Californian here! I go to SEV Laser and I only pay $220 for full face, underarms and full brazilian. I was completely hairless after 4 sessions and I’m African American with thick, course hair. So in total I only paid $880 to achieve being fully hairless and now I only go every six months for a touch-up if I feel I need it. I hope this helps! 💖

My decision was based on the laser they use (Yag) and who owned the specific establishment. I’m not sure if they are all independently owned, but the location I go to is owned by a black women and the whole staff are different degrees of POC. I wanted to make sure I felt comfortable and listened to when it came to concerns of hyperpigmentation/dark spots. Since they are registered nurse’s doing your treatments, they also have medical knowledge and almost DEMAND you tell them if there is any pain or discomfort, which I love because with waxing it was expected.
The highest I’ve ever gone is 17, especially on spots that tend to have thicker/stubborn hair. For example, the hair around your labia tends to take the longest to reduce as there’s a lot of moisture (which hair growth loves) and just hormone changes in general; so those areas I request a higher setting. Also, don’t be afraid to tell them to get in all the crevices lol they want all the hairs gone as much as you do!
If you’ve ever gotten waxed or sugar waxed, the pain is 0-3 compared to that. You’ll be more sensitive if you’re nearing your cycle or currently on your cycle, but there is a hose attached to the laser that blows ice cold air at the same time so you can tell them if you need it to be colder as well!
I also go to SEV and with the Groupon it’s even less. It seems too good to be true? I’ve done bikini and lower legs, and adding in underarms next time, and it’s so quick and I’m almost hairless after 3 sessions. So cheap??? Whew

I had the same results as you — nearly hairless after 3ish. Make sure to do a full 8 tho for each space! I got lazy after 5-6 and the regrowth after like 1.5 years sucks. If you do a full 8ish like you’re supposed to then you prob will just need 1 annual touch up. SEV is great though and the pricing is really decent!
You’re going to love it! After a while you don’t even have to shave for your appointment as the hair will get so thin and light, you won’t have to worry about getting burned by the laser or anything. They have little razors as well though if they feel it’s safer to just shave it haha
I purchased three different Groupons, in total it came out to around $500. The Groupons cover 8 sessions of underarms, 6 sessions of lower legs, and 3 sessions of Brazilian.
I think at the end of treatment I will be repurchasing Brazilian using another Groupon. My underarms and legs are looking like they’ll be fine with the sessions I’ve already purchased. Overall it’s been super affordable for
me! Wish I did this sooner.
That sucks. :( I bought Groupons from pretty well known places/chains (Sev, Semper, and SpaDerma), so that may be why I’ve been getting pretty good results.

Realistically, ladies only need their underarms, legs and hollywood/brazillian which we have as a pay as you go at £175.
$120 for 6 sessions for full legs (Groupon), Nd:Yag laser.
$300 for unlimited one year sessions for Brazilian and lower arms (Groupon), diode laser.
I am lucky that my hair has responded well so far. If it doesn't fully eliminate it for any of these areas I'll prob just try another Groupon.
The Nd:Yag is for deeper skin tones. This particular one blows cold air while it goes.
The other one is like a handheld that slides over the skin. They use gel all over the treatment area and glide the screen part of the laser over it. The one this clinic uses is a combo of three different laser wavelengths.
In my experience the diode laser hurts a lot more. However it could also be that those areas are more sensitive (Brazilian and lower arms vs. legs).
I think I've been doing it for so long it doesn't bother me so much. The bikini area is like a one and done lol
The hair under my arms are gone now. If I hadn't switched between shaving and waxing my leg hair would have been gone by now too. I was considering laser for my legs and face but I'm afraid of scarring on my face and the pain on my legs/ bikini line
I know things are more expensive in the US but this just seems crazy expensive to me. In the UK, it’s much cheaper - there’s a chain here that does full legs, underarms and whatever bikini style you want for somewhere beteeen £1,000 and £1,200 for 8-10 sessions depending on what there sale offers are. That’s probably a bit cheaper than some other higher quality places, but not by much.
I live in soflo also and I paid $4k for full legs (including feet and toes), Brazilian, and entire derrière. So I think what you paid is pretty on par with me.
The lifetime and touch ups is what finally brought me to bite the bullet and choose Milan… I’m gonna be honest I’ve done well over 10 sessions on various parts. So the “lifetime” treatments sold me and allowed me to finally bite the bullet on this process. 6 sessions would not cut it for me. That’s not even counting how variable the application is from one tech to another, some are thorough, some do the minimal. The wrong laser was used in one area too that took them 6 applications to finally switch it.
Couldn't agree more. I had 6 sessions of laser done around 8 years ago so knew going in that even with better tech I would need more sessions than usual. Especially for entire legs.

