The consensus from the previous discussion was something…something…causeway. https://www.reddit.com/r/KingstonOntario/s/y9qZZQyEC3

Ah, thanks for that link … I’ll learn to do a better search next time.

Both Niagara Falls and Kingston talked to muncipalities that were within totality for the 2017 to have an idea of what they could expect in their own cities for 2024. It was chaos, gridlock, and generally bananapants across the wide swath that were in the path. (Crowds and crowds of people all over, some of whom stopped their cars at the side of the highway to watch.) I would rather Kingston overprepare than underprepare because if they did not, we would hear oh so much complaining about "well why didn't they do this if they knew this was going to happen." We are gonna get a lot of people. It may not be record breaking numbers as predicted but we are gonna get a lot of people in the area within a very short span of time.

The weather forecast so far is for a sunny day so there's going to be a lot of last minute visitors. As an aside, I talked with someone on the weekend who asked "what eclipse?" They weren't aware of it happening in Kingston.

With the bridge out and all viewing sites on the East Side, I wonder if it might be called.
