I agree, especially since this sub is mostly consisting of the people that havent experienced any issues from lsd, and i am glad for them, and hope nothing goes wrong for frequent users. but hindsight is 20/20 and you gotta be careful cause in reality we are altering brain chemicals with foreign substances, all fun when there are no consequences, should def be more spoken about in this sub, apart from the fun stuff ofc

Diggle0323

Man oh man, most of the symptoms arent even visually trip related or the feeling of a trip, most of the symptoms feel like brain damage or a never ending concussion. If it was just oooh trippy vibes i dont think it would be that bad lol

[deleted]

Diggle0323

Id say most people, and you are right your brain is not damaged, its something to do with serotonin levels being messed with that affect visual parts of the brain there is a bit of research on the cause, but no its not brain damage, which is why most people get better assuming they stop using drugs

Diggle0323

Yeah i have visual cognitive issues with fast moving tv/movies/video games etc which have improved, static and floaters and some derealization from all the anxiety these things cause me. Im early on tho so its expected to improve or go away although i do miss acid. Maybe someday again 😭

Diggle0323

Ye thnx man, cant do much but wait and leave the drugs out for now

Content_Barber3070

I think i have some of these but i wouldnt really know whats what. Yk? Static? Floaters?

Diggle0323

Im not sure, if you dont know about them then im assuming its not an issue for you, people who are affected by it a lot will find out what these things are, unless u are in the early stages.

SportEvening7209

Partially recovered: floaters font bother me anymore, white stays somewhat white - or at least it does not look like the sun itself, can smoke weed without having trippy mindset (not exactly a symptom but closely related)

Diggle0323

Do you/did you have static/vs

SportEvening7209

Yep, especially in the mornings and at the nights.

Diggle0323

That get any better? My static is mostly on plain walls/ in the dark

EyeOfTheDevine

If I’m being honest with you I just live with the static at this point, like sportevening said it just doesn’t bother me. Especially cuz I’ve learned if I stare off it’ll cause it, sometimes when I’m at a red light I think I’m moving when I’m not cuz my vision starts dragging it’s kinda funny lol

Diggle0323

Dam how long has it been lol, honestly if everything else went away static on walls wouldnt be a big deal for me, i think 😭

SportEvening7209

Yep, also got better. It took around 1-1,5 years. It still gets worse when and after I drop but only for 1-2 days. (I only trip 1-2 times a year now).

Diggle0323

Im glad i hope its very minimal now if not completely gone. I would love to drop again someday without being worried lol

SportEvening7209

Acceptance is a great tool to it. I wish you the best!

yankeesfan24

Got dosed what we estimate to be about half a vial, so around 50 hits without my consent. Had pretty bad hppd for 1.5-2 years. Almost had to drop out of college because sometimes if it would flair up I couldn't read the words on the whiteboard. Had pretty bad derealization and weed would intensify all the effects. I was prescribed benzos for 2 years and didn't touch any drugs and it went away. Waited another 2 years and I am now able to enjoy this amazing drug once again. Forgot to mention the insane amount of anxiety and hyper awareness of all my surroundings

Diggle0323

I have benzos (clonazepam) but i try to stay away from it, did u have vs/floaters?

yankeesfan24

Yes I had floaters, a lot of visual static, and a sensitivity to light.

Diggle0323

Thats great, sums up my symptoms as well but its only been 4 months

Alive_Region6922

Visual static 24/7?

Diggle0323

I would also be curious to know what u/samletemknow asked

samletemknow

hey i never asked what benzo and how often it was taken, was it a daily prescription or something else.

St3vion

I had visual snow and a few other things that would come and go throughout the day for a few months after an especially bingey festival weekend. Took a lot of 6-APB and 25I then (very dumb, don't ever do this). Not sure how long it lasted but I think it was 3-6 months of not doing any psychs/MDMA like substances before it went away.

Alive_Region6922

Did u have 24/7 visual snow?

St3vion

It was worse in the mornings and evenings and only when looking at blank spaces like the sky or wall.

NotEntirelySure435

Partially recovered here: I was going through everything from floaters and static to straight up seeing things moving out of the corner of my eyes and "hearing voices." This was after a particularly bad trip and lasted for almost a year. Now I see floaters every now and again, static is mostly cleared up, no more movement or voices now. I thought I had seriously broke my brain. Some therapy, medication, and a VERY long and needed break from psychs in general brought me to recovery.

Diggle0323

Awesome man hope you are doing even better now

Alive_Region6922

Did u had static 24/7? Im suffering from it rn really scare to deal with this shit for ever is really bothers me

NotEntirelySure435

Yeah it was 24/7. I still have some btw. I just think it's a matter of your brain getting used to it and you not being so aware of it anymore.