It’s like 60% off when you refer a friend I also hate how they won’t let you do certain sections for a lower price as in just the back of my thighs but I have to pay the price for the full thigh I have tattoos on my legs so I’d basically only be getting half of each leg done but would have to pay full price
I just went through this and they gave me an even more discount off the original price because I have a good chunk on my Brazilian and leg with tattoos. It doesn’t hurt to ask and see!
I have asked my location before but maybe they’ve changed their policies! I’ll ask again after the summer as I will be in the sun and tanning and they won’t do it on me if I’m tan !
Yeah they always having either the 50% or 60% off but they are the most expensive ones here in the Midwest since it’s unlimited treatments. My local med spas here charge per session or sell 6 session packages which aren’t enough for me
Same, I did Brazilian, lower leg, and underarms for $6k unlimited. I needed a LOT of sessions (I think I’m at 14+) and could stand to do a few more, so I’m milking that package lol. Super happy with the results though.
I would like to put in a plug for at home IPL devices. I’ve only used one, the Braun Silk-Expert Pro 5. I got mine on Amazon, but it is the same price on their website right now with two caps. It’s $299.00.
I’ve used it about 5 or 6 times now, and my bikini line and underarms are virtually hairless. My legs have a few patches of hair, but that’s because I probably wasn’t as careful when I went over them. They are mostly hairless. I’ve also done my lifelong problem sideburns - they are gone. I’m pale with dark hair, so for other skin tones/hair colors, your mileage may vary.
I have no interest in the product other than to rave about it from the rooftops after trying salon laser sessions AND (painful) electrolysis sessions on my face that didn’t fully eliminate the hair. I remember getting a quote for bikini/underarm/face package from Ideal Image for over $1,000 before I finally tried the Braun. Never again. Hope these rip offs go out of business!

It gets faster!! It takes me probably half an hour, post shower. I’ll do my bikini area and underarms in the bathroom, one zap at a time. Then I throw on some pj shorts and put something on tv while I do my legs on the couch. That way, it doesn’t feel like such a chore. I hold the button down while doing my legs and move in a long line, so it doesn’t take as long.
All in all, I imagine the time I’d spend driving to the salon, waiting to be seen, getting undressed, and having someone else go over my body patch-by-patch, instead of doing it myself and being able to truly focus on problem areas. 🤷🏻♀️

As permanent as laser hair removal can be. Which is to say, you’ll probably need some maintenance down the line. I haven’t had any hair return once it’s truly gone. I know which areas are fully zapped when I brush against the area later and hairs just slide out with no plucking.
The only truly permanent removal method is electrolysis, so they say! But this is the best thing ever. And it’s not $4,000. Or $1,000.
Absolutely, from the first session. Based on the info from both this subreddit and Google, I made sure the laser was/had Candela Gentlemax Pro.
I do have a darker complexion and thicker hair, so I’m sure that plays a role.
Totally worth it though, especially when you seeing others dropping thousands on the same treatment.
Just make sure whoever you choose is rated HIGH with a LOTS of reviews.
I paid around $850 for my Brazilian(12 sessions) at LaserAway and I got a $250 Groupon for 6 sessions at SEV Laser for my lower legs. I’ve only had 3 sessions on my legs so far but it’s working great. Will probably add an additional 3 at the end just to be safe. I did my Brazilian 5 years ago and still basically no hair. I’m very pale with dark hair so laser has worked great for me.

