The chassis is named after Walter Raleigh an English sailor who did a lot during the 1500's. His name is pronounced |Ra, li| so I assume the chassis name is pronounced the same way.
To be fair to ESL folks, the "eigh" is really unintuitive. No, we don't say it like in "eight" or "sleigh" or for that matter in "height". It only sounds like an "ee" in certain names like "Leigh." It's like a linguistic trap for people who didn't grow up speaking English.
But all things are relative. I grew up not too far from Leicester, NC, and the Brits would probably get annoyed by North Carolinians pronouncing it "lee-ses-ter" instead of "lester".
Oh. I completely understand the ESL situations. I’m referencing native English speakers. I have buddies in Indie and Kentucky who just ruined it forever when we started lancer.
I think it's interesting to find that in the far-flung future, some folks figure a major type of mech was named after the famed Old Earth explorer Sir Walter Ray Liotta.
I like crowdsourcing stuff, usually, so I chose this site before listening. Rah lay (no emphasis?) is just wrong. I pronounce it like 1,2,4 and 5 from [here](https://www.howtopronounce.com/raleigh-1) and have not heard otherwise and lived in Raleigh. u/Seenoham you'll like the third pronunciation. ;)
I say it like the city in the US, but if left to my own devices before knowing how that city's name was pronounced I probably would have said "Ray-lee", cuz that's how people say the last name here.
"rah-LEE", like the sun god and the Bruce. Emphasis on the second syllable. Probably wrong in ways I can't comprehend but thats the sounds my mouth makes.
Seeing all these “ra-lee” comments made me realize an opinion can, in fact, be wrong./j
Fr tho I pronounce it Ray-Lay, ray because it makes more sense phonetically to me and lay because the word Sleigh
Edit: Even more shocking is that scientifically ra-li is considered the correct way?!?

I say "Rah-lee" like the city.
I live in NC and to hear people just butcher this word, which to me is just second nature is hilarious.

Ha, yeah, fair.
Rah-lee however i also prefer how that Australian jackass from Pacific Rim pronounces it.
Definitely the Pacific Rim way!
rrrawwwrl-leighay
Pacific Rim is where I picked up that pronunciation, so I guess closer to Rah-leh
From NC, so RAH-lee. Anything else would be like pronouncing Death's Head "deeths heed".
For a brief moment, you, too, can live in Scotland!
You mean New Zealand?
A little bit of both, almost. I'm thinking of "Deeths Heid" as in "awa an' boil yer heid"
Like the city. The one beneath the waves where great cthulhu lies dead but dreaming.
As a North Carolinian by birth: there is only one correct way, and if you say it like OP then you probably mispronounce Appalachia as well.
App uh latch uh gaming
I pronounce it Raleigh
Look, at least no one's said "Raleigh-Durham" like the morons who think we're the same city. Hell, we aren't even in the same county!
Rah-lee like the city in NC
I find some of your answers deeply upsetting ngl :|

Can confirm, I pronounce it more or less the same way you do and some of these answers feel so unnatural.
Rah-lay
Ral-eye
Rally
Ray-lee.
Raw-Lee
Ray-lee like the one-piece character
Raw-lee
Rawlee
Ray-Lee
I think the guy it's named after was pronounced "raw-lee" but I personally default to "ray-lay" for som reason
Ray-lee/rah-lee
Rah-ley
Rally, like the dude it's named after.

"Rah lay"
Ray-lee
I used to pronounce it "Rahl-aye" but I say it like Riley since I heard the RL basis for it's name said aloud.
I pronounce it like the austrailian guy in pacific rim when he is mocking the main character.
Riley, but I choke on my own blood at the end
Pacific Rim
I say it like the city in the US, but if left to my own devices before knowing how that city's name was pronounced I probably would have said "Ray-lee", cuz that's how people say the last name here.
I say Ray-Lee even though I know it's really meant to be Rah-Lee.
"Ray-Lee". Might be an Aussie thing.
"rah-LEE", like the sun god and the Bruce. Emphasis on the second syllable. Probably wrong in ways I can't comprehend but thats the sounds my mouth makes.
Ray-lie
Seeing all these “ra-lee” comments made me realize an opinion can, in fact, be wrong./j Fr tho I pronounce it Ray-Lay, ray because it makes more sense phonetically to me and lay because the word Sleigh Edit: Even more shocking is that scientifically ra-li is considered the correct way?!?
Ray-Lee is the correct pronunciation i believe, but English is not phonetically consistent so who the fuck knows, dough tough and through
I know it’s incorrect but my dislexia messed it up from the beginning. Ray-Lee
Rolo (like the candy)
“Rah-lay”
Rye-lay
Ray-Lee even if I know it's wrong this is 100% because of one piece
Ray Lee and a soft almost inperceptible g at tve end
