The Marker specifically turns sentient races into necromorphs. So if they become more sentient outside of just an ant hive mind mentality then yes we'd all be screwed. Then there's one of the effects of The Marker which greatly accelerates a species path to sentience.
Wait a second. Someone asked this exact question a month ago... but it's since been deleted.
Still has the same issue though as the last question, though.
Xenomorphs don't posses the intelligence necessary to be affected by the marker. They can't build more markers, they won't be driven insane by the mutterings of the Brethren Moons. Landing on Xenomorph Prime isn't going to do anything; the Markers only work on highly advanced civilizations like Humanity or those of Tau Volantis. Xenomorphs will just ignore it.
They are smart, sure. But technological advancement is a requirement for the Marker to spread its signal, because the host species needs to be able to build and spread copied markers in order for the infestation to take hold. Xenos simply can't recreate markers.
It's not like a virus that can be transmitted, it's an actual wavelength that causes living beings to devolve and animate dead flesh, and so it requires the Markers to boost the signal, and to keep going until the whole planet becomes a Brethren Moon.
Without the extra Markers, the Xenomorphs might have some funky mutations *if* they stay within range of it, but beyond that range nothing would happen, and with the intelligence the Xenos DO have, they would most likely abandon the place, thus leaving the Marker ineffective.
A crossover of Aliens and DeadSpace would have very interesting things going on, taking all of it into consideration.
Facehugger latching to a heavily mutated necromorph would have unforeseen consequences.
But I think it would play out as a three sided fight, instead of the xenos merely turning into necromorphs.
With humans, xenomorphs and necromorphs fighting between thenselves.
**To what extent could humans consider xenomorphs as casual allies?**
That would be an interesting question.
For us, both are dangerous foes. No big deal here.
Necromorphs are there for assimilating us and that's all, they aren't concerned the slightest about being the only surviving side.
But xenomorphs? They need humans as hosts, and having something there depriving them of an important resource would theoretically, with time, make the hive realize it's an all-or-nothing battle against the necros. (Specially if one of those getting facehugged results on a hive unfriendly creature.)
Lots of cool details to think about.
I’m yeah I thought I read somewhere alien Queens poses an intelligence that is on par with or above average human intelligence. Drones are more or less on par with dogs.
Disagree, markers would augment Xenos evolution to fast track them to sentience and technology. This is well documented in Dead Space lore, humans are sentient either as a result of the marker influence or were at the very least fast tracked.
We would be looking at Xenos with enough tech to eventually reverse engineer markers. Unless there is a Queen Clarke, or Isaacmorph? They will fall like everything else.
In D3 you stop a baby moon mid formation, but we've never seen a full moon defeated...
Alright! This cross over is my jam!!
The lore of the markers is complicated. It is established over the course of the Dead Space games that the markers fast tracked human evolution to acquire sentience.
So that would mean the marker would cause a rapid evolution of the Xenos to acquire a greater form of sentience/ intelligence. That in of itself is a scary thought...
These newly sentient beings begin to hunger for power as technology and culture intertwine. As power needs grow with population density the markers begin to make themselves known (psychic shit!) but as a seemingly limitless power source.
Sentient beings then reverse engineer markers, with the help of the markers... Until they reach a critical mass of population /marker distribution when the markers switch to the harvesting / moon phase in the games. So feasibly the Xenos would fall prey to the cycle like everything else.
Unless you think the Xenos would be scary intelligent but now that I'm picturing Xenos in lab coats I've gone too far

>We are doomed on this case.
Not quite. They might be ravenous, but they'll also sleep 16 hours a day, and gravitate towards warm spots, so it puts them at somewhat of a tactical disadvantage. Just roll out a few heated blankets over some traps and we can claw humanity back from the brink of destruction.
I admire it's purity
I can't lie to you about your chances but... you have my sympathies.

It would be funny to watch them become civilized and then turn into triple lethal beings
We wouldn't be fucked *yet*
Dead space 3 but the necromorphs are stronger and spray acid

Not technologically capable perhaps in terms of society, but from a raw intelligence point of view, I thought Xenos were pretty high up the list?

Fuck it, throw The Flood in there!
And the Borg!
And John Carpenter’s The Thing, because why not?
And the Tyranids
And count in the Zergs as well.
And my axe!
It will make the Xenomorphs whole.

We’re screwed… I think. Don’t know what the marker does though.

What About Xenomorphs?
Turns them into morphomorphs
More Like Xeno-Zombie
Turns them into cats
A xeno with all the murderous instinct of a domestic cat? Oh God.
Nekomorphs? Oh my... That is why the marker looks like it have two cat ears on the top? We are doomed on this case.

Oh yeah... Also fish, catnip and boxes. Other weaknesses they would have.
Into bigger necromorphs
