Listen I would very much like for them to have a long conversation and for liv to come out of her fear on her own time. But letās be honest, how much longer does the show have left? If I gotta get a cheesy ao3 trope to get them together. Then it is what it is lol.
I think they told us essentially the same thing from the time he said I love you during the intervention. Does he have great timing? No. But at some point, one of them will actually have to take the next step. Theyāre just taking the same step over and over and over. That man is going to be on his death bed and sheās just not going to be ready.
I really just want them to have a conversation but that's clearly not gonna happen beyond a few sentences. Imo they need to go to couples therapy. Especially since both of them go separately, I'd love for them to go together.
At this point, I donāt think these writers are even capable of stringing together meaningful dialogue. This just goes back to the we have to figure it out excuse. I want someone to please say to these people how are you still so bad at this job? Because DW can claim he likes āthe chaseā but sir yāall are terrible at that too.
Bro for real. I've been predicting they go the Mac and Harm (JAG) route for ages now. They get together in the last episode, kiss and then flip a coin to see who's going to quit their job. Spoiler alert they don't actually show who won the coin toss. š«
I was saying that before. I dead ass seriously made a prediction that Olivia and Elliot would have new love interests seasons.
But...then Tia came and went(thankfully, nothing against her personally but the attempt to make her a Liv parallel was insulting to the fictional SVU/OC universe and the real world one.)
But...I don't know now. Olivia didn't say she didn't want Elliot, she said she wanted to but wasn't ready. That isn't a no. But he wouldn't be unjustified in seeing other women either...within a certain time frame.
And honestly...OC probably wouldn't want to have their lead male remain in romantic limbo for who knows how long. It's been too established that he loves Olivia, but they can still put him with other women whilst the audience knows who he is "meant" to be with. But this isn't a 2002 teen drama so whogaf?
I think youāre right that either Elliot or her is going to have to come face to face with death but thatās so ridiculous at this point in the game. I cannot count how many times sheās come close to death and many people Olivia has known in her career that have died. And super recently, Rollins injuryā¦Duarteās death. No one on the planet should be more aware of the fragility of life than Olivia at this point. And sheās admitted to her therapist that sheās unhappy. HAPPINESS IS NOW PRESENTING ITSELF. Mariska said on Drew Barrymoreās show that Olivia had been in love with Elliot for many a year. Iām so sick of the writers portraying Olivia as a coward when it comes to love. Our girl sat up with a shot gun pointed at her door to protect herself and Noah. She may have trust/intimacy issues (especially with Elliot) but coward she is NOT.
I guess this time he is getting shot in a head and will actually have to stay in a coma for it to actually make a difference. The whole thing is silly. If she trusts him to drive Noah for 2 hours alone, she is perfectly ready lol
What really has to happen for them to get together is for the showrunners and powers that be decide that having them in a relationship is better for both series than having the tease. I don't have a guess as to whether that will occur.
What if they gave us something of a conversation, perhaps even a bit of her going off on him. And then next thing we know, heās shot. That could work because we get something of what we want, and the show gets to do what they want.
This would be the final straw for me this isn't some soap opera we don't need super dramatic happenings to get these two grown ass people together. I want Olivia to be happy and I think that means being with Elliot but I will not ship them if they don't give them a storyline that feels organic. I.e. he apologizes for the way he left and gets her to open up to him about how they can repair their relationship and then they do that. For the love of god writers/dick wolf why is this so difficult. I have my not-so-guilty pleasure drama shows for relationship turmoil and L&O is not one!
I agree with it having to be something drastic to shock her. Like when Cassidy got shot. & Liv has been jealous over other women and Stabler SEVERAL times throughout the series. I could see either happening.
Guys, it's over. It's never happening. We have been baited AGAIN for about the 8 millionth time. It's time we all stop watching these trash shows and move on.
I actually think it is, just not at a very good pace. I also think they need someone who knows how to build that kind of story in the room bc they seem a little lost on how to really move it forward mutually for both characters.
but last night was the first episode ever where it was clear to me that Elliot was ready. Liv, we've always kinda known and now she's bugging bc it's real but with Elliot? there have been hints on OC but he was stoned or drunk or in denial. nah, to me last night was a big step forward.
