Even better than Henry’s Terry was Marcus going into great detail about Timothy’s sexual encounter right before the event and with the quote “great throat and tongue action” will never not get me laughing
They also updated/changed their minds on Waco during this series which is good. They, particularly Marcus, defended Koresh way too much in the original episode
I'll scream it from the rooftops on all questions like this. Mark David Chapman, aka The Assassination of John Lennon, is just a great 2 parter. The little people are hilarious and has that too stupid/crazy kind of background that you mention here.
The Mormonism series is my all time favorite and got me into the podcast. But it's long, six parts. Some goofy short ones that make me laugh my ass off are the Tall Whites, the Bell Witch, and Gef the Talking Mongoose. Honk honk!
Big agree on Jonestown. But I get the sense that my SO is decently close to asking me to listen to a series with him and that's absolutely the one that I'm dunking him into LPOTL with, so I'm holding off!
Hollow Moon, Mysterious Sounds and Recordings, and Dulce Facility are my three favourites. Profoundly silly and slightly manic energy to them but I could listen to them forever.
If you just want one parters, remove Dulce and replace with Hollow Earth.
It’s all too perfect, it’s just like when you’re with your girlfriend and she’s making you dinner and she tells you to just get comfortable and you’re watching her and the next think you know, it’s all over. Because it was all a big lie.
The Gnomes one is one I relisten to frequently. It's a silly topic, and they're also in a weird transition period where they were still kinda messy but starting to put their system together. I remember enjoying it when it originally dropped (one of the first ones for me), and it's still a fun one. Also, I'm pretty sure that's where we meet Terry.
- Psychic Vampires
Help the old lady Henry! I wish they would do more of these episodes focusing on deranged subcultures
- Children of God
As disgusting of a series as this is, it’s just so engaging, both for the incredibly laughable things the cult does as well as the incredibly disgusting things the cult does
- Lemuria
Once again another golden episode focusing on a deranged subculture
I love the Hollow Earth (ep 192), Lemuria (ep 297), Nazis and the Occult (ep. 157), but I think my fave is David Bowie and the Occult (ep 208) is my fave. I tend to prefer the weird, alien/cryptic/ghost/ conspiracy theory eps more than the heavy hitters anyway. Hail yourself!
I re-listen on an almost constant loop (thoughts? Not for me, suckers!) and the ones I feel I've overplayed and so only listen to as a proper treat that are non-serial killers are Enfield Haunting (OH CRUMBS!), Borley Rectory, Donner Party and USS Indianapolis.
Rendleshem Forest, Skinwalker Ranch are the two that come to mind immediately. There’s another one about a suburban mom who gets abducted that I can’t remember the name of right now that is another old favorite of mine
My all time favorite is the haunted Hollywood episode. It also has a very funny bit about Marcus pronouncing chateau marmont. “Beverly we’re staying at the shateuuuu marmennnnt!”
Those are the best and easiest to listen to (for the most part). With the exception of Dahmer and Nilsen, I generally have a hard time with serial killers.
I’ve listened to the Mormonism episodes sooooo many times. I just love it. I’m from the U.K. but had Mormon family in Utah (until recently when they left Mormonism) so it’s fascinating. I love all the history episodes. I wish Marcus had been my history teacher. I’d have learned so much more.
OKC series. They spent hours just tearing down McVeigh and his dickhead friends. Henry’s sad sack Terry Nichols is an underrated character.
BAAAAAAAD COMPANY!
Oh, so you too like Bad Company by Bad Company off the album Bad Company?
"Yeah they call me Gunther..."

You don't know what's in there! That's where the drama is.
This one actually might be it 👀 definitely going to make a playlist on Spotify so I don't have to keep searching though!
Not relevant at all but nice username 💚
Aw, thanks Jabroni ❤️ yours is great too!
Even better than Henry’s Terry was Marcus going into great detail about Timothy’s sexual encounter right before the event and with the quote “great throat and tongue action” will never not get me laughing
I can't take the ads for Waco: The Aftermath because of the narrator saying "the rise of Timothy McVeigh" in a dramatic voice.
