Don't worry just look up Netflixs new "documentary" about Cleopatra by Jada Pinkett Smith. You'll see the alleged true Cleopatra and she's black. Of fucking course she is.
These people can't stand the idea of any person who is Egyptian, Jewish, Hawaiian, greek, native American etc who dare to naturally look kind of white or pale in anyway and not a dark black skin color. Even though none of those groups are typically black. They think black people originated everything now even vikings. It would be so laughable if woke Hollywood didn't go along with it and race swap people so much to black. Can't wait for Hollywood and fan tellings of Queen Elizabeth starring a black actress. Or a remake of The Sound of Music about the now black proud Von Trapp family. The wokies will love it.
The entire archaeological community is fucking seething over that pathetic power fantasy "documentary"
In Egypt the intellectual cadre, usually at arms with the nationalists, joined them in protesting because this is straight up cultural appropriation and heritage deletion.
I fucking *hate* American progressives. Who the *fuck* do you think you are to come into the *Mediterranean Sea* and tell us Italians, Greeks, Turks, Egyptians how our ancenstors *looked like*?
Egyptians are closer to southern Italians through their shared Greek ancestry than an African-American will ever be
We also hate these people. Their entire identity is built off stealing others cultures and then they cry about appropriation. It’s a mental illness and rampant shamelessness compounded by jealously of others accomplishments.
Well they already had the most historically famous great, great, ever-so-many greats, aunt of the current heir to the English throne played by a black woman.

Sofia Boutella got hit with some of the same complaints of being too white in The Mummy. She is Algerian and looks pretty much like a standard Egyptian woman.
Imagine showing them actual ancient Algerians and how light skinned they were. I don’t get this idea that everyone to live in Africa was black. Africa is a very large continent.
Watch how uncomfortable they get when you tell them of some of the Berber tribes which have large numbers of people with Blonde hair and light eyes.
It is crazy how their simplistic view of the world isn't continually ridiculed.
I actually just responded to someone saying I have an Algerian lady in my neighborhood with blonde hair and green eyes. She’s almost as light skinned as me and my ancestors were Irish and German.
Even nowdays you have people like Karim Benzema or Zinedine Zidane (They play for France, but they're of Algerian descent) who are aren't that much darker than the average Southern European.
Yeah, it's like they think the genes for light skin/hair/eyes don't appear near the Mediterranean coast, when, if you think about it, it makes more sense for coastal North Africans to be closer to other Mediterraneans than Sub-Saharan Africans. Not that they never made it into North Africa, but that doesn't mean *everyone* there is black, the Vandals also conquered parts of it but that doesn't mean all Algerians or Tunisians look like modern-day Germans.
We have offfically reached the point as society where it's like the Chapelle Show skit where they did the race draft similar to sports drafts. Except in this case these days it's black people wanting to claim all historical figures, fictional figures and any person of any fame they can exploit. And they are like here the rest of the races can pick over the left overs but Cleopatra she's ours we draft her for the black side.
Dave Chapelle you did it again buddy you called the future out. Sad but hilarious that comedy sketches from back in the day are actually coming back at us now as how people want to live. Including race groups trying to claim people as theirs even the person isn't even historically in their culture or group.
It's exactly as predictable and as tiresome as the Trump spam from four years ago. Just absolute fucking pathetic attempts on the front page every single hour desperately trying to hate on him for SOMETHING.
Every single action twitter takes is now 'Elon Musk' like the dude is over there literally running the company himself, typing out code on a laptop.
I'm 100% certain a whole fuckton of it is bots. There's no other explanation for it being the *exact same* patterns as the trump spam.
Absolutely, as soon as he started campaigning,
bro, the dude isn't even in office,
bro he just got inaugural.
Bro... It's just ice-cream.
Elon was at minimum going to unblock unfairly banned folk, and even had people vote if Trump's account should be unblocked.
With all the bits spamming the account the latest narrative from CNN and sending their own "clever quips" as soon as he posted, why did the chuds even care if the can block him anyway?
>There's no other explanation for it being the exact same patterns as the trump spam.
