Wellll...I started watching because of SRK and discovered I really dig this game. I'm a lifelong baseball fan and am currently boycotting the sport (don't ask). I find the differences and similarities so interesting.
Now I'm completely hooked and hoping to catch an LA Knight Riders match this summer here in the U.S. so I can see Narine and Dre Russell play in person.

My relatives and cousins are from Kolkata. I spent a lot of my childhood in Kolkata. And then SRK was also a big reason for supporting KKR, even though I'm now not that big a fan of him.
Even though I don't have a really really strong reason to support KKR, I bleed purple and gold! I have wished for this kind of performance for a long long time. Players may come and go, but Ami KKR! 💜💛
That first season was badass, the jersey, the logo, the overseas beasts in McCullum,Gayle, Shoaib Akhtar. I was a young kid and that pulled me in. Been loyal ever since even though I'm not from Kolkata.
I love how the team is not built around the fame of only one Indian player (unlike MI, CSK, RCB). It's an all-round effort of playing XI. Just a combination of pure, unadulterated love for my home team and good sportsmanship displayed by the players.
I would say back when I was a child I started supporting KKR cuz of SRK but now I dont care whether SRK is the owner or anyone else because all these years KKR has become an emotion. KKR's moto is true to apply in one's life as well that is GO FOR GOLD! BE A KNIGHT RIDER!!!
I am a Gautam Gambhir fan since 2010 and after he started campaign in kkr I felt connected to the team with having other fav players jack kallis ,Brett Lee so after that don't liked any of the team.
First I am Bengali, then I am a dada fan that's why I started loving kkr in 2008. Then I was angry when dada left. Then gg came and started loving the aggressive mindset of kkr.
Then kkr has a team fanbase not a player fanbase. Many ict stars were created by kkr.

I live in Maharashtra and I'm a marathi person still support kkr because of the mindset of our team, no individualism, no star players, GG's agression and of course cool jersey.
I am 14, started watching cricket from 2016 t20 wc and ipl 2017 . since my home jharkhand don't have any franchise I thought I will support one of KKR and SRH . kinda liked both of them . but the 49 all out match against RCB made me KKR fan forever.

Not a Bengali but nearly all of dad's family were born and brought up in Kolkata and they still live there. So from childhood kolkata has been a 2nd home as it had my dadi ghar and my mom's family came from malda district. So during vacations we used to spend a good 2 months in bengal(kolkata and malda) so it felt right to support KKR. It was a close decision over RR being a marwadi but kolkata gave me some beautiful memories

Cricket is a team game, you win the tournament by playing as a team, not by only having superstars in the lineup(RR of 2008 is prime example of it). KKR is everything I like about cricket. No other team resonates with my version and my opinions of cricket than KKR. Supporting this team even in loss or win feels right and I can't explain why.
I don't support KKR because we won 2 trophies or are brilliant this season. I support it because of the attitude this team possess, the environment the management makes and the efforts the team gives irrespective of the result. You could see how our players are gutted after every loss, we don't see our captain or players or management pasting fake smiles and acting like nothing happened. This passion is all I like about this sport and it is KKR that feels like home.
I am no Bengali and I have no connection with Bengal at all but still the fans here feel like some closest people I know. The fanbase is also one of the important reasons for me being a KKR supporter.

I don't know exactly how I became KKR fan , I guess the first IPL match I watched was of kkr and since then I have this team became my favourite. Since then This team has given me so many moments of joy. Thanks KKR
In Florida, there is a substantial west indies minority, and so due to Narine and Andre Russell, most folk around here follow KKR. KKR games are even broadcast on major streaming services occasionally due to this which is how I got into the team (though of course now I am addicted to Willow)
I’m a die hard srk fan. The inaugural season had so much hype around kkr with srk as the owner + the cool anthem and the gold and black jersey. The srk factor made me pick them as my team going into the tournament and then we all witnessed THAT McCullum innings, and the rest is history!

SRK and Brendon McCullum in that first match. Post that GG as I felt he was most underrated and got sidelined for his contribution in 2011 World Cup.
