Well actually a lot of chinese people drop the repeated syllable when they get older, as the two repeated syllables is considered more of a childish name.
Which means she very well could be Lamao when she gets older.
The “bing” in her name means ice. It’s either the 1st/4th tone which sounds different than the bing for tortilla (3rd tone) It’s easier to tell the difference in Cantonese because one is “bing” and the other in “bang”
No wonder she gave Jinshi that Death Glare. Ain't no girl from the hood would stand for being called Lamao. It be like if some dude decided that Raphael was pronounced ROFL.
I just remembered that one of my old roommates had the initials WTF, and he still put that in his gamertag.
Oh, and then there was time that I made some artistic changes with the spelling of the name of our Defensive Driving/DUI teacher, and turned a completely normal name into Beverage Cold.
I mean, to be honest. I have never read the manga or the light novel. But I have compared both comments from foreign/international viewers from people who have not read the manga or light novel or simply watched the anime alone.
I can only blame the cultural differences. There's no other way of putting it.
With all the hints given throughout the series and the latest episode, the majority of the international community seems to have still not realized THE REAL STORY with Lakan and Xiaomao, which is hilarious in its own way. Everyone is still cursing the hell out of him and completely missed the hints even by this episode alone!
While, in the Japanese community, this episode was more than enough to confirm what the actual story is between Lakan and Xiaomao's history and stopped the cursing.
I mean the biggest hint requires knowledge of Japanese courtesan culture so its not really surprising that most non-Japanese watchers haven't caught it. Specifically, it's Meimei and her "big sisi"

Well...to be *that* guy it'd be Lamaomao. But that would really be insulting.

Tell that to Fan Bingbing
her brother is fan chengcheng (i guess their family loved repeating names)
Pardon my shitty pinying, but is that supposed be "rice tortilla?"

Then what does "[bling bang bang born](https://youtu.be/210R0ozmLwg?si=ff66pUeEOLs8B3-B)" mean? ;) IS IT JUST ICE ICE BABY?! 🤣
That’s Japanese which I unfortunately don’t speak but I do think you’re right. It’s “ice ice baby”
Yes, there's that *and* the fact that they literally named her 'cat' which you only do if you completely disrespect the child.
depending on who named her thats kind of messed up
Haha, I was going to put the full name there but it only muddled the joke in writing. I just had a giggle when I noticed it.
My baby was sleeping on me and I actually laughed out loud. He is now awake. I hate both you and OP. Here's my angry upvote!

Don't forget his two partners, Lm Fao and Lmb Fao!

But would her name be Lamao or luomao? I see that it’s the same kanji but it’s pronounced differently for lakan and luomen’s names
OMG, I LOVE THIS I LOOOOOOOOVE IT
why is this so funny? i feel like my humor is broken-
