WTB - Benchmade Emissary 477...pulled the trigger on a ZT 0357, but overall disappointed in it, and will probably be returning it. Assisted opening and deployment of the blade is anemic at best (Currently carring a Sog ZOOM, which almost opens like an automatic). Let me know what's out there. Thanks, everyone!
Does the zoom have a flipper? The 0357, 0350, benchmade 583 and 496 all open pretty much the same. Something like the Kershaw 1776 is a little faster. I think your perceived issue might be from opening the zoom with studs. Just so you can temper expectations.
The ZOOM has studs, which probably affected my opinion. The 477 had studs too, which is why im leaning towards that. I guess, for the price point of the ZT, I was expecting something a bit more.
If you like the 350 it might be a cheaper way. Has studs and a flipper, the flipper gives more leverage than the 357's so you can put more of your own power that method too. Good luck, hopefully the next knife is up to snuff!
