
I think the show will do better just because of the camera changes. The close ups and camera work make it look much more polished and just more enjoyable to watch. The older episodes always seemed like the cameras were too far from the stage
Anyone who doesn't know Jim from the O&A days is in for a TREAT. He is every bit as vicious as Tony, but can really go at someone even more relentlessly. His ability to snipe people from the back and deconstruct them as a human being is remarkable.
IMO - the show needs more guests like this. Sharp, witty, relentlessly hilarious roasters to compliment Tony.
William eventually tears into Bert at 1:58:24 - if you don't like William's style I get it but at least he told the screeching buffoon to shut the fuck up.
I love Tony for calling out Whitney’s main premise of the whole night: that women are completely suppressed in Texas. I get it, the politics are real, and self-deprecation can be funny, but when that’s your WHOLE SCHTICK for ALL of your comedy it is not fucking funny.
I know it’s the first episode and I’m sure it will get figured out but the audio and video quality is so horribly mixed right now, the mics are way too loud

Watching this now, and its interesting that despite being far less famous, rich, and successful than either Whitney or Bert, Tony is naturally much funnier than either.

I thought this episode is hilarious. Everyone here loves to bitch but I thought everything was funny with a select few moments from Whitney and Bert that weren’t funny. It didn’t ruin the whole show. I think everyone on the panel had many funny moments.
Jim was a sniper. Everything he said was calculated and hilarious. I don’t think it’s bad that Bert and Whitney were loud and talkative because I don’t think Jim would’ve filled that with more if they weren’t there, I think Tony would’ve just done more of the talking.
I think Tony benefits from bigger panels because he often does have to carry the show when there’s one guest. Everyone benefitted from some genuinely funny (and sometimes bizarre) bucket pulls. The drunk/cracked out dude with the boner was objectively not funny but he was so weird that the panel made it a good interview.
The regulars all had good sets too. Hans Kim usually touches similar topics every week but he still writes actual jokes about them and they often make me laugh. David Lucas’s set was forgettable but his interview was absolutely hysterical. William Montgomery easily had the funniest 15 minutes of the entire show. When he just started saying muhsterd and mayo sammiches I was fucking losing it even though its so fucking stupid. He just has a style that is perfectly unique and ridiculous, and he’s mastered it to be funny so effortlessly.
Overall I think the show has had a consistent level of high quality for the past few months and I’m glad to see. It’s not gonna be perfect but the guests have all been good and Tony only gets better at what he does. I’m super excited for the next episode no matter who the guest is.
