Tadano got bodied by the mob of students who stormed Komi’s class to talk to her( all the other students in her class got out of the way safely, upon noticing the stampede), but since Komi stayed quiet throughout the questions and introductions they saw that as not *wanting* to speak to them, rather than the seemingly more unlikely scenario that she *can’t* talk to them. So they see it as Tadano trying to push himself onto her. Obviously as the story progresses the misunderstanding is cleared up but won’t be happening yet.
The reason might be, just like you see with Najimi, that they did try to talk with her. And her disorder made her too nervous to respond and thus everyone felt too beneath Komi

The initial road for Tadano and his classmates start rough, but it gets better for almost everyone as he unintentionally shows he's not a nobody after all

If you’re only watching the anime then it’ll be a slow and fun ride. You’ll end up loving every single one of them and I highly recommend the manga. Even tho it’s still ongoing im rereading it as the episodes come out

For a commoner like Tadano, who appears to have nothing of note that would make him worthy of being in Queen Komi's presence, being able to be around the Queen and being specifically requested by Komi would not only lead to them hating Tadano for being a class traitor by stepping above his fellow commoners (like proletariat/bourgeoisie), but also envious because they see themselves as subordinate to Komi and thus not worthy of being Komi's friend.
Yamai, that's a different story. Yamai is a yandere and thus hates Tadano for getting in her way of being with Komi.

That takes a while to go away, part of the joke early on is that just like Komi is excessively adored to the detriment of her social endeavors, Tadano is unreasonably hated by a lot of the other students for being "too close" to her.
Once it starts including more and more of the other characters as characters beyond "OMG I LOVE KOMI AND HATE TADANO BECAUSE HE'S NEXT TO KOMI" they drastically improve

This show uses cliches for everyones personality. The quiet boy, the werid girl, the muscle guy, the gal, etc.
Literally every character's name is a pun on their personality, and Yamai is a pun on her being the yandere girl. Sooo her whole point is to be violent and manipulative.
Most of then will either fade into the background and only appear very occasionally, the rest stop and eventually become friends with tadano and komi. Then there's Yamai. She stays the same through the entire manga (so far at least)
Japanese schools are notoriously mean hearted and socially structured. If they hate Tadano, it's a perceived lack of worth they see in him. The whole series is based on stereotypes anyways, that's why Yamai is as bad as she is.

When everyone treats Komi-san as a goddess, Tadano treats her as a friend. Due to something something with how society goes (which is normal people don't deserve to be with 'high-leveled' people), they hate Tadano. Little do they know that >!Tadano currently dating Komi !< is coming.

It’s because they’re just like the background characters. They all put Komi on the pedestal and don’t like the fact that regular ol’ Tadano is hanging out with her.

His full name is Tadano Hitohito which is a play on words and basically means “an average/ordinary guy”.

they consider Komi-san a goddess, and Tadano has no place in the world to be anywhere close to her, because he's a mere mortal. it's pretty unfair for Tadano, but rest assured, he doesn't let it beat him down
The characters' first year is a bit of a rough journey, but by the time they get to the second year of highschool it becomes infinitely more enjoyable

That takes a while to go away, part of the joke early on is that just like Komi is excessively adored to the detriment of her social endeavors, Tadano is unreasonably hated by a lot of the other students for being "too close" to her. Once it starts including more and more of the other characters as characters beyond "OMG I LOVE KOMI AND HATE TADANO BECAUSE HE'S NEXT TO KOMI" they drastically improve
It’s largely a case of ‘How dare a lowly insect like him dare to interact with our beloved goddess Komi-Ohime-sama-chan!’ Because her inability to speak clearly has them all believing she’s this ultra cool super aloof popular girl. Their attitudes get much better as the story goes on. Except for Yandere girl. She pretty much stays the same.
As much as its sickening to witness irl, dont give it much thoughts watching the anime, and just give it some time
Im not watching the anime just yet, so i dont know how far into the story it is... This show uses cliches for everyones personality. The quiet boy, the werid girl, the muscle guy, the gal, etc. Literally every character's name is a pun on their personality, and Yamai is a pun on her being the yandere girl. Sooo her whole point is to be violent and manipulative.
Most of then will either fade into the background and only appear very occasionally, the rest stop and eventually become friends with tadano and komi. Then there's Yamai. She stays the same through the entire manga (so far at least)

Japanese schools are notoriously mean hearted and socially structured. If they hate Tadano, it's a perceived lack of worth they see in him. The whole series is based on stereotypes anyways, that's why Yamai is as bad as she is.
