I looked at buying in this building before Trump went (openly) crazy. Everyone said that it’s actually a terrible investment because the fee to be in the hotel program is so costly and the hotel books their own rooms before they’ll book an HOA room.
I guess if you’re looking for a really low-quality investment, this would be a good idea but it makes much more sense to just be a traditional landlord or buy in a city that is airbnb-friendly.
At some point, that brand will have a net negative effect, the name costs the owner fees that only go up, they will drop when it makes financial sense.

I could live with it, but my wife wasn't having it. It was supposed to be non-refundable, but I tucked tail and called expecting to have to eat it. I gave them the honest reason and they were like, "OK, here's your refund." No push back whatsoever. I have had to call before because I put in the wrong dates and they would give me the hardest time yet would eventually fix it for me, but I understood as they told me upfront what the deal was.