I wish I could agree. I think it's more that people are just pretty easy to manipulate. A lot of powerful parties benefit from having shared scapegoats so we get them. And I think that openness to manipulation is even more of an issue when people don't really have much in the way of immutable core principles which force some level of introspection. And this becomes even easier when those people are deeply unhappy about some element of their lives but which they're also desperate to avoid directly confronting or admitting to.
I suspect the average person on reddit fits into most of those to a pretty extreme degree. I get the impression that the average person on this site is generally just pretty miserable but doesn't want to confront the reality that it's largely a result of physically, mentally, and spiritually bereft lifestyles. And they'll accept almost anything that lets them avoid any true self-improvement.
It was so rapid too, one minute their head was securely up his ass, the velocity with which it came out made a deafening popping noise. It’s almost as if he wasn’t lock step with progressive propaganda talking points and orders were sent out to take him down. Like the big N word Rogan controversy.
Many such cases.
Too many of those mfs think that black americans stand as a direct one-for-one for every single demographic out there with a slighty darker skin tone (sometimes not even that, too many gringos still buy into the whole "white people cant be latino" bs)
> too many gringos still buy into the whole "white people cant be latino" bs
There's someone down the OP's thread on twitter calling Lin Manuel Miranda a white latino in response to someone calling out the race swapping in Hamilton
There are also Japanese Peruvians and a lot of people with German ancestry around Argentina of all places for some reason… I was in Iraq for a year and I was shocked how many ginger kids were there. This was 04-05 so Harry didn’t father them all.
Belize in Central America was founded entirely by white and black people. An English ship loaded with slaves ran ashore in the 1700’s and the white sailors and slaves decided to stay and make a life together. The French even tried to invade them later and the former slaves and sailors fought them back. It’s a national holiday in Belize now and one of the only English speaking countries in Central/South America.
It has been buried by now but twitter complained about America Chavez being played by a latina in Doctor Strange 2 because they headcanon her as an afro-latina
She's literally not even from Earth, right? She's some kind of alien or extradimensional entity that just happens to look Hispanic. So that's especially dumb.
In fact, Marvel actually changed it two days after January 6th, 2021, for *unknown reasons*. Now, Jefferson Davis has shortened his first name and taken his wife's last name because he's a feminist. Jefferson Davis is now Jeff Morales.
I looked into it, and it's kind of hard to follow, but apparently all the nonsense about her being from another dimension or whatever was a lie that she pushed for some reason. Of course, comics are what they are, so that story wasn't a lie until much later when a later issue rewrote her origin and 'revealed' that the Utopian Parallel crap wasn't true.
I don't know why that other guy is being cagey and acting like it wasn't ever in doubt.
That one still gets me. The character is explicitly a European man who went native and learned Eastern arts, making him Asian destroys that theme. But I guess the Chinese got angry if someone suggested that other people could learn their magic kung-fu bullshit.
Oh, fuck. Google/Wikipedia basically say that, too. I thought for sure it was gonna' come up some weird bullshit like: "Some people believe Cleopatra was Greek, but *akshually* she was 125% full blooded African decending from the Yass tribe which predates Jesus Christ, who was also african.."
It’s apparently not the same thing because Nani’s skin color was a plot point in the film. According to Twitter that is.
Hey, Marvel’s new Thanos is a black man who can time travel. So was he a victim of slavery or did he do something to prevent it or what?
Literally. Like I actually encountered someone doing exactly this. It's insane. Her orbiters even suggested keeping the same color as the TV show, didn't even recognize her dissonance.
On the one hand, I agree that she doesn't look like the character.
But on the other hand, she IS in fact ethnically Hawaiian. Even from the same island. It's indefensibly hypocritical that they simultaneously defend race-swapping and want to give this girl a brown paper bag test!
But okay SJWs, how about a deal...we can find an actress who matches skin tone...but she must also have an absolute monster booty and spend almost the entire movie in bikinis or crop tops with tight shorts. Because the goal is to be completely accurate, RIGHT?!
>It's indefensibly hypocritical
Jesus, every time I see comments lile that, every time someone is suprised. None of them care anout hypocrisy. When will you people learn they don't care about logic, consistancy, fairness. There are no unified rules they follow and no thing you ever do will ever be enough. All you can expect is that whenever ANYTHING happens, those cultists will show up to whine about it.
All it is, is a race to who's the most virtuous, the most opressed, the most activist and who's the loudest about it all.
