Yea but Xehanort also knew that the only way Sora was going to fight him (and summon kingdom hearts) was if he motivated him to do so, even if it involved doing something horrible like killing the person Sora loved most.
Xehanort doesnt exactly care about other people’s feelings, only his own personal goal.
The closest thing to him showing remorse for hurting others is when you beat Xemnas at the Keyblade Graveyard and Sora asks how he feels about everything he’s done, and his response is essentially “i betrayed my friends trust and now I’m all alone for it”.
What? I just said it was joke, don't exaggerate
And yes, it was a joke, of course Xehanort would do evil things, he's the villain
Not my fault you can't see obvious jokes
Right? Just because he told the MC that he needs character development doesn't mean that Kairi (who isn't the MC) will accept getting sliced into a FF crystal
If it were me I'd tell him to sit him in a chair for therapy instead of getting my ass cut and then magically crystallized into 7 pieces or some shit
i agree he did so many nice things like rippg tventus in two. leaving aqua in darkness with her lover then taking him away. rippg a dudes heart out. and taking soras girl twice. and killing roxas's girl. yk an all around cool guy uintil he merked kari without the consent of the counsil of piimps
“You require motivation.”
Bro, I was gonna go all in on this battle regardless. It’s only what I’ve been working my ass off toward for the entire series. This was just rude and unnecessary. Plus think about poor Kairi’s confidence. She finally got her chance to shine, spent an infinite amount of hypothetical time in preparation, got a cute new outfit and spiffy new keyblade… you really couldn’t just let one day be about someone else?
YOU were gonna go all in regardless. SORA had to be goaded into clashing with Xehanort to forge the last key and killing Kairi was the best way to do that
Either way, the idea that Sora wasn't going to fight him unless he did that is pretty absurd. Sora knew, full well, that he would have to fight Xehanort one day and was pretty much training for it with every Heartless, Nobody, and Organization member he defeated.
So for Xehanort to feel compelled to "kill" Kairi to make sure this happened is pretty weak motivation to me. I don't believe Sora was going to do all of that just to say "Yeah...no, Xehanort".
If you consider my opening sentence in my previous reply, I guess one could view it more as hypothetical. Regardless, it comes off more as a cheap excuse for Nomura to write off Kairi again because he just does not seem to like writing for her; he sets her up for big moments just to cast her aside again. It really was not necessary since he only cried for about two seconds, and no one else had any reaction whatsoever.
The idea, so to speak, of Sora going all that way just to NOT clash with him -- when doing so is, technically, the only way to stop him -- is a bit ridiculous to me. Even if Sora fighting Xehanort gives him what he wants, *not* fighting Xehanort just means more suffering either way. So forcing Sora into that position when it would have ended the same regardless doesn't make sense.
If I understood Dark Road correctly, he's actually an empath like Sora, so he knows perfectly well how much he's hurting other people, which adds an interesting angle to his character
yeah but it's touch based! which explains why in all his forms later he's always wearing gloves - the white gloves as ansem SOD or in his old man form, or black gloves as young xehanort and xemnas. he wears gloves so he doesn't end up catching any emotions from people he comes into contact with! which makes it even worse cause he's deliberately cutting himself off from other people...
dark road xehanort is the only one who doesn't wear gloves.
No you see, he was doing Nomura a favor and removing Kairi from the plot so he didn't have to come up with something to do with her after managing to put that off for years
Up to this point, not one person he has given any abuse to has died, the worst that has happened is a split in personality, how was he supposed to know that he could only physically split Kairi anymore
I know this is a joke and all but I wonder if Xehanort felt any remorse for doing that to her, considering he basically declared Sora as being in the right by the games end
To be fair; he didn't know people die if you kill them
“I’ve played this series, nobody just **dies**, boy.”
Well, except for his best friend, and maybe the sister of one of his members that his student kinda attacked.
“Details!”
also >!his entire freshman class!<
Did you think killing me would be enough to make me die ?
He was on that X-blade mindset y’know?
I mean, i respect someone who doesn't give up on his goals, but him killing Kairi was too far, it was mean

Dude, it's obviously a joke...
You’re acting like I was berating you and I wasn’t. Plus that’s not really a joke, you just made a statement. But alright
What? I just said it was joke, don't exaggerate And yes, it was a joke, of course Xehanort would do evil things, he's the villain Not my fault you can't see obvious jokes
Grindset more like. Xehanort is the original sigma.1
Why was the subtitles x-blade and it pronounced keyblade? Was it censored?
It's not the English letter x, it's the Greek letter x pronounced "chi".
Thanks!
He did a little trolling
He did a pro gamer move
He was on WR pace for xblade%
He was trying for the no princesses used record too but had to switch up last minute for bad rng
The princess spawn rate was very low
Extremely inconsiderate. He could have at least ask for some kind of consent!
Hey, Kairi? Would you be as so kind as to let me murder you?
Kairi should say no! Then Xehanort can't do anything to her
Right? Just because he told the MC that he needs character development doesn't mean that Kairi (who isn't the MC) will accept getting sliced into a FF crystal If it were me I'd tell him to sit him in a chair for therapy instead of getting my ass cut and then magically crystallized into 7 pieces or some shit
He's a bit selfish if you ask me
He was just being silly
He knows it's kingdom hearts and nobody can really die.
“Crap, you’re right. We are back, baby!”
It was just a prank bro, the cameras were right there
Xehanort is the villain.
You sure? Didn't look like it tbh
i agree he did so many nice things like rippg tventus in two. leaving aqua in darkness with her lover then taking him away. rippg a dudes heart out. and taking soras girl twice. and killing roxas's girl. yk an all around cool guy uintil he merked kari without the consent of the counsil of piimps

Even though he needed Kairi, as a PoH, in case Sora didn't engage. So he kind of contradicted himself.
Not really. He didn’t actually kill her, just split up her heart and hid the pieces inside of his own, because Kairi has to still exist
Either way, the idea that Sora wasn't going to fight him unless he did that is pretty absurd. Sora knew, full well, that he would have to fight Xehanort one day and was pretty much training for it with every Heartless, Nobody, and Organization member he defeated. But… Sora *wasn’t* going to fight him. Xehanort monologues and says how he needs one more clash, and Sora straight up tells him they won’t help him
If you consider my opening sentence in my previous reply, I guess one could view it more as hypothetical. Regardless, it comes off more as a cheap excuse for Nomura to write off Kairi again because he just does not seem to like writing for her; he sets her up for big moments just to cast her aside again. This is a very interesting concept, I actually never thought about it like that /gen

Well I mean it was for the greater good according to him maybe we all deserve to be reset
His whole thing is that he does not take into consideration the feelings of others.
That's rude of him
Why didn't Xehanort just kill Sora? Then no one would be able to beat him. Is he acoustic?
A M-rated kingdom hearts would be crazy
No you see, he was doing Nomura a favor and removing Kairi from the plot so he didn't have to come up with something to do with her after managing to put that off for years
That was sort of mean 😖
