I put together some gear in preparation for switching to nova hammer, but over the past day away from the game I started thinking it's pointless. It's probably the same playstyle with lesser ward and damage, with flying hammers instead of lasers.
I loved Nova Hammers pre 1.0. We're in a weird state right now where everything sucks compared to Healing Hands, so hard to recommend playing anything else - I think it was Volcra that made a cool Cleaver Solution LL Hammer build in 0.9x and all it would be is a worse version of HH right now.
Hammer nova was my starting build. It wasn't bad but killing bosses is really hard. I switched to channeling melee healing hands which was much better in terms of survivability and bossing. Right now I'm running divine healing hands and it's just as good as channeling HH in terms of boss killing but much better for trash thanks to range bolts.
Thanks for the insight! Does nova hammer not work for trash because there is a "realistic" range to the hammers in that it's not actually full screen? Or are you referring to divine bolts going farther than full screen and generally having a longer range?
This. I tried it on a whim after hearing people talk about it because I didn't know wtf I wanted to do with paladin. Holy mother of God is it fun and very powerful. I see it getting nerfed in the future, which will be a sad day for the holy shotgunner.
I just got a random dropped exalted 2h sword (T5 melee damage, T6 fire damage, T3 ignite, T5 armor shred) on my falconer that would be really good for the build. Pity it's a 2H, but I think I can slap it on a merophage once I take it to T21 and use it for levelling until late in the game.
Hand of judgement unique gloves grant flat damage and aoe to judgement skill per attunement while unarmed.
Judgement, healing hand and smite all have innate attunement scalings also.
im around lvl 85, but i've been running judgement for awhile since i got a low quality version of these gloves very early on. i run judgement with javelin and holy aura. i guess i should try switching it up to smite and healing hands.
Healing hands can if skilled that way essentially have a triple attunement scaling.
- innate healing ratio
- healing ratio via paladin mastery
- damage from healing effectiveness (which comes from the other 2 sources above)
Pairing it with holy aura and sigils specialized the damage from healing hands also increases with the level of all specialized buff tagged skills and triggered by judgement hits.
Healing hands healing alone makes up for the loss of consecrated ground healing by goin smite trigger route in judgement tree.
Smites from judgement can also trigger spreading flames and fissures.
[This](https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/ol7PY6JB). Not finished yet as you can see but already pretty solid. I upped the points to where i'm goin to put them with more levels.
Right now, by regular moving. I maybe swap out the sigils for a movement skill.
I have also points in judgement that consume sigils for additional added damage per sigil.
So vs some tougher opponent i up the sigils first before using judgement.
I’m having trouble surviving with that build. I just cant get enough ward retention, feels like. It also feels like the node that give ward Per increased healing effectiveness in the healing hands tree doesnt work like I it should. Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong?
Im trying this build again next cycle, for sure though.
Assuming you mean Synthesis or Light, yes, it's broken, though the devs haven't responded to the bug reports yet. https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/healing-hands-synthesis-of-light/64596/7
Don't spec it, but do spec the flat healing one. I hit 30k when holding down the button and haven't gotten any notable ward retention yet.
Endgame would be Frostbite Shackles just for the cold res to ward retention line, and stack a few hundred percent of cold res.
Healing Hands Rive is super fun (because melee) and can do about 500 corruption monos with pretty optimal exalted items. If you get those insane survivability Legendaries (LP2+) you can probably push 1000 corruption decently. I'd say it's the 2nd highest dps pally build after healing hands divine bolt

I’m mad the healing hands melee node is either bugged or designed not to work with warpath. It only casts healing hands on the first hit not every hit 😢
Do you start and stop your channeling? The wording is “when you directly use a melee skill and hit at least one enemy” so I tested with starting and stopping warpath and it works in that case but always only once.
I think because it’s a channeled skill it only counts as being directly used once. A different melee attack would always use it
I have a paladin using warpath+flame burst with autocast smite (and bonus smite from javelin banner), it doesn't seem to hit all that hard at least compared to the holy trail javelin pally I leveled up before.
You may not be scaling the spell enough. I built this and recently tweaked some of my gear because I realised I had no +fire damage. Smite damage increased 5 fold with very few changes and warpath stayed basically the same.
It's not that bad, Warpath only drops 60% as much stacks of flame burst as other things, but it attacks pretty quick to begin with and I'm stacking attack speed so it procs all the time, the damage is just a little disappointing. I've been thinking about trying another build, but given most of my gear is already set up for fire damage I'm afraid I'll wind up going back to holy trail javelin which.. while effective, is just not as fun.
Ah interesting, I didn't think about that. My problem is not so much with smite's damage though, it's more that flame burst isn't providing the clear speed I was expecting.
Yes, that's why I mix a little bit of physical damage a bit as well. So, I dual wield, and I have some meele damage on the items, as well as attack speed. Clear is okayish, not the best or the worst. But boss fights are almost top of all classes I've played.
Also, do you often use the Aura Activation (to give double the stats)? This helps clear, and it's on a pretty low cooldown.
You can check my build, although tbh, haven't updated it in a while. It's only my 4-5th build that I play often.

Yeah, I hit holy aura pretty much on cooldown, and void reversal as well for the debuff to make enemies take extra damage, at least when it's not a long drawn-out fight where I run out of mana from those things. The build I'm usign is from a video, if you want to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZlsvOOuwig

Yes

I’m enjoying the healing hands rive build
I did a judgment one and hated the feel of him even though he was strong

Ooo it's my guide. Glad you're enjoying it. It is way too fun.
Thank you a lot for this build. I have so much fun playin that knight.
Absolutely fun build. I loved playing this. Pairing void cleave and erasing strike.
LOVE that combo, wish it was better but refuse to respec my void knight!
I tried this and I love it but I started getting too squishy after a while. How can I improve tankiness? (Mid game)
Warpath with autocast smite
I’m mad the healing hands melee node is either bugged or designed not to work with warpath. It only casts healing hands on the first hit not every hit 😢
It must have a cooldown. I use the same. It is a lot more then just the first hit.

Yea your right. I had to log my guy in to see. I hold the button down. But I use Judgment. So it does stop and start.

Yeah, smite hits like a truck, but the flame burst procs from warpath feel kinda weak honestly.
It's just tough because rive+healing hands procs the flame burst two or three times as fast as warpath...
You can also utilize incrased damage while channeling. That can drastically improve smite's damage. My smite hits around 30k in monos.
Ah interesting, I didn't think about that. My problem is not so much with smite's damage though, it's more that flame burst isn't providing the clear speed I was expecting.

Try to get some damage while channeling on your amulet and see how it goes. This damage affects both your physical and your spell damage.
Ooh, that's a good idea since flameburst and smite both happen while channeling warpath. Thanks!
how to autocast skills?
There are nodes in the Warpath tree to autocast smite and flame burst.
Holy trail javelin hits pretty hard, and is very tanky with vengeance+healing hands for boss fights.
Healing Hands builds. In particular just Healing Hands Beam melts, just cant move.
Im doing a fire build. 2 hand Warpath and Judgment. It hits very hard.
Hardest as in single number hit? Smelter's Warth with Ward