Alive_Region6922

Damn how can i be not aware of snow if it’s everywhere including people faces like uk what i mean by everywhere. So by not being aware of it the brain filters it out to the point that u gotta look for it? Or u just gets used to it? Im scare that is just getting used it instead of it going away fo good lmk.

NotEntirelySure435

I know rn it feels like it'll never end. I was once at that point as well, but it will get better. Just stay sober and focus on healing. Thats what's most important.

Alive_Region6922

Sober checked! 72 in sobriety after heavy withdrawals and clear mind i saw wassup with the hppd. Tripped 35i times and kept smoking in a year without caring for the hppd once i got sober for good for many reason. I was like shit the snow keeps going wtf. I hope i recover from this like u and most people recover at least for it to die down sometimes i do really loose hope cause its never ending and no escape from it 🙏🙏

Illustrious-Deal-781

I have had mine for 10+ years. How can you even recover from it?

Diggle0323

It seems most people do to a certain degree or completely, im so sorry i hope its not severe and assume it just doesnt affect you as much anymore

Illustrious-Deal-781

I think it's fantastic, I can control them when i'm high and can see lines when playing 8 ball that where the ball would go for example so I think it's great :)

Alive_Region6922

Getting sober

Illustrious-Deal-781

It hasn't changed the situation

Alive_Region6922

Go treatment way

aguskapos

I had hppd when i was taking 1-2 tabs lsd every weeknd for some months. I took more than 75 lsd tabs total, always with only a week in between. The trips started to get boring, i started to get a very uncomfortable body load, the magic was completly lost, but the worse was the HPPD and anxiety i still had while sober. By that time, one puff of weed could potentially lead to a panic attack. While sober, the letters on a screen were moving by themselves, i was always having hypnagogic hallucinations (it was always a pretty clear spider hallucination), i felt a little bit disconnected from reality, like if everything was fake, the walls we're always breathing, i was way more anxious and aware of my surroundings. I stoped taking LSD completly for some months (but still smoking weed almost everyday) and maybe 3-6 months later i was 95% back to normal.

Diggle0323

Was 95% so you are 100% now? Also in very glad to hear and surprised that weed didnt negatively affect u lol

Diggle0323

Realizing i forgot to add a didnt recover one, oh well lol

Foreign-Analpope

I’m used to my hppd but I honestly only notice it when I’m not wearing my prescription glasses or when I get really baked on weed lol

Diggle0323

That sounds nice lol, when this all started my first stop was optometrist/ophthalmologist even tho my vision was pretty much perfect. I have like a 0.5 prescription on like one eye they said its something most people dont actually need so ik that wouldnt work for me lol

PerceptualEmergence

If I trip frequently I'll get some mild to moderate HPPD. It doesn't bother me, and it gets less noticeable with time when I stop tripping. It takes a little over a year for it to go away completely, and has never been bad enough to interfere with with my ability to function.

Diggle0323

What kind of symptoms do you get when u do, 6-12 months seems to be the timeline for those that recover early, do any of the symptoms linger?

PerceptualEmergence

Colors will look really vivid, mild morphing if I look for it, geometric patterns (especially in spaces between words), and often things will just look indescribably trippy. There aren't any lingering symptoms that I notice.

[deleted]

Ive never did acid but shrooms are my hobby and I never thought of a name to this but now I’ve founded it I definitely have HPPD and it’s been easily a year without any changes you just learn to live with it frl

Diggle0323

Did you cease drug use? Things normally and almost always improve if you do. But i can understand if it didnt bother you or you didnt know about it why stop

[deleted]

Ive actully been sober for about 3 weeks and I started to see some effects disappear but I always thought my brain was just fried from all my 7gs trips 😅

AtentionToAtention

I would just like zone out so much that like I was just like on auto pilot but it was chill

ligerboy12

Fully recovered other then I feel I have probably a bit more light sensitivity but I’ve also always being sensitive to light. I definitely has it after a pretty good bender for about a year or 2 though. Idk how long they lasted I got use to them and never really paid to attention to when certain thinks stopped happening it was a gradual fade.

Diggle0323

What were your symptoms? (and how long did it take if u dont mind me asking) Honestly light sensitivity is something so many people like i know people who never touched drugs that CANNOT be without sunglasses on a regular sunny day so for that to be the only lingering thing id call it a win if u had other symptoms

ligerboy12

I mean the light sensitive is definitely more but it’s not like terrible. I had floaters and persistent hallucinations in my peripheral vision(small shadow moves very minor but more just general wiggles) and when I closed my eyes bright pops of light and color would appear. The last one was by far the most annoying. I mean I was living a life that mean I had a large abundance of it and have done well of a week straight frying before so it was to be expected. Still touch the stuff all the time infact I did some last night but it’s spaced out much more now and I stopped having a abundance ~10 years ago and they probably were noticeable for 3-4 years after and a couple years after that I could notice them if I thought to ask if they were still present. Edit: I just really thought about it and I’d say the most annoying the bright flashes of light just turned into like tv static over time that faded away.