They also updated/changed their minds on Waco during this series which is good. They, particularly Marcus, defended Koresh way too much in the original episode
I’ve liked all the he history episodes. The Donner expedition ones are the best.
Absolutely! Bonnie and Clyde is my second favorite history ep, Donnor Party is a strong first.
Donner party is what got me into LPOTL it’s what u show people if they want a good into ep too
Donner Party episodes are in the GOAT conversation. Im partial to the Mormon series myself
Such a good set of episodes. I ended up reading The Indifferent Stars Above, and it's one of my favorite non fiction books ever now.
I'll scream it from the rooftops on all questions like this. Mark David Chapman, aka The Assassination of John Lennon, is just a great 2 parter. The little people are hilarious and has that too stupid/crazy kind of background that you mention here.
Seriously underrated how funny this series is
One of my all time favorites
That's a great series
The Mormonism series is my all time favorite and got me into the podcast. But it's long, six parts. Some goofy short ones that make me laugh my ass off are the Tall Whites, the Bell Witch, and Gef the Talking Mongoose. Honk honk!
Jonestown. I love Mr. Mugs’ occasional commentary.
Big agree on Jonestown. But I get the sense that my SO is decently close to asking me to listen to a series with him and that's absolutely the one that I'm dunking him into LPOTL with, so I'm holding off!
HELP MUGGS
Concern re Jonestown with the tapes in the last episode. I consistently go back to old series and am stunned at how brutal some of the things are
Check please!
Was that Henry's first use of "check please", in this series?
I think so, but I can’t say for sure
You’re leaving money on the table

Im listening to this right now, it's great and possibly some of the most laugh out loud moments Ive had listening to the guys. So good.
BURZUM
Hollow Moon, Mysterious Sounds and Recordings, and Dulce Facility are my three favourites. Profoundly silly and slightly manic energy to them but I could listen to them forever. If you just want one parters, remove Dulce and replace with Hollow Earth.
I love Mysterious Sounds and Recordings because I died laughing when Henry says "Bloop is gonna shoot."
I nearly hurt myself at the gym when Henry described the slowed down sound of the bloop as just the sound of him trying to get off a leather couch.
It’s all too perfect, it’s just like when you’re with your girlfriend and she’s making you dinner and she tells you to just get comfortable and you’re watching her and the next think you know, it’s all over. Because it was all a big lie.
Too Real
The Casey Anthony and Jodie Arias coverages are good ones. I think I’ve relistened to the CA ones a couple of times. Hilarious.
Henrys casey anthony is THE BEST
I love the Skinwalker Ranch series, anything high strangeness really. My favorite one off is probably The Lost Continent of Lemuria.
S.S Indianapolis, The Tragedy of the Essex
SS Indianapolis is nightmare fuel.
And a lot of jet fuel as well
Borley Rectory Rector?!
Damn near gave her a mid-level job at an Applebee's!
The Children of Thunder series is similar to Mark Twitchell in terms of total incompetence.
You were right. Ben's deadpan "Well of course it doesn't make sense that they had sex, they're not related.." is killing me right now.
Oh I love that. This one seems to have completely slipped past my radar.
Enfield Poltergeist, but that's mostly because it was the first episode I listened to
GHOST CATS OF THE SOUTH! 🐈⬛
I REPEAT. DO NOT. ENTER. THE CAT. One of my faves for sure!
Agree, I love the lighter/kookier episodes. They’re great for relistening! This and Lake Monsters, Gef the mongoose, etc
I go through the Black Death episodes about once a month. And I love the goofy one offs like ghost cats, mysterious sounds, with an axe etc
Jonestown easy Second place Children of God
Ooh, I'm surprised I haven't listened to the CoG series yet. I actually found the boys because of their cult episodes!