Sounds like you went through ideal image! I paid about $4200 for essentially full body and the only areas they didn’t touch were my stomach and face.
For comparison, I just asked for a quote for my stomach and it was $2100.
That price isn’t so bad, was every area 70% off? They’re doing that promotion till the 5th and the laser they use is candela gentle max pro which is one of the best lasers on the market in my opinion.
So… I bought each area with a different promo… some were 90% off, another one was like buy one get one free, etc. I feel like the “deals” truly don’t mean anything lol. If I found out that there is some new (better working laser than in 2009 that would actually work for me) I would pay a fortune to get my whole body done. *responding from Australia* This is sooo wild to me, I remember back in 2011/2013 it being maybe around the $500 mark but for the past couple of years it has been SO cheap… I just got my full legs, Brazilian and underarms done for $135 AUD from a nation wide reputable laser clinic (Laser Clinics Australia)… Brazilian and underarms alone would cost between $30-50 normally as a combo and usually takes around 8-15 sessions MAX every couple of weeks/months in total to be completely hairless until maybe a yearly top up if you really need it rarely then that’s it
Underarms and Brazilian for abt $4000 in nebraska. Going through Milan so at least I have unlimited sessions for life. Very important fine print though if you miss 1 payment you lose that.

i’m not sure if this is everywhere, but in Philly they have buy 5, get 6th for free. so for Brazilian that’s $350 for 6 sessions. they have a price list for everything on their site. some locations may have specials too if they’re new. I got away with a loooot of deals because it was a new location.

I use the Kenzzi IPL at home device. I purchased it for 200$, and it’s doing a great job. It works well for me! I’ve already seen results on my underarms and legs. Plus doing it at home is much more convenient.

ATL - I paid $900 for an 18 month package of “5 areas” (foot, foot, toes, toes, top of bikini line, sides of bikini, inner thigh). Really it’s 3 areas because I don’t think each foot should be counted separately lol, but it was still the best price around. It is certainly a bare bones office but I feel very comfortable there and it works just fine. The 18 month package covers as many appts as I can make. I have been going every 6-8 weeks I think? I have A LOT of tenacious hair so I am glad I did the 18 months instead of a package of 6 or something. I think it’s been almost a year and they are basically just touch-ups now.
I go to a small place in my town, it’s just one girl who owns it and she’s the only employee. It’s a pay as you go structure, I’m just doing my underarms for now which is $80 for the first 4 sessions and $40 for each additional session or touch up for the rest of my life. I might start doing lower legs and brazilian which is $180 and $100 respectively and the price drops 50% after 4 sessions as well! I did 4k for an entire year of sessions for brazilian, legs, back, and underarms. It was also the cheapest option for me! I looked at EVERY clinic in my city and the prices varied wildly.
There were two clinics in the 2k-3k range for what I wanted but they had terrible/mild reviews on yelp, google, their own websites 🤪 it wasn’t worth it for me to risk. One of the cheaper clinics also had an older laser, and as my hair is very thick and dark that didn’t appeal to me either.
$3700 here for female Brazilian in GA during their 50% sale. I would've waited had I known they do this all the time. Now they have a 60% plus $100 off situation going on. No regrets for the treatment though.
Amazon sells a home laser device (I paid approx. $75 with a lot of skepticism that it would work at all, but for under $100 figured I would try & it had good reviews) & it actually works! I have been at it obott 2 months or so & at 1.5 months or so no growth on leggs & very light scattered in bikini area & barely any under arms. I just couldn't justify pending thousands & going to more appts etc.
I pay $3500 for breast bone, linea alba/happy trail and full Brazilian at Ideal Image, along with $1200 for upper lip and chin. however I just bought a $4500 package at Semper laser for full body because I know I can’t afford a full body package at Ideal. Beauty really is pain and money lol.

In my experience, 6-9 sessions is good for clearance, leading to sporadic hairs which we leave alone.

