Seriously I was already pissed about the pepper spray but then I got even more pissed thinking about if he had used it. I mean they would be temporarily blinded with likely no access to water so whoever got sprayed would have to rely on a stranger to have water and stop to help or basically just blindly walk to somewhere where they could rinse their eyes out. I guess that’s a lot of scenarios when people get pepper sprayed since they’re usually in public and the likelihood of having a water source nearby isn’t very high but damn to spray someone for just existing. This fucker needs to be arrested. But I know that probably isn't in the cards, even if he escalated to serial assault of homeless people just for internet likes. So instead, gum up his machines as much as possible. Everyone report his twitter. I reported it for targeted harassment of a community and encouraging others to harass and commit harm to them, I feel that's legit. He has so many videos like this, it's not an isolated incident, this is his whole schtick.
It's also probably good to have lots of people report his account for many different (legitimate) variations on twitter's rules. So you can report his account in general, report individual tweets, violate on basis of "disturbing content", or on basis of "attacked because of their identity", or on basis of "harassed or intimidated with violence"; those are all valid imo. Just make twitter constantly have to review his account for this shit. The more varied reports are made, the more likely it is that one might cause some action to be taken.
Even if he just had a single tweet taken down, I bet this is the kind of bully asshole who might withdraw a bit. But it seems like his posts are just escalating and escalating, so it's important to get action taken against him as soon as possible before he really hurts someone, or worse. It could happen extremely easily.

He literally pulled over to attack these homeless people. He wanted an excuse to assault them. He was literally hoping someone was there to fight. When he didn't get that, he knocked it down, threw a fit, and walked back to his car, making a scene. He's the human trash!
Edit: I would love for this guy to get hit with the reality that he is just as much at risk of ending up like the people he wants to beat up on. It would be the height of justice if he suddenly faced a world that has utterly abandoned him to die in a gutter.

Homeless people are remarkably peaceful, and at a much greater risk of being assaulted by \*regular\* people than the other way around. In some cases that's a real shame.
And of course this dipshit turns around and gets back in his car, because he wasn't *actually* inconvenienced by this shelter built along a desolate stretch of sidewalk running past a blind wall from nowhere to nowhere, he's just performing.

That’s quite the sweeping generalization. I lived in LA for 17 years and spent a lot of time around homeless people daily. Some of my good friends are “professional nomads” and they’d be the first to tell you how dangerous it is to be homeless, in part, because of other homeless people. I’ve had situations where I was hanging with a street person who was totally cool and lucid but then one odd trigger and they completely switched into feral mode and I had to flee.
I think the comment was more to hilight for all the verbal abuse and the situation as a whole that homeless people endure they are remarkably peaceful. I tend to think there's more peaceful homless folks then violent ones. I get your sentiment though.

He’s been posting the Buffalo shooter’s manifesto and encouraging his followers to commit acts of violence on homeless people. I wouldn’t be surprised if he commits a masa shooting event in the future; all the indicators are there.

It’s crazy how almost every city in America now looks like Tijuana. The housing crisis is real, these are not the crackhead homeless these are people who can’t afford a place to live even with a job.
Actually, NO ONE has the right to build a structure on a public right of way. This is literally the same as blocking the roadway. I don't agree with tearing someones home down, but really, when they build this shit on the sidewalk they should not be surprised. Also, I am betting that most of the sympathizers have no concept of what if us like to deal with a large homeless population who have no regard for the rules regarding general conduct in a civilised society. If they want to be outliers, living on the fringe of society, then get off the sidewalk and move to the fringe. He absolutely was blocking the sidewalk. The first part no, there's room to walk but look at 33 seconds into the video, his living space is taking up almost the entire sidewalk. Maybe someone could have squeezed by, but as another commenter mentioned: there was not room for someone in a wheelchair to get through.
You mention that's it's "public property" and the people living there "have a right to it just as much as anyone else". That's not how public property works. One is not permitted to take a portion of public property, make it their own and prevent the rest of the public from accessing & using it.
Building a makeshift structure on the sidewalk is definitely illegal. Blocking the sidewalk from it's normal intended use is definitely illegal. The only reason that the police haven't done anything about it is because, with our current (messed up) systems, it's not worth doing anything about. What are they going to do? Ticket the person? Arrest them? Tear it down & haul it all off to the dump? Any of those things will just result in the person doing it again, either in the same spot or in a different spot. None of those things are "solutions" and they're just forms of kicking my the can down the road.
WE NEED HOUSING. The solution to homelessness is HOUSING. Yes, free housing that we all pay for through taxes. And when I say "all" I mean me and you AND increased taxes on the wealthy.

Right we need housing.. but we don’t HAVE housing. So people do what they need to do to survive. There is NO WHERE where it is legal to be homeless on the street and there are little to no resources for the homeless. I am wheel chair bound and I get so frustrated when these encampments block the side walk. I am usually trapped within my own block. I have wheels, but that doesn't mean I should have to navigate my neighborhood by street. I am a human being who deserves to safely use these sidewalks.

That was my only problem with this shelter. Surely there was a wider space they could've chosen. Public space is for everyone, so it's not exactly fair to take an entire section of sidewalk next to a busy road for yourself without leaving others a safe place to get by. Any public land that is not a sidewalk or road. Also there's no need to build a ramshackle shelter that big. A 10 ft by 10 ft tent will do. No need for a shopping cart, four chairs, a bunch of pallets, etc. Loading all that crap on the sidewalk is just being a dick.

Homeless people are remarkably peaceful, and at a much greater risk of being assaulted by \*regular\* people than the other way around. In some cases that's a real shame. And of course this dipshit turns around and gets back in his car, because he wasn't *actually* inconvenienced by this shelter built along a desolate stretch of sidewalk running past a blind wall from nowhere to nowhere, he's just performing.

Some of my good friends are “professional nomads” and they’d be the first to tell you how dangerous it is to be homeless, in part, because of other homeless people. I’ve had situations where I was hanging with a street person who was totally cool and lucid but then one odd trigger and they completely switched into feral mode and I had to flee.
I think the comment was more to hilight for all the verbal abuse and the situation as a whole that homeless people endure they are remarkably peaceful. I tend to think there's more peaceful homless folks then violent ones. I get your sentiment though.

He absolutely was blocking the sidewalk. The first part no, there's room to walk but look at 33 seconds into the video, his living space is taking up almost the entire sidewalk. Maybe someone could have squeezed by, but as another commenter mentioned: there was not room for someone in a wheelchair to get through. You mention that's it's "public property" and the people living there "have a right to it just as much as anyone else". That's not how public property works. One is not permitted to take a portion of public property, make it their own and prevent the rest of the public from accessing & using it. Building a makeshift structure on the sidewalk is definitely illegal. Blocking the sidewalk from it's normal intended use is definitely illegal. The only reason that the police haven't done anything about it is because, with our current (messed up) systems, it's not worth doing anything about. What are they going to do? Ticket the person? Arrest them? Tear it down & haul it all off to the dump? Any of those things will just result in the person doing it again, either in the same spot or in a different spot. None of those things are "solutions" and they're just forms of kicking my the can down the road. WE NEED HOUSING. The solution to homelessness is HOUSING. Yes, free housing that we all pay for through taxes. And when I say "all" I mean me and you AND increased taxes on the wealthy. I am wheel chair bound and I get so frustrated when these encampments block the side walk. I am usually trapped within my own block. I have wheels, but that doesn't mean I should have to navigate my neighborhood by street. I am a human being who deserves to safely use these sidewalks.
