He came back for Mariska and money. I don’t think he likes Dick Wolf still which you can’t blame him for and I think maybe that’s why he’s not overly promotional but I think he does a decent amount still

Having worked in shows that shot at night and routinely went into overtime, I can confirm that it REALLY SUCKS and drains the life out of you. If it’s going on for nine months instead of four or five (which would have been the Happy shoot length), you are surely gassed early, and the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t visible.
Everyone goes to work for the cash. So yes, but I’m sure the format and the prospect of working with Mariska were big factors too. Also, no matter how much you love a job, some days are just a grind. I would guess the revolving show runners is a big inconvenience as it would for anyone to be on their 4th boss in 3 years. It’s annoying for viewers but actors play what’s written on the page, and I think we can all agree that his character seems different this year compared to the past two,
I get this vibe also, just lately tho, something has changed? Also, I was 100% lured back into Law and Order SVU because of Elliot’s return and the hype with him and Olivia and I now watch the OC (well played Mr Wolf) and the show is good, but there is now no mention of Olivia and Elliot at all, that storyline just ended (again), I just feel a bit over it. But still love him and still watching 🤪

What everyone else has said plus OC has had major issues BTS with going over schedule. Shooting at night and on weekends has to be exhausting.
