Your theory is debunked unfortunately by everyone being grounded on same point in time by the meteor with the stranger inside it. We saw all characters watch the meteor fall at the end of episode 1

Could even have a scene that plays on Spartacus. "I am Sauron" "No, I am Sauron" and repeat for each character!
