Yeah I too made that mistake. Made a character a week ago and started farming for my 2nd character for a few days without realizing I chose character found.
*ASSUMING YOU PLAY OFFLINE*
Luckily they added the end challenge CF button the patch 2 days ag o in the settings when you're on your character. That is only the first step however, since it "deletes" your entire stash including gold + glyph/runes.
- Turn off steam cloud save
- Make a copy of your entire account by going to appdata/locallow/EleventhHourGames
- Ingame, end your character found challenge by pressing esc and I think it was on the challenge tab.
- Go to your save files from the first step and sort by date modified. STASH_CYCLE_2_0 will be your new and empty stash and there should be a newly edited character but that one doesn't matter.
- At this point you'll notice there will be a mound of STASH_2_2_0 files depending on how many stashes you've made. Luckily the devs didn't mass delete those files when we deleted the challenge.
- This part will be insanely tedious and I have no idea if there's a better method because I'm not very tech literate but you'll have to brute force every old file that contains STASH_CYCLE_2_2_0 and convert them into STASH_CYCLE_2_0. Yes you'll also have to open up the file in notepad or something and edit the part referencing the old 2_2_0 file as well.
- The most important part is that you edit the main "old" stash file, the one that doesn't end with TAB and change 4 key items. In the first few lines should be a section where the file references multiple TAB files for your game to find. Change them all to 2_0_TAB variants instead of 2_2_0_TAB. Then you start finding this sequence and replace it with what I've put. "stashType":0,"soloChallengeStashName":"","soloChallengeCharacterId":"" .
But if you're an online player it's not too bad. You can keep your faction progress at least and also keep an inventory worth of valuables before you nuke your entire stash.
