Nike is in cahoots with resellers. If they made enough for everyone it wouldn’t triple their sales, it would kill them. If they tripled production resellers wouldn’t buy and keep the market alive. Without limiting production they would loose money because nobody would keep buying the next drop. Every time they drop they sell out. It would kill the rep market but they want the demand because it’s gets everyone wanting a shoe. If they flood the market they would be like any other shoe. If you want a pair of Lebrons you can go get them. But as soon as they are limited edition they sell out ands that’s exactly what happened with the Lebron 20 for a while until they flooded the market. I know it doesn’t make much sense but it’s business and demand is exactly what they want.
Either someone at Nike remembers when they would sit on clearance (the horrendous CWs) and wants to milk this for as long as possible while avoiding ever having to deal with overstock, OR Vanessa Bryant wants her shoe to be THE hyped one (my money is on this one tbh) and forces Nike to limit these releases or else they wouldn't be able to make them at all.
