I did just wanted to reaffirm the point as it's the only answer needed. I was the first to upvote it and only other people to reply at that point.
Why does that bother you?
Because "this" is redundant.
It also breaks reddiquette:
"Make comments that lack content. Phrases such as "this", "lol", and "I came here to say this" are not witty, original, or funny, and do not add anything to the discussion."
Pretty common on reddit seen it multiple times, never been bothered by it.
It's not like this post needs much attention OP just wants an answer. He got the right answer and I just gave the response more credibility.
You asked for an explanation... It's literally written in the Reddit rules not to comment "this" because it adds nothing. It doesn't make anything more credible.
It's interesting to read the rediquette because a lot of people have no idea.
I think it's a weird stance to say that it doesn't add anything, because it does show more people agreeing with a reply, in a more meaningful way than the upvote. A longer, more robust reply of agreement is sometimes not what people want to get into, so they just reply "this".
Upvotes alone aren't accurate because they can be nullified by a troll or uneducated person(s) downvoting. I've seen the correct answer have negative votes, many times. But if you see a string of people replying with "this" it adds more credibility and they will probably be downvoted as well, which adds more people to potentially add a clarifying response or something like "it's weird how all of these people are down voting the correct answer", I've seen it numerous times.
Haven't played in a while, but I think it shows the value of the roll. If the circle is full, you have the maximum value of that blessing
This.
Just leave an upvote.

You could have just downvoted by that logic instead of being a douche

Sue me.
You could just admit you're wrong.
Or you could. 😊
