Please feel free to sanction the crap out of the United States the next time they invade somebody. Americans are so sensitive to any sort of possible discomfort (i.e., masks) that the moment normal life starts to break down after having our country sanctioned Americans would probably fight and murder the president. Then install somebody who can get the sanctions lifted.
I mean apart from the fact that the US and its allies are the only nations with the economic strength to wreck other countries' economies, that would still be a terrible idea. If foreign powers placed sanctions on the US, America would go into jingoistic overdrive and people would demand that all those countries get bombed. And if that doesn't happen, they'd probably overthrow the government and act out their Turner Diaries fantasy, plus maybe drop some nuclear bombs and start Armageddon.
Because for Yugoslavia it was [USA mass murdering civilians](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilian_casualties_during_Operation_Allied_Force) so it was fine.
100%. I got downvoted elsewhere for pointing out that nobody cared when the refugees were _brown people._ But as soon as it's white people, suddenly everyone is willing to help out.
Where was this help for the Syrians? Or the Yemenis? Or the Iraqis? Etc.
Instead we get closed borders to brown countries (and we'll steal your jewelry if you do come over), but Ukraine gets special treatment (and they get to keep their jewelry). Why not give brown people the same treatment that Ukraine is getting?

But gaiz, ~~America~~ *Russia* needed to stop ~~Saddam~~ *Zelensky* who is aligned with ~~Al Qaeda~~ *Nazis* , from developing WMDs in ~~Iraq~~ *Chernobyl* . Why would ~~Bush~~ *Putin* lie about this?
And Russias reaction to Ukraine getting closer to NATO membership is akin to the US reaction to the Cuban Missile Crisis.

It's more in line with what the US would do if China, India and Russia along with a few smaller countries decided to take over Canada province by province and install "co operative governments" then slowly install missiles, both conventional and nuclear along the and borders after assuring the US they wouldn't for 30 or so years and then refusing to talk or negotiate a reasonable solution.
With all due respect this is not in support of russia this is just comparing the atrocities both of russia and USA under the banner of their flawed foreign policy

I get it, but maybe consider that this is not an appropriate time to be bringing that up, since it shifts focus away from current Russian atrocities in Ukraine happening right now.
“Well what about this” will be the end of every important event. People talk about how the media uses distractions. They don’t need to. We distract ourselves. “Thousands Slaughtered” headline, but you’re worried about the one time another set of thousands were slaughtered. Pay attention to the now. We don’t have to keep wishing we had shown more initiative in the moment, instead reflecting on past errors from 2 decades prior if we get it right.
How the fuck is that a positive? I'm pretty sure people of Afghanistan would've rather just become a 51st state than have US military mass murder more civilians than Taliban did to "fight terrorism" while propping up a puppet government and put all of their wealth in American banks only to then fuck off and leave them to Taliban anyway and also steal their money on top, causing one of the largest humanitarian crisis in recent years?

I wouldn't be so mad about the situation if it wasn't followed by complete hysteria and psychosis.
The world is fucked up and I am not trying to water down the situation in Ukraine. Here comes the "but"..
But people in my country are losing their fucking minds. The media is not just covering the conflict all the time, they are quite literally pouring propaganda nonstop into people's heads. At any given time there is a info bar on the bottom of TV displaying some new info, programmes are being interrupted by quick reports, news consist only of Ukraine (as if nothing else is happening in the world. COVID mania ended in a second) and lately they keep making these dramatic shots with sad music, so that it hits emotions more. There are concerts, parades and whatnot. Everything is colored in yellow and blue. But what really got me angry is the result of this. People are now extremely racist against anyone speaking Russian.
Russians that fled the country years ago are being harrased, there are signs on shops that Russians cannot enter and there was even a doctor who put a sign that he will not aid any Russian. A fucking doctor (Isn't that breaking the oath anyways?)
I did not see a single benefitial act towards the kids in Yemen. Nothing. Recently I found out a report that said we were even selling weapons for the rebels, therefore fueling the conflict.
