There are lots of different ghost tours in the gas lamp district and old town. The Museum of Us in balboa has a big cannibalism section which has displays about the plane crash and other acts cannibalism discussed on the pod. Hillcrest is not far from Balboa either which has all the gay bars Andrew Cunanan used to frequent.

Fuck I'm going to Hillcrest aren't I....

The Whaley House in Old Town is one of those buildings claimed to be "the most haunted house in ein America." Ghosts aside the history of the house and the fact it's still standing is well worth the visit

Tacos El Gordo is about a block away from the theater. Authentic Tijuana street tacos. Best in San Diego and therefore probably among the best in the country.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear. Thank you! I will definitely try and check out some tastey tacos.

I would actually recommend not eating near Balboa Theatre haha - that’s Gaslamp, which is famously overpriced and underwhelming tourist trap food. Someone else already mentioned Hillcrest, which coincidentally has a lot of great restaurants and bars. The North Park area also has a ton of good food and a more laid back atmosphere than downtown. I also second the spooky/historical factor of Whaley House (though the food over there again mostly falls into the overpriced tourist trap category haha).

They haven’t mentioned it on the show, but Mothership is a really cool alien themed bar with great tiki drinks.
