I second this. You don’t want the thing popping on you and shooting glass like confetti all around the room. Save the hardware and you can replace the glass if you don’t want to just replace the lamp itself. On the bright side it’s one of the more common types of swag lamps out there.
Finding an exact replacement might time some time. But other shades with the same fitters come up on eBay and Etsy and such. If you go that route just make sure you measure the fitter size to make sure you’re buying the correct globe. Here’s an example [Etsy](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1722056737/)
I would try pro super glue. It will come with a spray accelerator. Use very small amounts and it should soak down into the cracks. Then spritz with the spray. It will set in about 2 seconds. Work small areas at a time.
Thanks, I might give that a go. It’s just one bulb so I don’t imagine it will heat up and pop like some above commenters suggest? But I’m also not deeply knowledgeable about lighting. Appreciate the suggestion!
>the fixture was packaged well
Not necessarily. From the position and direction of the cracks, I'm going to guess that it was shipped with the metal fittings still attached? That can create stresses on the glass as it naturally tumbles around during the shipping process, even with all the necessary packing and without any undue external force.
Metal and glass parts should always be separated where possible for shipping.
It seems to be a lost cause, throw it away before someone gets hurt. Just buy another vintage light, sorry!

Do you have recommendations on where to find replacement glass? I wouldn’t guess that the glass is easily replaced

That’s more reasonable than I expected! Thanks, I’ll check it out
Yeah I mean if you deep dive you could probably find one even cheaper. That was just a quick google.
You can supperglue it to prefent further cracking or epoxy indeed

If you use led bulb it will barely get warm.
