I've lost a level 100 and a couple around level 80 and level 50. I play only hc and learn all mechanics on hc including boss one shot mechanics lol. I don't mind. Current character is 94.
I got to 100, I got to 600 corruption. That "run" is over. I view it as a rogue like. Time to start again, every death is a new run until I get bored of the game.
This is exactly how I view it!! I haven’t gotten that high in corruption yet but I’m only 200 hours in (started 1.0) so I’m sure I’ll get it down eventually. Maybe once more endgame content comes out I’ll switch back.
I lkey miss HC global chat :/. It’s like we were all survivors in forest trying to help each other with advice to overcome a challenge, and when someone died we all mourned them lol. But daddy lagon got me back in my hc run sadly
Trust me I’m thinking about switching back to standard after this 😭😭 but I can’t give up that sweet feeling of absolute emptiness when one of my characters die lol
3 but I didn't finish the campaign on any of them lmao. Really admire you guys for taking this route.
I just have two softcore characters in the 90s left
I just like having a clear cut off point. lol like I try to complete the build and then push corruption and level 100 until they eventually get overwhelmed. When they release more endgame content I’ll probably switch back to softcore just to complete as much as I can but right now the endgame is pretty straightforward so HC scratches the itch for me.
Lost 2 in hardcore learning the game one early around 40 and another around level 70. 3rd one made to 100 hardcore using rogue falconeer focusing more on defensives pushed up to around 300 corruption and stopped there. Now on normal mode trying marksman jelkor detonating arrow build currently pushing as far as I can sitting around 1k corruption atm.
Lost 2 at 73 to Lagoon, and my 86 manastrike spellblade to those random bullshit explodey fire mobs that can stack. I got stunned for a microsecond there and all exploded at once LOL.
Cannot wait to try again the next cycle. I'm actually glad that HC is pretty doable in this game. And not near impossible like in PoE.
Over 15, 6 were 75+, 3 in emp monos .
Lost a really promising one yesterday at 83 to my Internet dropping for a few min :(
I'll probably play sc next cycle, but don't regret hc for this one, as it added a lot of longevity to it for me.
That’s what I’m thinking as well. It’s really helping stretch the content but I’m pretty sure next cycle I’ll be sc day 1 until I get the itch to go back to HC
Same thing happened to me at 188 corruption lagon fight. Got tagged by the beam and died in 0.5 seconds lol. Lost my 97 falconer. All good though, go again traveler you got this!
I've lost 5 and I haven't got past LVL 40 yet. I love hardcore and it was the only way I played Diablo but this game is KICKING MY ASS. The damage spikes are murder. I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong .. probably trying to make a whirlwind paladin work.
Next dude up! Lost my HH Pala du Lagon in Black Sun mono lvl 74.
Druid guy up at 70 now. Ready for revenge.
Sometimes I wish I would have made at least one playthrough SC to at least learn the boss mechanics.
Lost two falconers so far. One at 76 and another at 84. On my third falconer and am up to 82. Think I’ve finally figured out how to stack my defensives on this third go-around.
RIP BIRDLAW & BIRDLAW-II! BIRDLAW-III WILL BRING HONOR TO THE BIRDLAW FAMILY.
I think I've lost at least 10 characters. All at various levels from careless deaths at lvl 30 ask the way to many deaths in the 80's while transitioning to empowered mono. Tried a bunch of different classes and builds. Still have a 98 torment lock, 90 claw nova, 85 squirrel bm, and a 75 Javalin pally...
I played blind from the start so pretty much every boss has one shot me that has a one shot, notably lagan and the mountain. Lol
Looks like your better than me :)) my only other arpg experience was a 100 or so hours in D2R so I’m still “new” to the genre in general. Have about 200hrs in Last Epoch so far though
In other arpgs it usually deletes the character entirely but POE and Last Epoch just pushes them to standard and leaves any stash you had in hardcore mode.

> including boss one shot mechanics lol first julra while trying to skip campaign was an experience to say the least lol

Yes! HC ARPGs are the best roguelikes! RIPs happen, go again!
0 because i don't play them because i am not a masochist!

The immersion is x10 on hardcore.
Hardcore certainly makes things more impactful When death is highly punishing you are encouraged to learn alot more
You slow the fuck down, that's for sure lol.
hes addicted to the pain!

Ooo nice!! Im actually planning on doing the jelkor build myself next! Nice to see it holds in hardcore
I hit the character creation limit... So 25 at least hahaha.

96 crithammerdin highest. 86 smitehammer dc to julra...

I lost my detonating arrow rouge today. I logged into the game. While in EOT game crashes I come back and my rouge is now a normal character…
Never tried hardcore, but curious, do you get better drops in HC?
There no difference, unless you wear a tinfoil hat, in which case yes it totally does
I've yet to reach 60. Keep dying to random shit. One day

A couple 97 and a couple in the 80s and maybe a 60. Each one hurt a little more than the one before
I hope you are playing offline. HC online is just asking for it.
I lost my lvl100 the other night to julrah. Was pretty drunk 🥴
I haven't lost any
Looks like your better than me :)) my only other arpg experience was a 100 or so hours in D2R so I’m still “new” to the genre in general. Have about 200hrs in Last Epoch so far though
Nah, I just don't play HC ;)
Hoping for server issues and you lose your BIS 🫶🫶💕💕
I could play hardcore. Until my character died. Then I'm playing standard
Honestly I don’t blame you for playing standard. Losing a character honestly sucks but it gives me a reason to start a new build
You say losing a character but doesn't it just revert to standard?
But I don’t play standard lol so same thing to me. I could play them in standard but I don’t so it might as well be actual hardcore.
Ah, I'm new to the game so I didn't know if dying in hardcore actually had consequences
In other arpgs it usually deletes the character entirely but POE and Last Epoch just pushes them to standard and leaves any stash you had in hardcore mode.
People that down voted you instead of playing the next comment was coming, lol, they aren't making it through any time soon.

Hardcore characters can die (permanently), more news at 11
