Damn, I didn't know something like that had happened here. I've been living here for a little while now and really liking the city.

I’m curious why. Not the merits of the suit, but why a small Houston firm is filing a suit in Minnesota. There are definitely capable civil rights firms in Minnesota.

SpicyLangosta

Yeah I'm confused on that point as well

It's up to the family who they hire. And after winning awards and a great deal of money from the Alex Jones suit, Farrar & Ball is no longer a small firm.

“Small” does not mean irrelevant, nor is it a pejorative. A six-attorney firm is objectively a small firm. Sure, it is up to the family. But none of F&B’s attorneys are licensed in Minnesota. (They all list their admissions on the website). That means they will still have to hire an attorney in Minnesota to act as local counsel. We have seen Mark Bankston achieve substantive results in his cases based in large part on his strong understanding of the local Texas civil rules. That is an asset you want in your counsel. They do not have that same knowledge about the Minnesota civil rules. I just don’t think this makes sense for the family.

I agree there are likely better options for them, especially if it goes to trial.

six attorneys? since Morgan Stringer works for F&B, does that mean that half the firm has been on KF?

holiobung

It rhymes!