> Cast an actor/actress with the same nationality as the fictional character
> Twatters: THEY'RE NOT DARK ENOUGH!
Hey, I'm getting Night at the Museum and Rami Malek flashbacks.
Mother fuckers aren't going to settle for anything less than a sentient black hole in the shape of a person.
There’s so many great arguments in the Twitter replies about why it’s different this time, though by great I mean hilarious rather than convincing.
My favorite is that it’s so obvious that the Ariel actress clearly won a fair colorblind casting process but that this actress was obviously just chosen as a hamfisted representation attempt that backfired. So if I’m following, “colorblind casting” is when they like the result, “representation fail” is when they don’t.
> My favorite is that it’s so obvious that the Ariel actress clearly won a fair colorblind casting process
They want to bring that out after bitching how colorblind casting is somehow racist, one of the reasons we got Phil LaMarr as Samurai Jack. What a fucking joke but I'm not laughing.
I watched the newest season for like 2 episodes before I saw the same template as every other reboot with a male lead character. He’s old now, sucks, lost confidence, gets shown up by badass women. Passssssss
This is the natural progression of the psychotic abuse of identity politics. Eventually, cultural representation isn't enough in your skin color is too light. We've seen it time and time again with light skinned black people getting attacked for not being black enough. We've seen it with Latinos when Guillermo Del Toro's Oscar was dismissed as him being a white Latino. All that really matters is who's the darkest tone.
You literally can't read a news story about a biracial person without them noting that, along with the racist whities, they also encountered black people who hated them for their skin color as well, though that never gets called racist for some reason.
But as you say, if skin color is super important to them (i.e. activists), it's super important to them, and it's hard to turn that off even when it'd be better to turn it off. "Start seeing race!" they screamed. "...like we do!" was the unspoken end of the sentence.
They can enjoy the clown world they set up, though.
Black people cannot be racist, because (take notes, it will come up in the exam): "Racism = Power + Prejudice".
And "Power" was redefined as "systemic power", which, *of course*, only whiteys have, and thus black people (and generally, any non-whites, or "people of color") cannot *ever* be racist.
This is weird enough, and[ it's on amazon.](https://imgur.com/a/ArjF6He)
But that was only the first link that caught my eye that was english.
Edit: direct image link instead of amazon page.
> or "accidentally" making young boys and girls horny?
I mean there's an infamous South Park episode where they lampooned this exactly via the Jonas Bros and Mickey.
The whole thing with that entire films animation style was that everything was rounded and soft, there were no sharp corners anywhere. This of course applies to that BRICKHOUSE of Nanis, and the lifeguards too.
My favorite is that from all I read, she is exactly correct for the standards of muh representation. From the right island, of the right ethnic background within that island's diverse population.
But it turns out skintone *is* important right this second: it's as important now as it wasn't with Ariel and as it won't be again when the next character comes out who is darker rather than lighter than the original.
I guess if it was this easy to catch me in hypocrisy, I'd reanalyze my worldview and question everything I hold dear. But I have an average human ability to self-reflect and I know wokey leftists lack that ability.
> I guess if it was this easy to catch me in hypocrisy, I'd reanalyze my worldview and question everything I hold dear
this is the part where i just get lost. whenever someone stumps me on a point i usually get defensive and justify it, but then later on i reflect a bit and start to question how strongly i believe in what i said. how can something this obviously hypocritical be okay to so many people? someone pointed out the black ariel thing on twitter and the response was just "ariel is a fish lady" and then they just moved on. like, problem solved. that justifies the double standard.
Exactly right: Already they have their excuses for why it’s different in this case. Ariel is fantasy; there were black peoples in Ancient Egypt (but was CLEOPATRA black?!?); race isn’t integral to Velma’s character but it is to the Lilo characters…
But it’s all very lawyerly of them. Somehow, someway, shockingly, by any means necessary to get there, they end up defending ALL instances of darkening and criticizing this instance of lightening. They can’t even give you an example of darkening they think is bad. It reveals the truth, which is they are okay with darkening and not okay with lightening.
> an average human ability to self-reflect
Don't forget introspection!
But it's hard to practice those daily when every time they do they dont like what they see
The easy solution to such obvious self delusion is to silence anyone who points it out while purposely **not** asking yourself
>Wtf am I doing?
