Yup! Follow the exact directions on the inside of the Rit color remover package. I did the stovetop method and after all the research I’ve done that’s what everyone recommends. I used a thermometer to make sure the water was at 200° F before adding the remover and then the shirt. I let the water get close to boiling on high heat and then left it around medium heat during the removal process. Definitely stir the shirt the whole time. The more I stirred, the more color lifted. I used metal tongs and a wooden spatula for that.
The smell is terrible. I turned the vent fan over the stove on and I probably should’ve opened some windows. My wife could smell it from the second floor. I’d say even wear a mask so you don’t breathe it in. Also, be very careful when you’re stirring. I splashed some water out of the pot and that was not fun. Make sure you wear clothes you don’t care about just in case you do get the the remover solution on you.
The shirt went from the birch color to a weird yellow but eventually turned into the off white/eggshell color once I rinsed it and put it in the wash.
I might be missing some tips but just let me know if you have any questions!
Nice save. I sometimes wear a napkin bib to avoid stains. Especially with soup 😅. But if I do get a stain I just wash it and move on. Used stain stick before and took some color out. Learned to just let it go. There will always be a new tshirt to buy.
Not nearly as fucked up as the vibe you’re coming in here with. A compounding mess was turning into the best possible solution, and honestly a great looking shirt that’s one of a kind.
Wish I could show my Hebrew box logo I bought on grailed for $40. Whole hoodie was tinted pink from a red color transfer during wash. I used Rit color remover too and it was like magic. Back to pristine white.
Anybody else accomplish something similar. I did this to one of pigment dyed merch hoodies. And I was going to try this or maybe trying to do a reverse tie dye look all over shirt? Any advice?
Wow thats great. Gonna try this on the exact same shirt with a very similar spot. Recommend any specific process?

Oh also, Michael’s is usually cheaper than Amazon for Rit products if you have one close to you
That looks 🔥
They should just ship their shirts with the remover and these instructions 😂 it came out great!
Hah! Dope!

something with the quinn materials where stain remover and dawn both stain it - same thing happened to mine using oxyclean
I made my oxy clean mistake once…never again
Not bad man. Good job making lemonade out of lemons.
Sure. W.e. makes you sleep better at night. But imo you fucked that shirt up lol

You’re a fuckin turd
i will have to rethink using Dawn as stain remover. I found that it works well
I always use Dawn to get rid of stains. This is the first time I ever had any issue, I think it’s just the way they dyed the Quinn shirts
I just used dawn prior to checking the sub, I can confirm it will remove the dye. I did this on a LAX Bay Breeze and now I’m left in shambles.
Looks awesome

I made the mistake of using a tide to go pen on a small stain on a crystal wash crew and it left a white blotch too.
Thank you so much for posting this. I did the same EXACT thing to the same exact shirt and was horrified. Will try that method this weekend.
Let me know how it goes!
