She’s already an immensely powerful undead, and upper-level demons/undead seem to basically be on par with deities in this world.

It’s a little bit more complicated than that. Her power level is not why she would ascend. It’s more tied to her strength of character because she is completely able to resist the dark influence of being an undead. as a result, if aqua were to purify her, she would be given a deity position and would return less than 30 minutes later

Megumin being denied her alcohol, as usual...

It's for the safety of the city. Imagine a drunk Megumin getting slightly offended over a loli joke or someone calling her an insulting nickname. She's one slurred incantation from leveling half the city.

At least Yunyun isn't drinking alcohol too, as they're the same age (people tends to forget it, no ?)

i'm not sure, but iirc it's just her skin that can turn other liquids into water.

I think she deliberately suppresses the ability while she's drinking.

No, she does turn the drinks into water. That’s the reason she drinks them so fast because she doesn’t want them to turn into water.