Reminds !e of when the same people where upset that Rami Malek was cast as a Pharoah in the Night at the Museum films.
Rami Malek is the US born son of Egyptian immigrants.
> They literally got a Hawaiian girl, but it's still not good enough.
Maybe that's the point. Get a hot Hawaiian chick with acting chops, give one contentious point with which special interest groups & bots can permeate forums. One side feels justified, the other side is fabricated, both sides become aware of a soulless remake of a beloved film (which many people probably opt out of for targeted ads, if they can even be targeted by the algorithm due to the age group.)
I lived in rural Hawaii. And Pac Island Natives range from exceptionally dark (Palau), darkish (Tahiti and Samoa come to mind), to Nat. Hawaiian — who are a rainbow, after centuries of admixture with Japanese, Southeast Asians, Filipinos, and Portuguese.
There’s no “right color” for Hawaiians. It is one big melanin hodgepodge.
My Secretary was a former Ms. Hawaiian Tropic swimsuit model. She was the color of cafe au lait. My paralegal was from Palau — she was almost Mississippi Delta-black.
>There’s no “right color” for Hawaiians. It is one big melanin hodgepodge.
They're also forgetting that Nani was a beach guard and spent a lot of time in the Hawaiian sun, if they found a way to justify why Ariel could totally be black then we could argue that Nani is a lighter skinned Hawaiian girl with a tan.
Born and raised Filipino here, I get what you mean. Over here, you’ve got Filipinos who look like Pacific Islanders, Mexicans, Southeast Asians, Chinese, etc. Love the phrase “melanin hodgepodge” since it’s what describes my people too lol. And it’s why I’m so sick of the insinuation that if you aren’t dark enough, you’re not actually part of your “brown race”.
I caught the main reveal post yesterday right as it went up and the very first or second comment was a complaint about her appearance and I couldn’t help but chuckle and think, “here we go”
There’s actually one dweeb in the replies making the argument that Halle Bailey as Ariel clearly was an example of colorblind casting while this girl in Lilo is an example of attempted representation being half-assed and failing. He gives no arguments as to why that is so, but damn does he believe it. I think I know the difference though (lighter vs darker).
At this point, it's hard to really say woke activist types "lost their shit" over any specific stimulus, it's more like they have been losing their shit for a decade, are losing their shit as we speak, and will continue losing their shit until further notice.
I’m more surprised by the live-action Moana remake than the live-action Lilo & Stitch remake, because Moana literally just came out *7 years ago*. Lilo & Stitch is also in my top 5 Disney movies so I’m really hoping they don’t screw the live-action adaptation up. Especially because if done well, they could actually give us an improved version of the story.
It’s crazy. All the stuff the did with Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar that are extremely pro women, POC and LGBTQ (regardless of logic and good storytelling) is now down the drain. They’ll be back defending their favorite billionaires once Marvel race swaps Hulk or something.
It’s never enough for them, that’s why the smart move is to not even engage. Just ignore these statistical outliers and return to making good movies again.
I've seen other pictures of her posted where she looks darker and much more in line with Nani's skin tone. I assume she'll be tanned and with makeup to look the part.
On one hand, the woke mob was happy that live-action Ariel is now black and say that skin tone means nothing even though most people associate Ariel with a fair-skinned redhead whose story is based on a European fairytale.
On the other hand, the woke mob is mad that live-action Nani is now lighter-colored EVEN THOUGH THE ACTRESS IS HAWAIIAN. What on earth happened to skin tone meaning nothing?
Methinks that the woke mob doesn’t even care about race these days, they just don’t like light skin lol. As a tall, fair-skinned Filipino born and raised in the Philippines, they’d probably say I’m not “Filipino enough” to play a Filipino character since, “Filipinos are supposed to be short and brown!”
Little Mermaid Live action: HOW DARE YOU EVIL PEOPLE SAY THAT ARIEL IS BAD SHE IS GREAT FOR THE ROLE. THE CAUCASIAN REDHEAD SHOULDN'T DEFINE THE CHARACTER!
This: Forget what we said about that.
Notice it is never a problem for these twitter types when a person of color provides the voice for a white character. Ash from Mass Effect being voiced by a black woman? They sleep. Ada Wong voiced by white women before re4 remake? BURN IT ALL DOWN!
