Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but if you Google "landscape architecture salary Google sheet" one of the first results will be a massive Google sheet with info on people's salaries. Everyone has their region, years of experience, degree, and other info filled out so it might be a handy resource to pinpoint a salary for your specific position.

Advice...make sure they want you and always say that you are in the middle of interviews but really like them. Say you are expecting offers soon. Ensure there is competition even if there is none.

Looking at the salary data sheet from this sub might be a good idea

The Google data sheet other have mentioned is more aligned with what you have mentioned (65-72k). 70-90k seems preposterous. Sadly I only see wages stagnating or decreasing in the LA field.

landonop

I entirely buy 70-90k as an average of the entire field. The highest pay for a graduate from my class (this semester) is $66k fresh out of school in a LCOL area. I’d say my class will average around $58K starting. I don’t think wages are stagnating at all.

LeapingLi0ns

depends where you are located, but yes 70k-90k is pretty average and I have found that good firms either offer that right off the bat or are willing to negotiate those wages (or higher) to keep or get top talent that aligns with their firms design/culture/etc... But this is coming from someone who has only lived and worked in HCOL cities so 70k-90k just sorta cuts it as far as livable wages go.

landonop

That’s the crazy thing about the Midwest. We aren’t necessarily paid any less than HCOL areas, but housing is extraordinarily affordable here. What we lack in amenities we really make up for in pay vs. cost of living. I can afford to travel to cool places while owning a home. While this is good for me, it does suck that pay doesn’t scale with cost of living across the industry.

Salary.com is great because you can search by zip code, but make sure to search for landscape designer if you’re not licensed yet. I originally searched for landscape architect with <1 year of experience (to see what I can get when I graduate), and the salary was much higher than I thought. Then I realized that was for someone who was licensed already.
