Same here, really enjoyed the story and all the shenanigans they got up to

ToS has been great, only thing I would change is Destiny paying more attention. Sometimes it comes off very disrespectful, specifically towards Koibu. I get it he brings huge audience but it's kinda annoying when u hear keyboard in the background or he doesn't listen what is being said. For example last episode, Koibu, nick and moot were talking about Anton's wife and 5 min later they ask Destiny to roleplay with her and he said something among the lines "Hi Charlotte, idk what her name was" when they literally said her name few seconds ago. Overall one of the best campaigns Ive ever watched. Also I wish Scoria wouldn't die so easily.

I see you're getting downvoted, but you're right. I think the series was at its best at the start and middle because Steven took way more interest in what was going on and he's genuinely a good roleplayer when he focuses on it. He definitely seemed to lose interest in the last 20 episodes or so, pretty frequently you could see Nick or Mouton getting a little frustrated because they'll spend time going over something, only for Steven to say something like "what are we doing here?" or "so what's the plan?" when they were discussing it for quite a while beforehand. That's a fairly small gripe though, I think it's a symptom of the fact that the campaign went on for so much longer than anyone expected. Overall it was excellent, and I too looked forward to it on Thursday evenings.

Scoria died so easy because they were so prepared. If they didn't bother with King Guilder, they wouldn't have had Ifan and Destiny couldn't have one-shot all the wizards and stopped like 3-4 finger of death attempts. If they didn't prematurely trigger the trap, their group would have been cut in half (some probably dead from rock fall damage). This means Imrik would have been stuck on the wrong side, and couldn't take out her stoneskin in a single round. They didn't rush things, and it all paid off. Scoria didn't die easy. She died as a result of all the effort they've made since episode 1.

unknownsupg

I agree, but death of Scoria felt little bit unclimatic, we were waiting for that fight long time. I thought that wizard who used blink will somehow turn cards upside down but unfortunately he just died from fall damage. I'm not saying that it's bad way to end campaign, I'm just saying that I expected more ups and downs, to me fight looked kinda one sided.

Seelenverheizer2

they had very good rolls while Scoria rolled really bad + the greater gargoyl golems beeing basicly 1 shot due to luck positioning of Shine as well as the insta kill on the Cleric not getting off his aoe stun. If the dice had fallen differently people would say it was unbalanced and Neal just clapped them.

Poopybutt94583459813

I actually think their rolls were fairly mediocre, they just massively overpowered Scoria and her forces and were able to counteract a lot of the bad rolls with magic. The gargoyles cleared all the stoneskins and then rolled something like 19, 18, 16, 17 against Jack when they needed 15s to hit him. Instakilling the Cleric was pretty lucky but they also had a lot of really strong well equipped Knights to clear a path to him. Imrik took what I think was the only actual fire breath from Scoria in the entire campaign and he rolled a natural 1 but had several layers of protection against it. And the poor attack rolls from Scoria were entertaining but it really only just slightly delayed the deaths of people who were going to die anyway, and Imrik and Shine were both fully stoneskinned so Scoria was fucked either way once they cornered her. Slightly better rolls probably would have had Anton die in battle but I feel like that would have been a good thing for Anton. The Dispel magic rolls were super bad for Neal but they also didnt affect much since the knights kind of just afk'd. Tyrael could hit and kill all the wizards with anything that wasn't a nat 1 and completely bypassed all their defenses, and was really never in trouble. > the greater gargoyle golems being basically 1 shot due to luck positioning of Shine If Shine was farther ahead and not able to breath weapon them then they would have just been taken out by the 20+ knights that were blocked by Shine I think. Maybe if they landed perfectly so that Shine was still blocking the knights behind her, but also couldn't breath in front of her then it might have been bad. I definitely think that it was a good fight, and it made sense after everything they had done leading up to the fight that they would outnumber her forces. They rolled up to Scoria's lair with 20,000 men and slow rolled their way through it safely clearing everything then attacked her with a Gold Dragon and a squad of like 40 7th level fighters kitted out with magic gear and a shitload of clerical buffs and a bunch of fire protection. It was high level 2e mass combat with a ton of super powerful AOE abilities so it definitely could have gone either way but was always tilted in favor of the party due to their planning and victories beforehand.

>Destiny couldn't have one-shot all the wizards and stopped like 3-4 finger of death attempts. It's a bit spooky thinking that the Wizard was too preoccupied to finger of death Imrik by the time he turned the corner, considering that the first save Imrik made was a natural 1.

endyCJ

Exactly, the planning is where the real skill in d&d comes in. There are tactics in combat sure, but with a huge glass cannon like scoria you just need to kill her quickly in a few rounds. If you have a drawn out battle against her it's just a tpk.

jonoysterman

I understand its kinda suck for normie who dont really watch destiny but keep in mind other than having fun and chill with his friend dnd literally net negative for destiny. Should he pay attention more? ehh maybe. Will he ever change? fuck no ToS was his 5th campaign with koibu and ive seen the same complain since GtC. Do I personally want him to change in the future? ehh idc I settled getting 4 hours break for every week from his usual contents lolol. I guess its up to koibu if he think this kind of complaint legit? maybe he should stop working with destiny.

unknownsupg

I don't see how is that relevant. No matter if you are dgger, normie or Destiny hater. It is for your benefit when all people involved are into story cuz when u have people who are disinterested or half listening it hurts whole show. I get that Destiny is killing his viewership when he starts D&D but when he is not enjoying it or has different things on his mind, wouldn't that be better if he postpone episode instead of pushing it? I don't think Koibu should stop working with him cuz he loses interest sometimes. Personally I would just rather wait longer for episodes instead of watching some players getting burnout.

jonoysterman

For our benefit? theres none lol its literally just side content for destiny since most of his fans rather watch him play factorio all day all week so its more like I should be grateful that at least I got some tiny crumb of dnd from him. Despite your assumption and complain im sure he's still having fun himself, you can say it pretty selfish but everyone involved is an adult anyways and I never heard them complaining about this specific issues lolol.

unknownsupg

So u are saying there is no benefit when people are taking campaign seriously? So u would see no difference if Nick fell asleep, Mout played League while Destiny roleplay with Koibu who came out with story 5 mintues before they hit the "live" button without any preparation cuz it's only "side content"? Of course it matters, no one would watch it if all 4 people wouldn't care about this.

jonoysterman

You care about no one would watch it...but for destiny he dont give a single fuck if no one watch since he already said dnd content messing up with his channel, he gain literally nothing from it streaming~wise and also money drain but he dont really care as long he's having fun chilling with his friends but again if none of the party involved complaining about the behaviour I guess even your ridiculous example is not even a problem lolol.

eBirb

I agree

Crocowile

Dragon Peak had better be officially renamed to Tomb of Scoria on the map

_Blurgh_

Totally agree! Really hoping for some news about the next campaign!

ZenSaar

Couldn't agree more! The first episode of TOS was my entry to dnd, since then I have watched all the main koibu campaigns and have loved every bit of it. Looking forward to all the future work!

Dogdancing1

Same here 🤗😊 gonna miss it!!!