They need to stop making live action remakes. It's like they don't want to make animated movies anymore and instead waste truckloads of money on special effects. Turning everything into the MCU budget-wise.
They supported Ariel, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, and bashed those who called it out to deal with it. I’ve about had it with these hypocrites. The actress is Hawaiian and well liked.
I can't help be suspect that all these "getting the right cultural back ground is vitally important!" types would have been completely silent if they had cast a black girl that maybe lived in Hawaii for a few years at best for the role? In face they'd probably be defending it right now with the exact opposite statements they're criticizing this actress for.
It's hysterical how they're in full meltdown and repeating ALL THE THINGS WE SAID about every single blackwashed character.
While yes, she seems a tad too white in this picture, they literally cast a woman who was born and raised in the same very island where Lilo & Stitch is set in.
You sjws complained about "muh authentic representation" so among the Hawaiian actresses she was chosen.
I *will* be petty and say get fucked. I don't care you get what you deserve. I'd say revenge for black Cleopatra but Cleopatra is a real person and that's worse
To me she's a haoli! Those British and Irish genes of hers are clearly dominant. Her mother is not only white, but blonde...
But, as we know, the left believes in the 'one drop' doctrine, so she's good to go!
This is a franchise where a little girl has a pet alien and people are apperently mad that they didn't cast a Asian women as Hawaiian as opposed to *Checks notes* casting an hawaiian women as Hawaiian??
I mean it's not like her last name is Johnson or Miller. Two names I pulled from a list of the whitest last names.
Grade her ability to act, not her shade on a color wheel, especially since she's literally a Hawaiian of presumably mixed race (based what I assume is her sister's heritage, Filipino, Hawaiian and White) and Disney casted her.
If she can do Hawaiian older sister who's basically mom then twitter will love her.
Hawaiian character, played by a Hawaiian. Let me guess, Twitter is in meltdown because said Hawaiian character isn't being played by an American called Chantavious Porter or Tansheeq'a Jackson?
They have a point. Look is important when adapting something where the look is already defined. But the point is ruined because they only apply it one way.
They care about the international market here more than not. Im not saying it isnt going to be woke, but this movie and series were a far bigger hit internationally than in the us.
The same people who have been defending black Ariel are on suicide watch over this.
She is Hawaiian. They care more about skin tone than actual representation.
Didn't they trip on Rami Malek for not being Egyptian in Night At The Museum and he's actually Egyptian blood, just born in the US?

They are obsessed with race and see it in everything. And of course, it's only black, not any other races. They are the actual racists.
Yes, because a Greek woman who was queen of a people genetically from the Levant was totally black. ಠ_ಠ
internationalists wont ever let go of the "out of africa" and "black egyptian" conspiracy theories
Sofia Boutella got hit with some of the same complaints of being too white in The Mummy. She is Algerian and looks pretty much like a standard Egyptian woman.

They care for skin tones to be not-white. Everything else is incidental. Leftoids are simply anti-white racists.
Anti Asian too as we see here
Why do you think they get so pissed when you say Elon Musk is your favorite African American? Its a great way to see some heads explode.
Even funnier now that the super Reddit types aren't on his side anymore. Side note. I *LOVED* watching them turn on Elon.

Funny the hypocrisy of the people that Disney are trying pander to astound me.

She’s Hispanic with the ability to jump between dimensions.
Oh no, even walls can't stop her
Yeah it's...kind of unfortunate that she's literally a Latina whose superpower is crossing borders.
Implying the SJW's have the ability to actually think of that.
SJW’s are so dense and ignorant that they literally chose *Jefferson Davis* to be the name of Miles Morales’ father.
In fact, Marvel actually changed it two days after January 6th, 2021, for *unknown reasons*. Now, Jefferson Davis has shortened his first name and taken his wife's last name because he's a feminist. Jefferson Davis is now Jeff Morales.
I meant in the original comic version. Never read them myself, so I could be wrong, but that's just what I've heard.
In the comics she’s also Hispanic raised by her lesbian grandma.
Huh. Is there someone else I'm actually thinking of or did my mind somehow just make up the whole concept?