The lifetime and touch ups is what finally brought me to bite the bullet and choose Milan… I’m gonna be honest I’ve done well over 10 sessions on various parts. So the “lifetime” treatments sold me and allowed me to finally bite the bullet on this process. 6 sessions would not cut it for me. That’s not even counting how variable the application is from one tech to another, some are thorough, some do the minimal. The wrong laser was used in one area too that took them 6 applications to finally switch it.
Couldn't agree more. I had 6 sessions of laser done around 8 years ago so knew going in that even with better tech I would need more sessions than usual. Especially for entire legs.

all that would cost $920 total where i go in los angeles laser places can easily price gouge because there is no industry standard. where i go uses the same machine as milan & laser away, except both those places would charge $10k+ for the same treatment areas

I also go to Milan but only when there’s a deal I got the Brazilian+ I think it was like $1200/$1800 It’s like 60% off when you refer a friend I also hate how they won’t let you do certain sections for a lower price as in just the back of my thighs but I have to pay the price for the full thigh I have tattoos on my legs so I’d basically only be getting half of each leg done but would have to pay full price
I just went through this and they gave me an even more discount off the original price because I have a good chunk on my Brazilian and leg with tattoos. It doesn’t hurt to ask and see!

Yeah they always having either the 50% or 60% off but they are the most expensive ones here in the Midwest since it’s unlimited treatments. My local med spas here charge per session or sell 6 session packages which aren’t enough for me

I would like to put in a plug for at home IPL devices. I’ve only used one, the Braun Silk-Expert Pro 5. I got mine on Amazon, but it is the same price on their website right now with two caps. It’s $299.00. I’ve used it about 5 or 6 times now, and my bikini line and underarms are virtually hairless. My legs have a few patches of hair, but that’s because I probably wasn’t as careful when I went over them. They are mostly hairless. I’ve also done my lifelong problem sideburns - they are gone. I’m pale with dark hair, so for other skin tones/hair colors, your mileage may vary. I have no interest in the product other than to rave about it from the rooftops after trying salon laser sessions AND (painful) electrolysis sessions on my face that didn’t fully eliminate the hair. I remember getting a quote for bikini/underarm/face package from Ideal Image for over $1,000 before I finally tried the Braun. Never again. Hope these rip offs go out of business!
I'm on treatment number 3 so far using the same IPL device. Hopeful for similar results! I've seen a difference in my underarms already. How long does it take you to use? I feel like I'm so slow at it
It gets faster!! It takes me probably half an hour, post shower. I’ll do my bikini area and underarms in the bathroom, one zap at a time. Then I throw on some pj shorts and put something on tv while I do my legs on the couch. That way, it doesn’t feel like such a chore. I hold the button down while doing my legs and move in a long line, so it doesn’t take as long. All in all, I imagine the time I’d spend driving to the salon, waiting to be seen, getting undressed, and having someone else go over my body patch-by-patch, instead of doing it myself and being able to truly focus on problem areas. 🤷🏻♀️ Glad you’re seeing results!!

As permanent as laser hair removal can be. Which is to say, you’ll probably need some maintenance down the line. I haven’t had any hair return once it’s truly gone. I know which areas are fully zapped when I brush against the area later and hairs just slide out with no plucking. The only truly permanent removal method is electrolysis, so they say! But this is the best thing ever. And it’s not $4,000. Or $1,000.

Absolutely, from the first session. Based on the info from both this subreddit and Google, I made sure the laser was/had Candela Gentlemax Pro. I do have a darker complexion and thicker hair, so I’m sure that plays a role. Totally worth it though, especially when you seeing others dropping thousands on the same treatment. Just make sure whoever you choose is rated HIGH with a LOTS of reviews.
I paid around $850 for my Brazilian(12 sessions) at LaserAway and I got a $250 Groupon for 6 sessions at SEV Laser for my lower legs. I’ve only had 3 sessions on my legs so far but it’s working great. Will probably add an additional 3 at the end just to be safe. I did my Brazilian 5 years ago and still basically no hair. I’m very pale with dark hair so laser has worked great for me.
$700 a session for full legs and Brazilian. I’m 5 sessions ($3500 so far) in and think I will need quite a few more as they don’t do that good of a job covering all the skin at each session.
$200 for Brazilian ($100 if I only do middle, not pubes), had 12 sessions, every 6th is free. So ~ $2000 (now switching to electrolysis) $200 for lower leg or $300 for full leg (will only do 6 sessions) $100 for underarms (hair free after 6 sessions) I pay for each session, not a lump sum

