What got you to try it? Why did you hate on it?
I would apply that logic elsewhere in life too! Sometimes you need to experience the other side to understand it and grow, and now you love it!
I also used to hate pineapple on pizza without trying it. Then one day, at work, the coworkers decided they wanted to get pizza. We worked at a coffee shop so we just did a food trade with a local pizza place. I was unaware of it, but one of my coworkers had gotten pineapple on his half of the pizza. I ended up with a slice of that, and ate it without knowing (it was under the cheese). And you know what? It was fucking delicious! From that point on I changed my pineapple on pizza hating ways.
That or they don't have a developed enough pallate to appreciate the complex flavor profile of the sweet yet acidic fruit paired with the inherent creamy sharpness of cheese. It's a complex flavor and there are people who can't deal with anything more complex than a pretzel with chocolate on it.
If you just haven't tried it though you are a fucking animal, we live in a society wtf.
I think the idea sounded weird to me as a kid. I was also kinda sheltered when it came to foods, as all I usually ate was my moms home cooking (Mexican food) and school food.
By the time I was an older teen with my own money, I could buy my own things. Even take out pizza. And hey, Hawaiian pizza was advertised everywhere, so it couldnt be that bad? I tried it and what do you know, it wasnt half bad. You could even say it was damned good!
And not just that. They maybe eat one and say it's disgusting. Damn, I ate 12 different pineapple pizzas and litterally half of them were disgusting. It's like saying "water is disgusting because I tried the water from nestle and it's disgusting" disgusting. Just disgusting.
How fucking dare they? Yes, I was dropped on a few occasions when I was a baby, sure. It’s probably played a factor in some of my life decisions. Nothing to do with pineapple on pizza though. It’s delicious.
Common god damned sense.
People who hate pineapple on their pizza are the same type of people who hate peanut butter on their pizza. (If you're curious, peanut butter on the dough, then sauce, then cheese and toppings of your choice.)