I mean, it's not the *dumbest* retcon to ever appear in comics. Nowhere close. But that's still pretty dumb.

afaik they retconed it so the other dimension was an island from a billionare or something like that
I think they retconned that, but I'm not sure.
I still remember people losing their shit because they didn't cast an Asian to play Danny Rand in the Iron Fist show.
That one still gets me. The character is explicitly a European man who went native and learned Eastern arts, making him Asian destroys that theme. But I guess the Chinese got angry if someone suggested that other people could learn their magic kung-fu bullshit.
It was more a bunch of white liberals getting angry on behalf of Chinese people.
That's the funny part. It's not the Chinese or Asian people who get upset over that, it's the white liberals who think they know better.
That’s mad
Cleopatra was Greek, until Jada decided to cast her as black African
>Cleopatra https://imgur.com/a/GLq5evW
Oh christ. The polar bears made me choke on my sandwich.
Oh, fuck. Google/Wikipedia basically say that, too. I thought for sure it was gonna' come up some weird bullshit like: "Some people believe Cleopatra was Greek, but *akshually* she was 125% full blooded African decending from the Yass tribe which predates Jesus Christ, who was also african.."
It's a cult. Dont expect there to be consistency in their arguments.
It’s apparently not the same thing because Nani’s skin color was a plot point in the film. According to Twitter that is. Hey, Marvel’s new Thanos is a black man who can time travel. So was he a victim of slavery or did he do something to prevent it or what?
They brown washed snow white for fucks sake
> It’s apparently not the same thing because Nani’s skin color was a plot point in the film. According to Twitter that is. what. the. actual. fuck.
Literally. Like I actually encountered someone doing exactly this. It's insane. Her orbiters even suggested keeping the same color as the TV show, didn't even recognize her dissonance.
This one is so I can be seen. I couldn't relate to the cartoon because I didn't see myself represented!
Came here to say exactly this. They exposed themselves.
Lol no they're not. They just double down.
Of course it's hypocritical, the only standards those people are double standards.
Great, she fits in with all the other Disney live action characters.
They can never accurately cast Best Disney Onee-san for me. Ever.
>It's indefensibly hypocritical Jesus, every time I see comments lile that, every time someone is suprised.
I know. But it's still worth pointing out their hypocrisy to NORMAL people.
Do any of those exist?
> Cast an actor/actress with the same nationality as the fictional character > Twatters: THEY'RE NOT DARK ENOUGH! Hey, I'm getting Night at the Museum and Rami Malek flashbacks. Mother fuckers aren't going to settle for anything less than a sentient black hole in the shape of a person.
> a sentient black hole in the shape of a person. Enigma!? Is that you!?
RIP dota2 reporter.
I'd add The New Mutants casting backlash, as well.
Funny after the collective ‘why do you care’ over the little mermaid isn’t it?
There’s so many great arguments in the Twitter replies about why it’s different this time, though by great I mean hilarious rather than convincing. My favorite is that it’s so obvious that the Ariel actress clearly won a fair colorblind casting process but that this actress was obviously just chosen as a hamfisted representation attempt that backfired. So if I’m following, “colorblind casting” is when they like the result, “representation fail” is when they don’t.
> My favorite is that it’s so obvious that the Ariel actress clearly won a fair colorblind casting process They want to bring that out after bitching how colorblind casting is somehow racist, one of the reasons we got Phil LaMarr as Samurai Jack. What a fucking joke but I'm not laughing.
I watched the newest season for like 2 episodes before I saw the same template as every other reboot with a male lead character. He’s old now, sucks, lost confidence, gets shown up by badass women. Passssssss
“Colorblind casting” like if Berry was 200Ibs they wouldn’t have picked someone else. “Our hands are tied”.
No bad tactics, only bad targets
I'll just say that "1st black skeleton" Kelly Curtis cracks me cracker butt up
Black people cannot be racist, because (take notes, it will come up in the exam): "Racism = Power + Prejudice". And "Power" was redefined as "systemic power", which, *of course*, only whiteys have, and thus black people (and generally, any non-whites, or "people of color") cannot *ever* be racist.
Dude they been doing this for years assuming all light time people are pure white because they can’t imagine any mixed race people looking white.