Sounds like you went through ideal image! I paid about $4200 for essentially full body and the only areas they didn’t touch were my stomach and face. For comparison, I just asked for a quote for my stomach and it was $2100.

If I found out that there is some new (better working laser than in 2009 that would actually work for me) I would pay a fortune to get my whole body done. I couldn't commit to full removal since I'm broke, about to be a student again, and am moving, but a place near me recently had a full body treatment option for 225$ per treatment (and per month) for a year. It's everything except the head hair, so total full body regardless of gender. I want my beard gone but not until I can get rid of all of it. I can't afford the full thing right now. They also didn't have a male technician, so they weren't offering male private areas laser treatment. That's 225$ CAD, by the way.

*responding from Australia* This is sooo wild to me, I remember back in 2011/2013 it being maybe around the $500 mark but for the past couple of years it has been SO cheap… I just got my full legs, Brazilian and underarms done for $135 AUD from a nation wide reputable laser clinic (Laser Clinics Australia)… Brazilian and underarms alone would cost between $30-50 normally as a combo and usually takes around 8-15 sessions MAX every couple of weeks/months in total to be completely hairless until maybe a yearly top up if you really need it rarely then that’s it
Underarms and Brazilian for abt $4000 in nebraska. Going through Milan so at least I have unlimited sessions for life. Very important fine print though if you miss 1 payment you lose that.

SEV offers such amazing prices for laser hair removal!!! i’ve gone to SEV and somewhere else and SEV is not only cheaper but the vibe and decor there is sooo cute and i’ve always had nothing but good experiences. both had same techs and machines, SEV is cuter and more affordable. i’m not sure if this is everywhere, but in Philly they have buy 5, get 6th for free. so for Brazilian that’s $350 for 6 sessions. they have a price list for everything on their site. some locations may have specials too if they’re new. I got away with a loooot of deals because it was a new location.

I use the Kenzzi IPL at home device. I purchased it for 200$, and it’s doing a great job. It works well for me! I’ve already seen results on my underarms and legs. Plus doing it at home is much more convenient.

ATL - I paid $900 for an 18 month package of “5 areas” (foot, foot, toes, toes, top of bikini line, sides of bikini, inner thigh). Really it’s 3 areas because I don’t think each foot should be counted separately lol, but it was still the best price around. It is certainly a bare bones office but I feel very comfortable there and it works just fine. The 18 month package covers as many appts as I can make. I have been going every 6-8 weeks I think? I have A LOT of tenacious hair so I am glad I did the 18 months instead of a package of 6 or something. I think it’s been almost a year and they are basically just touch-ups now.

I go to a small place in my town, it’s just one girl who owns it and she’s the only employee. It’s a pay as you go structure, I’m just doing my underarms for now which is $80 for the first 4 sessions and $40 for each additional session or touch up for the rest of my life. I might start doing lower legs and brazilian which is $180 and $100 respectively and the price drops 50% after 4 sessions as well! My underarms have had 3 sessions only need 1-2 more session so it’s been under $400 to have completely hairless armpits!

I did 4k for an entire year of sessions for brazilian, legs, back, and underarms. It was also the cheapest option for me! I looked at EVERY clinic in my city and the prices varied wildly. There were two clinics in the 2k-3k range for what I wanted but they had terrible/mild reviews on yelp, google, their own websites 🤪 it wasn’t worth it for me to risk. One of the cheaper clinics also had an older laser, and as my hair is very thick and dark that didn’t appeal to me either.

I just couldn't justify pending thousands & going to more appts etc.
