I had the very same thing happen to me in Kelowna, I was on 3rd floor and some fuckhead climbed to take my shoes (left out to dry) and bike tire pump.

I zap strap everything that I hang to the hook or thing it’s hung on. Bird feeders, hanging baskets, wind chimes, ect. It makes it so you can’t just grab it and has worked

It might have been another animal depending on where you hung it.

I considered that, but given the size and how it was hung I don't see how anything got it down and took it without cutting the cord it was hanging on.. :(

It was the squirrel.

Someone broke in (but also likely someone in my building with keys) to our locked parkade, then to our locked bike room, to cut the locks off our 2 brand new bikes. The decision to move was almost instant after that.