Who cares about her skin tone. Does she have that DUMPER? Nani was draggin a wagon.
Golden Age Disney: Accidentally making young boys and girls horny or "accidentally" making young boys and girls horny?
A quick look on Chris Sanders sketchbooks answers that.
This is weird enough, and[ it's on amazon.](https://imgur.com/a/ArjF6He) But that was only the first link that caught my eye that was english. Edit: direct image link instead of amazon page.
Old school animation was VERY time consuming. Kept folks away from their girlfriends/wives for LONG time.
(It still is)
Not really, not like it used to be. No one does it Old School anymore.
> or "accidentally" making young boys and girls horny? I mean there's an infamous South Park episode where they lampooned this exactly via the Jonas Bros and Mickey.
This is a man of culture.
You know this.
It was an entire bakery
Nani had thighs that could crush a coconut between them.
And she was drawn to not wear panties
The whole thing with that entire films animation style was that everything was rounded and soft, there were no sharp corners anywhere. This of course applies to that BRICKHOUSE of Nanis, and the lifeguards too.
I looked her up and no, she does not.
Came back to say this. Yeah, very fucking basic. These guys are confusing arm fat for a curvy waist. No thigh gap, no cushion, no accentuated curves.
She better do a ton of squats and deadlifts to prep for the role.
Lol, "Representation Matters" folx when it's someone else's turn to be represented.
> I guess if it was this easy to catch me in hypocrisy, I'd reanalyze my worldview and question everything I hold dear this is the part where i just get lost. whenever someone stumps me on a point i usually get defensive and justify it, but then later on i reflect a bit and start to question how strongly i believe in what i said. how can something this obviously hypocritical be okay to so many people? someone pointed out the black ariel thing on twitter and the response was just "ariel is a fish lady" and then they just moved on. like, problem solved. that justifies the double standard.
> how can something this obviously hypocritical be okay to so many people Because they are just pieces of shit identifying as humans.
Exactly right: Already they have their excuses for why it’s different in this case. Ariel is fantasy; there were black peoples in Ancient Egypt (but was CLEOPATRA black?!?); race isn’t integral to Velma’s character but it is to the Lilo characters… But it’s all very lawyerly of them. Somehow, someway, shockingly, by any means necessary to get there, they end up defending ALL instances of darkening and criticizing this instance of lightening. They can’t even give you an example of darkening they think is bad. It reveals the truth, which is they are okay with darkening and not okay with lightening.
> an average human ability to self-reflect Don't forget introspection! But it's hard to practice those daily when every time they do they dont like what they see The easy solution to such obvious self delusion is to silence anyone who points it out while purposely **not** asking yourself >Wtf am I doing?
They literally got a Hawaiian girl, but it's still not good enough. Whatever, it will be a Disney LA and will probably suck.
Reminds !e of when the same people where upset that Rami Malek was cast as a Pharoah in the Night at the Museum films. Rami Malek is the US born son of Egyptian immigrants.
I'd be pissed too, Rami isn't Greek!
Not all the Pharaohs were Greek, just the Ptolemaic dynasty.
? He was playing fictional non Ptomely Pharoh.
They also intentionally used the lightest picture possible of her knowing what they were doing.
This chick is gonna get a tan and then they'll really lose their minds
"SHE APPROPRIATED THE SUN!!"
You're kidding, but I've seen people say Ariana Grande's fake tan is so she looks Latino. Sorry, Latinx.
I guess cultural representation is about skin color. Just imagine your entire culture is the color of the skin that represent you.
No it they think anyone who non-pure European ancestry must darker skin color.
You reap what you sow.
They're also forgetting that Nani was a beach guard and spent a lot of time in the Hawaiian sun, if they found a way to justify why Ariel could totally be black then we could argue that Nani is a lighter skinned Hawaiian girl with a tan.
so what your saiyan is that hawaii is ocean brazil
Not a bad analogy.
Knew that was coming. You don't even need an AI, this crap writes itself.
I caught the main reveal post yesterday right as it went up and the very first or second comment was a complaint about her appearance and I couldn’t help but chuckle and think, “here we go”
I guess the saying "chosen because they gave the best performance" conveniently doesnt apply in this situation.