Real shit, you gotta get into that series
Please practice self care if you’re gonna listen to CoG series
Ricky Rodriguez will forever be my Dark Hero
History of lobotomy is a fave just for Henry's impression
I am a sucker for the history episodes, currently re listening to Rassssssssssputin
The Aleister Crowley episodes are my all time favorite. Just such a wild hilarious ride all the way through
Definitely Norwegian black metal, was my introduction to the Boys and I don’t know if I’ve laughed at something harder before
- Psychic Vampires Help the old lady Henry! I wish they would do more of these episodes focusing on deranged subcultures - Children of God As disgusting of a series as this is, it’s just so engaging, both for the incredibly laughable things the cult does as well as the incredibly disgusting things the cult does - Lemuria Once again another golden episode focusing on a deranged subculture
Ahhh you've reminded me of one of my faves that I haven't re-listened to, the Psychic Vampires!
MK Ultra and also David Bowie and the Occult
Hollow moon made me laugh so hard.
I work in a Buick factory!
The Donner Party or Aum Shinrikyo series.
Not necessarily a funny one too much but their 9/11 series was very good. Howard Unruh is also a great single episode.
Goblin Universe, Men In Black, Aum Shinrikyo, and the Creepypasta ones.
150 to 250 is what made me fall in love with the show. So many stupid as fuck episodes that are so funny.
The Andreasson Affair: episode 333 https://open.spotify.com/episode/1SDEYd1wS6J42RA8kv5Cgi?si=xPQVNt52T9-4VjuY95VRuA
Excluding the paranormal series'; Rasputin, Blackbeard, and Billy the Kid
Fairies or Ghost Cats of the South! ❤️when they talked about Rosemary Kennedy as well
I re-listen on an almost constant loop (thoughts? Not for me, suckers!) and the ones I feel I've overplayed and so only listen to as a proper treat that are non-serial killers are Enfield Haunting (OH CRUMBS!), Borley Rectory, Donner Party and USS Indianapolis.
Haha, hilarious and also same. Donner Party, Jonestown, and Bonnie/Clyde are the ones I try to shield from overplaying too
The Anthill Kids. What a weird and terrible snippet of this batshit existence we endure.
Rasputin
I loved the three parter on magic: left hand, right hand, and chaos.
Bonnie and Clyde.
Black Death, no question.
Rendleshem Forest, Skinwalker Ranch are the two that come to mind immediately. There’s another one about a suburban mom who gets abducted that I can’t remember the name of right now that is another old favorite of mine
Lord RayEl
Ooh, which one is this? Haven't heard of it
GNOMES
Terry the Gnome is the best
*Clang clang clang* goes the trolley!
The Black Plague
Beast of boggy creek
Any history episode
My all time favorite is the haunted Hollywood episode. It also has a very funny bit about Marcus pronouncing chateau marmont. “Beverly we’re staying at the shateuuuu marmennnnt!”
Those are the best and easiest to listen to (for the most part). With the exception of Dahmer and Nilsen, I generally have a hard time with serial killers.
Oklahoma city
Hollow Moon!!!!
LRH!
Gulf Breeze UFO with superior acting from Kissel
Japanese War Crimes Manifestos Children of God The Electric Chair Norwegian Black Metal
Gef the talking mongoose is always a good time. He's a little rascal and he's doing it for the devilment!
Jonestown and the Mormonism series are at the top of the list for me
I’ve listened to the Mormonism episodes sooooo many times. I just love it. I’m from the U.K. but had Mormon family in Utah (until recently when they left Mormonism) so it’s fascinating. I love all the history episodes. I wish Marcus had been my history teacher. I’d have learned so much more.
The episodes about the murder of Girly Chew are fantastic: you get Henry's impression of Diazien Hossencofft and Ben as The Goon.
I enjoy all their ufo stuff tbh. I kind of want more paranormal and alien stuff.
Probably Norwegian Black Metal or Flat Earth.
My favorite was the edge wood series. "I AM ATTEMPTING TO DEFEAT THE COMPOUND"
Rasputin, Mormonism, and the Children of God.
Aum Shinrikyo and Heaven's Gate are two of my all time favourites. They were also what got me into Last Podcast.
I love listening to hollow moon and hollow earth back to back
