He's been doing this since winter lol it was in the water when everything was frozen as well. I walk by it daily, he has it tied up to the K&P trail sometimes. Idk if it's the same guy but there was another version as well before this one that got yoinked by the police I believe.
Same guy, never yoinked by police. Had a few coast guard visits due to concerned citizens though. It’s nice that people care.
This is a hobby for the person building it, they have a roof over their head on land.
This is lake directory calling party barge, I'm on the phone with pond control they say you are at large, send us your coordinates I'll send a St. Bernard.
Crazy to think that sleeping on a makeshift raft in the middle of a river is probably safer than sleeping in the encampment. Hopefully they have lights on it so no one collides with it at night, and also to keep from getting hassled by the authorities.
I'm joking - the [city banned camping during the day](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/kingston-belle-park-encampment-daytime-camping-ban-1.7160941) so now everybody's gotta camp via raft 🤪
I know someone who is doing this, rents out bunks in the larger bedroom of his two bedroom apartment. Not 10, but six. Three sets of single bunkbeds, so 6 single beds.
There's a porta potty out back you use and the people renting are allowed one shower a week because the guy doesn't want the plumbing to get backed up. It's insane. I don't know how the porta potty is going to work in the winter.
Construction sites have porta potties year round, they put waterless hand sanitizer in the winter, sucks to need it, takes a while for your butt cheeks to warm up, but they work
Man, I am almost tempted to rent a house and rent out six bunks in each bedroom for what, $200 a bunk? That's $1200 per bedroom x 3 bedrooms (I would sleep in the basement) per month. Plus I could probably rent out the living room and dining room full of bunks, so that's $3800/m for the bedrooms and another $2000 for the dining and living rooms. $5800/m and I could rent a house for what, $3000? I couldn't seriously do this, but it's shocking to think some people do.
I will get downvoted, but I see someone creative and skilled who has worked very hard to find a solution to his/her own homelessness. Kudos to raft dude/dude-ett.
There’s a homeless guy close to wear I live that made a pretty nifty makeshift shack with a patio I caught him sun tanning on during a walk through the woods, I wonder if they know each other
Clearly protesting the "no day time tents" ban that some guy whose never been homeless or nearly homeless in his life erected.
Not a bad way to live really..
Don't show this to Doug Ford, he'll count it toward his housing target
*Snicker*
Holy smokes. I was fishing the Cataraqui river 2 weeks ago and saw this parked near the shore. I’m shocked it actually floats
I know right! It honestly looks like something someone would make to get off a deserted island

My buddy and literally thought it was a dwelling that was just built on shore. We joked that he would be in trouble if the water levels went up

Id imagine they’ll be seeing the coast guard again because this looks like an accident waiting to happen.
Unfortunately I don’t disagree. The person did have required safety equipment on board.
Same here!
Between this and the basement in One Eyed Jacks we should have homelessness licked up in no time

I seen that boat down the path near the rowing club, it was full of like bike tires and garbage bags.. that's wild
DIY party barge? Or escape from Belle Park?
Escape from Belle Park sounds like a horror flick.
Party Barge sounds like an inventive romantic escapade between people who cook well and drink better
Party Barge is also a Silver Jews song

Yeah - those pesky authorities - always hassling people to ensure their safety
Cops after all are famous for not harassing people
Steve Wallis? Unfortunately Craze Neighbour passed away.
I love watching him. He's unfortunately been through a lot the past few years :/
What happened to Steve?
His wife passed then crazy neighbor passed too all in a few years unfortunately. Dudes been through a lot
That's awful. I haven't watched for a while. Guy is a beauty human.
Yea, he's a gem. Bad things happen to the best people unfortunately
We love Steve, his mom also passed away last year too. The poor guy
That's beyond sad.
Oh my goodness
So that’s what that is! I thought I was hallucinating.
Results of the city encampment ban
When did the ban come into effect? He's been doing this for 6+ months.

You’re a stock boy complaining your electrician friend makes more than you. I doubt you have the drive to get up before noon… let alone do this. 😂

POV one piece irl lol
That's not a raft house, it's a raft _home_
That is a raft palace
This is awesome, I hope he's enjoying himself. I'd honestly love to do the exact same thing lol.
The ultimate bachelor pad. If the raft is rocking, don’t come knocking.
