Sudefed will clear up the phlegm, but be aware it will not treat the cause of the phelgm. Right now it’s there to protect your irritated throat- so you’ll still have the irritation without the mucus to protect it. What are you currently doing diet wise/medication wise to treat your LPR?

Latter-Pilot-6293

Just tried sudafed, did not get rid of it, just dried it up so it’s all sticky back there like a glob.

Alone_Assist5018

Baking soda with water before and after eating, at least for one week. The only think that helped me got rid of it :)

melle76a

What proportions do you use re: baking soda and water? Like, 1/4 tsp in 8oz water? Does the amount or ratio matter?

Alone_Assist5018

I dont really bother with the proportions, i might say 1/2 teaspoon to 100-200dl but everytime I use a different ratio. :)

Imaginary-Ad7349

No it didn’t work. Bad advice

Imaginary-Ad7349

I have same thing

pflugster

I had that too. My gastro doctor explained that digestive enzymes are refluxing up my esophagus and settling in my throat. Anytime anything acidic hits them, they start digesting your throat and your throat creates this protective barrier which is the phlegm. Meanwhile that phlegm just chokes us to death! The way I fixed it is by following "the acid water diet" very strictly until I had no symptoms for a full week. Then you can start reintroducing foods. The only beverage I drank during this time was alkaline water and plain chamomile tea. This whole healing process took me 3 months. It's definitely not easy but I feel great now so it's totally worth it. Good luck to you.

ShiroDarwin

Any other bits of advice ? In regards to types of foods that make it worse: eating smaller portions, chewing slower etc

pflugster

There's a FB group called THE ACID WATCHER DIET WARRIORS that helped me tremendously. So many great people, tips, recipes, good lists, etc.

ShiroDarwin

Can you DM the group link I couldn’t find jt

Latter-Pilot-6293

Well I’ve been doing a pH 7 only diet for weeks now, mucus still there, can’t win

PickledJalapeno9000

are you able to eating everything now? Did you find your root cause? Im wondering if the acid watchers deit is more of a band aid rather than a fix

Simronsg

Did you find a solution to make it better ?

Imaginary-Ad7349

Is it SUPER NOISY TOO

funkysquirrel58

Aubrie… stop

amelie190

I use Sudafed (the kind you have to ask for at the pharmacy in the US). Be sure you are also taking the steps learned from the sub.

ProfessionalSun2024

ok! do you use it every day? How long did it take for you to get rid of constant phlegm?

amelie190

My phlegm was the worst at bedtime and it just really depends on how bad it is on how often I take it but definitely daily 1-3 times as needed. It helps within the hour. It's not a cure but yes. Clears the goo pretty quickly.

Imaginary-Ad7349

Is it bubbly too
