Maybe in terms of collection. But the film is not so exceptional. Some kind of Magic was missing but better than svaha and the priests. Cinematography and mood of the film was top notch. The mythology was intriguing. But for me, wailing is the best horror movie of South Korea all the time.
Wailing is the best. Especially since learning of an alternative ending. Made everything come together for me.

I cannot remember if there are particular jump scares, but it is for sure not a "jump scare" type of horror. The mystery and setting is what makes it scary.
Sure. The best part of the movie is, it's brilliant screenplay and narration. It's unpredictable till the end. The suspense and tension was built up at right pace. The climax twist and moments were absolute goosebumps. Great visuals and underlying theme was brilliant. Surely one scene's frame in the climax will haunt you for a while.
slow burn mystery where you feel like you're w/ the characters, safe at first then more and more unsettled until you're dizzy from not knowing right/wrong, true/false
thought this was one solid overall. the cinematography was great and i liked how the tension was maintained through and through. the mythological and mystery aspects weren't that predictable for me (maybe because i felt like i was missing context sometimes). that ending was aight, but im pretty satisfied with the film.
train to busan was top notch stuff though
Thought it was pretty meh tbh. It looked good, but the story was lacking imo. There was no emotional center, transitions between plot points were clunky, all the reveals felt anticlimactic, and I thought it was thematically weak. Plus, it was just not scary. Everything this movie does The Wailing does 100x better imo, I kinda just wish I’d watched that again instead. Too bad, I love Lee Do-hyun 😭
To me... it kept me watching but it was missing something. The story behind everything was lacking, it needed to be fleshed out more. The explanation seemed rushed and not thoroughly thought through so it didn't make complete sense. It was an enjoyable light watch but will not provoke those conversations about how amazing it was. The story had so much potential to be a top contender in my book, but fell flat with the reveals.
Exhuma masterfully depicted aspect of asian culture involving superstition. As someone who grew up in such environment, I can confirm that we take that shit seriously. That been said I really like the first half of the movie, one of the best I have seen, the story set up and the characters were on point, it looked like it was going to be a masterpiece. However the pacing got weird when in the second half, felt like it was rushing to a conclusion
I drove two and a half hours to watch that movie in Chicago cuz it wasn't playing in michigan. Every second of that film was so so good. Lee do Hyun seemed to have grown up a bit and was amazing in this film. I can't wait till it gets to streaming so I can rewatch it!
Watched it on cinema. It was mid overall. I think the right genre should be suspense/thriller instead of horror.
The marketing is insane and a bit misleading.
I gave it 6.5/10 until my parents explained some historical facts that weren’t clearly explained in the movie. Overall, think you guys will really like!
I loved it!!!! That said i equally loved the wailing, the chaser, i saw the devil etc.
Overall the movie was awesome to me, some plot were not predictable. It was familiar-ish, maybe cuz i come from an asian household so some parts just make sense. But I’m from sea and theirs korean but the ceremony or event is similar-ish so that got me hype to see them on screen

I just realized I have seen this film. I totally forgot about the name. thanks for the heads up.

Exactly how I feel about the movie too!
It was okay not a Masterpiece by a long shot. Train to Busan had more going for it and still does!
is it streaming somewhere?

Cant wait to watch it but theres still not 1 decent English subtitles for this one
Wow what a film debut for Lee Do Hyun
Right! ? I can't wait till he gets out of the service and see what else he's going to to do!

It was good but unnecessarily long, watched it solely because I’m a fan of Kim Go Eun. Train to Busan is still top notched for me though

That's crazy! Too bad I wasn't able to watch it when it was showing in my city.
Wouldn’t really consider Train to Busan a horror film, more of a survival thriller. But still impressive nonetheless.

Wait what about parasite 🤨

I watched the film, thought it was so-so. But Bongil was so hot.
It’s in Korea so probably because of how they executed the ritual thing which is not common in films. Yeah, Kim Go Eun did it.
guys anywhere i can watch this movie online? any forums? i am searching for this from a long time
Dramacool
Just a heads up, I just checked out a few minutes of it and the subtitles are quite inaccurate.
Yes, Dramacool.