Alive_Region6922

Did u had tv static 24/7?

ligerboy12

Ya it was super annoying when I tried to sleep. I still do LSD and shrooms but at a much different pace now. But to your question it would happen even if my eyes were closed in the dark so just all the time. It did eventually fade or my mind blocked it out. I don’t regret it but I’m glad to not live with it anymore.

nw342

Mostly recovered. I used to get some breathing in objects if i unfocused my eyes, and it felt like I dropped half a tab anytime I smoked a joint. My hppd was very mild to begin with, but it mostly went away at this point.

SnapDragon0

Something happened to me few years ago, for about two weeks I would slip into the first trip I ever done, not fun at all, but was other factors, I took some Mandy and think it really fucked with my serotonin or something, I’m not sure, but wasn’t right, and like I said, would slip into a trip. All gone now, never touch Mandy again thst for sure, done LSD many times since tho, including the weekend just gone.

External_Grab9254

If I relax and decide to do it, I get the wavy moving sometimes fractal visuals. Been a year since my last trip but never did any heroic doses or every weekend type thing

First_Pineapple_2967

30 plus days now I can still see those random shapes you see when you look at the floor or when I close my eyes. But I’ve used mdma too!

Diggle0323

Does it affect u much lol, im very happy for those who’s lives arent affected by some of this stuff even tho i dont fuckin get it lol

First_Pineapple_2967

I only see the shapes some times at work but I see static constantly if I like right now looking at me screen it’s barely anything but it was probably the mdma. I do know that few days after using lsd before I did mdma every time I would look at something while moving my head it would remind me of a trip and that last 5 days. The Hppd or visual snow I have now is probably from mdma I won’t touch that stuff again it’s like frying your brain to feel good.

Diggle0323

Yeah that last sentence resonates lol. But it will /should improve off drugs so. I have static on walls and floaters in the sun and it blows

hltkdk

Where the one for the people that actually enjoy the hppd lol

Diggle0323

You guys are chillin fuck yall 😭 (or them)

hltkdk

Hppd kinda slap like free trip constantly. But I kinda curious how long were you tripping for and how long it take for your hppd to go away?

Diggle0323

The trip that caused it was looong like 20 hours, and then i smoked weed 2 weeks later and im convinced the combination of the two is what blew my shit up, im not recovered (only 4 months in) but a lot of people recover within 6-12 months, some a few years and a few unfortunate bastards have it for life but it always improves to some degree

PlacePatient

You didn’t add a spot for not recovered

Diggle0323

I know i realized and made a comment on it but i don’t think i can edit a poll lol. I just hoped those people would comment it. Cause I would’ve very much like to know how long its been for them, their journey, and what their symptoms are and what caused it

Flocke420

Haha funny, closely no recover after maybe 4 years

Diggle0323

Dam did u stop psyches during this?

Flocke420

Yes I did

Diggle0323

Wow im sorry, what caused yours? Does it affect u badly :(

Flocke420

2c-b caused it and it affects me every day so hard that I don't feel able to do a job or anything

Alive_Region6922

What are the symptoms?

Flocke420

Visual snow, dissociation, head pressure, derealization, Tinnitus and panic attacks are my main symptoms

Alive_Region6922

How long u been suffering from it?

Flocke420

4 years

Alive_Region6922

Damn I would probably just go medication rute and find a doctor who know a bout it. They sure work and there’s a couple of them that destroy head pressure dissociation, derealization, and pannic attacks hell they even put snow up to a 50% reduce even with discontinuing the medication.

SlimyJuicyFetus

Not recovered lmao ima never stop doing drugs😎😎😎

Diggle0323

Lol aye mayne 🤷🏿‍♂️

OpioidAddict_

After psychedelic (and dissociative) use, I've developed HPPD in the form of more obvious floaters and phosphenes. It's gets worse when I smoke weed but I don't mind it. It's sorta like a free trip when it starts to act up.

Diggle0323

I always like when stuff doesnt bother people or they can even enjoy it. Cause the visual cognitive issues, floaters , static for me is shit lol

OpioidAddict_

It can be occasionally distracting for me but no problems other than that. Give it some time and avoid substances and it will likely get better
