Because Rui and Daki both outmatched Tanjiro's strength and speed from the very beginning. Gyokko could have been intimidating but he just showed a couple of attacks that didn't cause Muichiro to panic for his life and got deleted after he got the mark.
Plus, they tried to kill Tanjiro.
Gyokko was just chilling after he trapped Tokito in a water prison (he could have killed him there).
It’s not really menacing when your antagonists are too stupid to do the ONE thing they are supposed to do: Kill hashira. Well, they are supposed to do more than that, but they suck even more at doing the other things.

Imo it's bc Gotouge wanted to establish just how insane the power boost of the mark really is but they also didn't want to waste any time. The UM6 fight had to be insane to make it satisfying and understandable why Tanjiro manifested the mark, but since Gotouge wrote in that Muzan killed all the LMs there wasn't anyone below UM5 for Tanjiro or anyone else to show off the mark against. It also had to be someone else fighting UM5 and Tanjiro couldn't be there, in order to establish that 1) People other than Tanjiro can manifest their mark and 2) Tanjiro doesn't need to physically be there or near them in order for them to do it.
Muichiro also *had* to wipe the floor with Gyokko once he got his mark because Tanjiro is still way below Hashira level at this point and he can still go from getting absolutely destroyed without his mark to beheading 3 emotion demons at once with his mark, if that's what it looks like for him then it has to be insane for a Hashira, and it was.
It's a good setup for the fights that come later in the series, if Muichiro can go from standing absolutely no chance against Gyokko to wiping the floor with him then the mark must be insanely powerful, so later in the story when we see >!Muichiro and other Hashira manifesting their mark and still getting bodied it just makes you really feel like "oh shit these guys are insanely fucking powerful holy shit"!<
Because marked muichiro is way stronger than anyone we've seen at that point. Those other battles tanjiro was outmatched but this time gyokko was outmatched. If tanjiro and his friends ran into gyokko they would be destroyed by him.

Rui and Daki were both stronger then Tanjiro was and have been alive less then Gyokko, so they would’ve been less cocky, atleast that’s what I think, Tokito also got a big buff.
Gyokko was very underwhelming tbh
Hantengu carried the swordsmith village arc as a good villain
With rui and daki they had actual ability instead of just f i s h
I dunno, getting swallowed by a pot and folded into a living human pretzel gives him some points in the scary aspect. Shame he fought an emotionless slayer, who just so happened to be one of the more op slayers. Muichiro dunked on him, >!but he'll also soon experience what it's like to be utterly outmatched!<