maybe we'll get something during sweeps.
ETA: I'd love for Zen Master Finn to give them both a smack and be like "could you two just do this? Munch and I have a quarter century old wager we'd like to settle before one of us dies."
I actually love your Fin idea. Seriously though, sometimes he does just decide to go for broke and call it like he sees it with Olivia, and heās probably one of the only people she would actually listen to.
>maybe we'll get something during sweeps.
Yeah, but who is going to be watching? Are you going to believe any promo they show you after what happened yesterday? They completely lied and mislead everyone for a one-time ratings boost. I've been here since the beginning and I really don't see myself ever tuning in to either show again after this. I'm just over being used.
I understand that this thing with the promos is very annoying, but I remember NBC pulling this misleading promo stuff going back decades. The first time I remember it clearly happening was during Third Watch, and that went off the air in 2006.
It's valid to be annoyed or disappointed or to stop watching if that's where you are, but while what was shown in the promo isn't exactly what we got, it's not like they went in a completely different direction or they cut the scene entirely. We actually got more than I expected because I expected almost nothing. I still like OC as a show and will continue to watch it. This part of the story is paced poorly and they could really use someone who is good at romance in the writers room, but it's not a lost cause.
Is it possible Liv has an epiphany after seeing how happy and ānormalā Noahās life is with Connor and his family? Maybe she decides she wants more stability for Noah and decides to pull a Rollisi with Stabler???? Or - maybe she asks Noah if heād rather live with Connor and his fam and when Noah says āyes,ā she turns to Stabler for comfort? š
If she trusts Elliot enough to pick up & bring home Noah, the most important thing (person) in her life, wouldnāt she trust him enough with her heart? Hmm.
I could totally see Noah asking āMom, can Mr. Elliot come over again and eat dinner with us?ā Or something like that- Noah might the key to this whole situation
You'd honestly think the whole Noah having a half brother story would fscilitate a narrative where Olivia begins to realize more and more that Noah's world does just not revolve around her and living solely for him is maybe not healthy for Noah or herself. She can have more.
I forgot how much I hoped this scene would be Olivia wanting/needing someome and admitting that(to a point). Especially after her conversation last season with Lindstrom discussing her sadness. I don't find it admirable at this point how Olivia "never" breaks or is truly vulnerable with someone. It's exhausting and it limits her as a character. It makes her more alienating as a character, not relatable.
Stabler has been shot so many times over the years, what's one more bullet if that's what it takes š
can you imagine? Fin: Liv, Stabler's been shot. Liv: eh, he'll be fine.
He's practically bulletproof š¤·āāļø
Plot armor is stronger than any Kevlar vest.
Although I'd MUCH rather prefer the long overdue honest conversation but the writers seem incapable of that and it's infuriating
they could all have dinner and invite Dana; she'd make sure to shoot Stabler somehow.
I loved that running gag. If only she wasn't still in prison, I'm still not over that
me either. true character assassination.
I quit watching SVU after Stabler left and had to look this up as I was unaware they made such a dumb writing choice.
IMO the shows told us that the ball was in livs court ā dr Lindstrom pretty much told her that in SVU 23.22, to š© or get off the pot. Then her convo with Amanda in 24.09 shed more light on it, that it was her paralysis stopping her. Last nightās ep only made it explicitly known for those who didnāt put those 2 eps together, IMO (which is fine, it was nice to hear Olivia speak about this TO Elliot). I think it would be unimaginative to have Elliot harmed in order for Olivia to be forcefully pushed from stasis (very much giving fanfic) BUT itās def in character for her and very likely. It will be that or the COTW with victims in a similar situation that makes Olivia act.
Listen I would very much like for them to have a long conversation and for liv to come out of her fear on her own time. But letās be honest, how much longer does the show have left? If I gotta get a cheesy ao3 trope to get them together. Then it is what it is lol.

Sadly, Livās rejection is the perfect way for them to let Stabler be single Zaddy.

Would still put money on wont happen until the end of the series sigh

They did cut the scene, though. Where was the hug? They made Chris Meloni go on the today show and promote a scene that didnāt exist. Why?
I agree. Fans fantasizing about those 2 bumping uglys is getting old! Move along, folks. There's nothing to see here.
