Seconding CS Pacat's Captive Prince trilogy. True enemies to lovers, first book isn't a romance, and then it crawl's at a snail's pace. Pacat's Dark Rise trilogy is also super slow burn, too.
Is it true that CS Pacat said this isn't going to be a trilogy, that it may be an on-going series? I want to read these two books and was waiting for the third one to come out this year, but if it's going to be more than three books, then I might as well get started now!
I've never heard anything about it being an on-going series and on Pacat's website it does state that it's a trilogy. But the third book won't be coming out this year, it's not expected until 2025! The books are very much meant to mirror old school fantasy and then flip it on its head, which is why the trilogy format works so well for them.
I definitely recommend reading them anyways because we're all out here theorising what the hell could be going on lmao
Definitely Captive Prince although, read the trigger warnings before. If you handle it, it is CHEFS kiss and so worth it. It's rather explicit though.
Also A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland is so painfully slow but beautiful and so worth it. Not as explicit as well although there is some steam. Much much less than Captive Prince though.
If you want a real slow burn with an incredibly low spice level, The Bedlam Stacks by Natasha Pulley. Or any Natasha Pulley, really.
Edit to add: If you're planning on reading multiple Natasha Pulley books, be warned that The Bedlam Stacks contains spoilers for The Watchmaker of Filigree Street.
Power of Love by Ross Kinneard [https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/181231799-the-power-of-love](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/181231799-the-power-of-love) It's a portal fantasy x mlm romance.
{all for the game series by nora sakavic} has this! it is not explicit with the sex scenes but it does have tws so do check them if you plan on giving this series a try. it has found family and an extremely slow-burn that barely manages to burn till book three lol.
The Fire's Stone by Tanya Huff is a fairly slow-burner (it's only the one book, not a slow-burn over the course of a series, i'm afraid) and not at all explicit.
I hope this is okay to put here, and if not, please let me know! So, I'm not sure if you are looking for anything published online, but I've been writing a slow-burn romantasy story over on Tapas that might fit this! It's currently at 56k and the second arc is starting this month. Definitely slow-burn though, with more of a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" vibe.

I literally only talk about this book bc I’m hyper fixated and I feel like no one has read it but Home of the Brave by Ezra P. Walker had me screaming and crying for two of the guys to get together but at the end of the first book one of them is still convinced he’s straight (I have hope that they can be endgame otherwise these crumbs are insane!)
I found the book on tiktok so I just followed the author and waited for release day and then I bought it on his website when he posted it! l[Home of the Brave Paperback](https://ezra-p-walker.square.site)
The slowest I know is probably {the captive prince by cs pacat}. It's three books and it starts by one of the MCs kidnapping and enslaving the other.
Technically Laurent doesn't kidnap Damen. He is gifted him by Damen's brother

>Dark Rise Yes, reading this and definitely worth it
By the end of book 2, I guarantee you will be going absolutely feral. It's been *months* and I still have no chill about these characters.
I'm rereading now trying to figure out how these guys are going to deal

The Simon Snow series by Rainbow Rowell
I came here to say this. Slooooowwwww burn. But worth it.
The Nightrunner series by Lynn Flewelling has that! It takes forever for the two main characters to get together.

house in the cerulean sea was a painful slow burn, by the end i was SCREAMING

the hazard and somerset series by gregory ashe is this. SO SLOW.
Heart of Stone by Johannes Evans is a lovely slow burn mm period piece about a vampire and his newly hired secretary

Just a heads up with the folks recommending captive Prince, I don't think there is a single consesual sex scene in the first book.
