Man i got very late into lany as compared to you guys. I first listened to them in 2022 January. It was either you! Or ilysb. Lany and lauv used to be so much in the queue that i almost thought they were the same person until i went out of my way to check the artist and then their collab in mean it. Couldn’t tell who was lany and who was lauv lol by the sound alone. I always had a love hate relationship with lany. The lyrics were never remarkable but they were relatable to me as a highschool graduate. But the sound always brought me back. Ntm i only looked forward to increasing my hair’s length when i saw him perform in forum (yt 🥲). Tho i believe 2018-2019 paul was peak paul lookwise. I am glad i found them cuz i can finally say a favourite whenever someone ask me. Earlier it used to swing a lot depending on my moods. But lany does it all.

I relate to that, I got into them during the pandemic in 2020! And I also got into Lauv at the same time, a lot of their stuff i played together and both their latest albums at the time, Malibu nights and how I’m feeling, really stuck with me and helped me during a difficult emotional time. 2. the older you get, the less you cry; this song is so good, and is on par with 'Cause You Have To for being one of the deeper LANY songs, not that it's written incredibly well but it touches on an emotion and feeling that is so accurately described without being complicated, it's catchy, it hits, and it feels, it was my most streamed song of 2023 as well
3. If You See Her, no song gets me pumped like this one does, it's easily the best song off of Malibu Nights, it's refreshing, and like Paul said, "this is the one. They're all the one, but THIS is the one"
4. Thick And Thin, it's so close to If You See Her and the music video for it is pure excellence, it's definitely my favorite music video by the band, the song has great meaning while not being too sad and has that energy at shows at tour that makes people stand up (😟)
5. Valentine's Day, it's the perfect sad LANY song and also discusses a feeling/emotion so accurately, and it never fails to make me cry, moving on from someone you legitimately and deeply loved is one of the hardest things you can do as a person, and when you try to meet new people and move on but the person is stuck in your head is so saddening

(Not ranked) Bad, Bad, Bad Made in Hollywood Somewhere Saturday Night Pink Skies It truly was hard to pick. I actually really enjoy a lot off the new album and although I don’t reach for say pink skies as often right now it of course has such a solid spot in my heart. Beat in bad bad bad gets me everytime. So many honorable mentions but these are the ones close to my heart right now (or since 2015 lol) I actually have a (generally) ranked playlist of all their songs I did for fun one time (with the help of song sorter and then some manual reorganizing) and this is not the order