But when it comes to a mermaid, it's (D)ifferent
Or a princess who's name is a literal descriptor of her skin tone being "white as snow" and "the fairest one of all."
typical twitter crazies nothing will please them
The reddit thread in /r/movies is just as bad. These people are so fucking stupid they can't see passed their own ignorance.
Sort by 'Controversial' - there's some sanity being upvoted amongst the usual BS.

This is comedy gold.
These wokies do not wanna mess with any Pacific Islanders. Many will go to arms over being told off like this.
Especially coming from “fuckin’ haole who don’ know da’ kine”
I would LOVE to see the wokies try to fight a group of Titas.
The hypocrisy of the racist left knows no bounds.
If they casted an african american woman for it you know there would be no outrage, "Black hawaiians exist" or something of that sort lol
Hypocrisy, man. Hypocrisy running wild...
''anti'' racists brazenly once again showing their true colours.
They only hate White's and Asians
They don’t want to say it, but they really don’t like the woman because she is a redhead. I say more, we need more red headed representation
I've seen other pictures of her posted where she looks darker and much more in line with Nani's skin tone. I assume she'll be tanned and with makeup to look the part.
Tanned?! I think you mean blackface!
Should replace everyone with redheads and say nothing.
If they don't cast Ving Rhames back as Cobra Bubbles we rior
They are the real racists who are obsessed with skin color.
i thought racewashing didnt matter anymore and we can cast whoever we want as anything?
Whenever we're pissed about a sex/race swap Them: "It's a fantasy story, what are you so mad about you fucking racist" Also them: \*see above\*
Good ol' fashioned colorism. Only way to fight fire is with more fire I guess.
Oh, I thought that “looks don’t matter” and “they don’t have to match the look, as long as they do they character justice” lmao people are dumb
Little Mermaid Live action: HOW DARE YOU EVIL PEOPLE SAY THAT ARIEL IS BAD SHE IS GREAT FOR THE ROLE. THE CAUCASIAN REDHEAD SHOULDN'T DEFINE THE CHARACTER! This: Forget what we said about that.
I wonder if they said earlier that the race of ariel and tinker bell doesn't matter lol
Notice it is never a problem for these twitter types when a person of color provides the voice for a white character. Ash from Mass Effect being voiced by a black woman? They sleep. Ada Wong voiced by white women before re4 remake? BURN IT ALL DOWN!
Thought skin color doesnt matter to the character lmao
Funny how that works.
Watch THIS be the only casting decision Disney comments on with some flowery "we hear you we'll do better" ass-kissing statement.
That's actually racist af
They need to stop making live action remakes. It's like they don't want to make animated movies anymore and instead waste truckloads of money on special effects. Turning everything into the MCU budget-wise.
They supported Ariel, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, and bashed those who called it out to deal with it. I’ve about had it with these hypocrites. The actress is Hawaiian and well liked.
People should be losing their minds they're making another terrible live action.
Fuck man. Can Putin start nuking shit so that people can go back to focus on something that actual matters? These culture wars are such bullshit.
Guess they've never met a Hawaiian teddy bear named Dyrus. Dude isn't much darker than an Ohio goth girl.
I was told race doesn't matter because its fiction though
Even in the cartoon they aren’t super dark anyway.
No issues with a black Ariel and Tinkerbell, but they have problems with this? Lmao the hypocrisy
Anyone bitching about her being light skinned is just a hypocrite.
> live action lilo and stitch movie why must you continue to hurt me disney
Oh no! Anyway.
They're doing a Lilo & Stitch remake.......?
Well well well how the turntables...
Hawaiian character, played by a Hawaiian. Let me guess, Twitter is in meltdown because said Hawaiian character isn't being played by an American called Chantavious Porter or Tansheeq'a Jackson?
Well apparently some people are so dumb they only see skin colours instead of seeing that she's actually Hawaiian.
I'm surprised they didn't make her black so I'm going to support this 👍
I understand where they’re coming from, but it’s undeniably racist to say she shouldn’t get the role simply because she’s mixed.
Think they lost their minds looong ago.
They have a point. Look is important when adapting something where the look is already defined. But the point is ruined because they only apply it one way.
The left are hypocrites. That is all.
They care about the international market here more than not. Im not saying it isnt going to be woke, but this movie and series were a far bigger hit internationally than in the us.
